I think they have to respond soon as people will start to talk only about Apple AR. And when it gets enough traction, it will be very hard to create same buzz once again, without any response.
I expect we will get either a reveal of consumer grade product from Magic Leap or detailed timeline and tech. spec. soon - perhaps until end of the year.
Positive is they locked MLOne hardware dev. and started to work on new consumer product as soon as MLOne released.
What I want from ML Consumer product:
- Exchangeable Battery - I have business use case but it is limited with battery life We at least need to have ability to replace battery with charged one.
- Leverage 5G if possible so glasses could be light and CPU rendering may be replaced with cloud rendering
- More FOV (at least some progress there expected)
- More affordable price
Bruh.
As an optimistic asoiaf fan, and follower of his blog, I would always think him not posting for while meant that he was working hard on the book and maybe getting ready for a release announcement. But of course it just meant that he was traveling somewhere and it was not something that was scheduled on his website of his list of appearances.
So I soon learned that when he was posting the most is when he was in Santa Fe and getting work done. So the fact that he has not posted for almost two weeks, along with all the other recent evidence, and the fact that he seems to be at home right now, indicates to me that an announcement is upcoming. I predict by this month.
I don’t think he will save it for the first day of winter or anything like that. He has clearly said that he would not tie the announcement to any special day or holiday. He will announce it when it is done, whenever that happens to be.
So I am hyped, but, as always, ready to be wrong. If he doesn’t announce it this month, there is always next month. That’s just the optimist in me.
