A list of puns related to "InBev"
Like 63% of the posts here are about AB Inbev's Bourbon county stout. They have like a gazillion versions of it, and none of them are craft beer. I'd like to see some more interesting beers here.
Anheuser-Busch InBev ends Tilray cannabis venture β Just Drinks Exclusive (Paywall)
By Andy Morton, 06 Jan 2022
The Budweiser brewer, which signed an agreement to explore cannabis beverages with Tilray in late-2018, ended the project in the middle of last year, Tilray CEO Irwin Simon has told Just Drinks. The termination was mutual, Simon said.
According to the CEO, A-B InBev was unwilling to enter the THC market in Canada, where cannabis beverages have been legal for more than two years. Cannabis drinks generally contain either THC, which is psychoactive, CBD, which is non-psychoactive, or a blend of the two.
βThey really didn't want to go near the THC category right now, in Canada where it's legal,β Simon said this week. βSo, it was best that we both went on our own separately. It wasn't adversarial, there was no fight, no lawsuit. It just mutually made sense. I wanted to move in one direction and they didn't want to.β
The CEO added that Tilray continues to have a manufacturing relationship with the brewing giant for CBD products in Canada.
A-B InBev announced the Tilray partnership just over three years ago through Canadian subsidiary Labatt Breweries. Tilray and Labatt were to invest US$50m each in the venture. Under the terms of the arrangement, A-B InBev and Tilray said they would research beverages containing the drug in what was seen as an exploratory move into cannabis beverages for the worldβs biggest brewer.
Simon was speaking to Just Drinks about recent M&A in the beverage category, including it's purchase of Colorado's Breckenridge Distillery.
Wherein I also mock some fanboys and quote THOR.
Craft beer is very popular and many fans of small-batch locally-brewed concoctions love to talk shit about Budweiser. They call it βpiss-waterβ or at best claim it has no flavor, and thatβs fine, but the real issue I have is when people attack the company as somehow being bad.
AB In Bev pays the highest wages and has the best benefits of any brewer operating in America. Their workers, most of whom never went to college, can easily make $80-$100k with overtime ($70k base), get 8 weeks vacation after 10 years on the job, have no-employee-cost excellent health insurance, matching 401k, and hereβs the big one - employees get a pension equal to their ending pay when they retire.
This is the American dream.
This is what all the youth of Reddit claim no longer exists in America. It does exist for employees of AB InBev, so stop talking shit about them and start supporting them. They make literally hundreds of beers from all the breweries they bought up. Iβm sure you can find one you like.
Just a thought, but could it be possible that Tilray is buying these alcoholic brands like sweetwater and breckenridge to force a takover by Anheuser bush Inbev which partnered with them a couple of years ago? Thoughts?

I'm heading to a beer festival today (relatively small one) where quite a few of the tents are InBev. When you go to a festival, do you feel like the breweries under those conglomerates sold out and you skip them or do you still stop for samples? I still stop for samples but might make InBev my last stops.
