Collaboration between actors on the same level in the supply chain (these can be competitors) is often presented as a feasible solution for a number of challenges in supply chain management. For instance, retailers might share their central inventory with competitors and share the costs to reduce wasted space. Same could be done with empty spaces in aircrafts, ships or trucks.
Literature suggests that the main challenge with this is information sharing, and contract agreements.

After seeing the subway station "thank you" ad and the gift box arranged by the players, along with the charity drive participation, thought that it would be irresponsible not to respond in kind. After the emotional trauma of being at the butt end of "do you still play that (dead) game" jokes for the game that we have worked on for over 7 years, finally experiencing that level of support from our players was an emotional moment.

When we talked about horizontal content, I didn't mean that we not be abandoning vertical. Our content dev team is over 200 people. When you team is small then every addition to the team increases dev capacity a lot, but after a certain size more people does not mean more capacity and sometimes it actually goes down. Also developing end-content takes an incredible amount of time and effort and the fast cadence of last year is definitely not representative of our team's normal development speed. Even if we could sustainably release at this speed, this is not healthy for the players who are burdened by learning all the mechanics while also increasing the divide between the hardcore and casuals.

This doesn't mean we are not doing vertical content. Even though we've presented Elgasia mostly in terms of story, the Kayangel abyssal will have 2 dungeons with 2 gates each, so it will effectively be an end-content 4 gate dungeon. The dev resources invested in one of these is no less than any other legion raid. Also since the continent is a pivotal moment in the story, there is a lot of work we invested in developing the scenarios and VOs etc. Will come Mar - May. Think Abyssals are actually really important as end-content. Beginner dungeons that are engaging but not too stressful like Oreha are an important component of establishing a Light - Hard - Light - Hard rhythm to the endgame. In the case of Kayangel, thinking of widening the iLvl range for this dungeon so that hardcore and casuals will all be able to enjoy. And also the mechanics not to be extremely punishing, but definitely not a pushover either.
MAIN POINTS:

ETHER VULNERABILITY FIX:
If you have been using Uniswap that uses wrapped Ether underneath to do transactions, it has bots (frontrun bots) that injects transactions into the pools - which makes it possible to steal small funds from each transaction. The team wanted to make sure they were NOT susceptible to this. These can be identified on Dextools by the little red icon.
The team reviewed this existing vulnerability around wrapped Ether, and they put things in place to make sure it mitigated issues around that - which is why it took longer, as they needed to update their swap functions to reflect this. It took longer than anticipated, but security is of paramount importance. If anyone wants to look into this for themselves, you can see these on Etherscan as Private transactions & flashbot transactions - Mitigation will always be a work in progress, and the team will always prioritise security.
MARKETTING:
The Saitama marketing team have been working on some great partnerships, which will be announced next week. It was noted that this is not just 1 partnership - these are a chain of partnerships. These are partnerships that will expand the wolfpack not just in the US, but globally. Further information on these will be announced next week. These are huge corporations within huge industries with huge potential that want to work with Saitama.
WOLFCASTER & GAMES:
The team are getting great feedback from the videos they have shown so far. This is a retro platform game inspired by games from the 1992 era (hence the name). Gabe is going to release a video after the AMA today, which will show Wolfcaster 1992 so far. They have been working on another 3D game, which you will start to see some concept art for. NFT PLATFORM:
They team have been working on their own proprietary NFT platform. Up till now, Saitama have been using Opensea to launch NFT's, but they were receiving negative feedback from the community about difficulties to auction NFT's. The team have been working hard to create their own platform to create specific artworks aimed at the wolfpack. A little background about me. I studied biochemistry in undergrad and then completed a masters degree in immunology in 2020. For a little over a year now (since completing my masters), I have worked as a biomedical research assistant at a small, private research institute in Philadelphia. I am working under a very liberal PI who provides me with a ton of intellectual freedom and basically lets me head my own project. This role has been beneficial in my growth as a scientist due to all the things I have learned in designing experiments, ordering reagents, optimizing protocols, and analyzing my results. However, at times I wish I was in a more goal-oriented, structured role with more collaboration and mentorship.
Though my current role has been a great stepping stone as a fresh graduate, I am trying to wrap up this project and get published before making the move into the industry. The dilemma is that my PI really wants me to go on to do a PhD as she feels that I am well-suited and would excel at it. I am semi reluctant to go back to school and devote all of that time and energy at this point, yet kind of regret not just going for a PhD after undergraduate. I do think I am going to apply to a few PhD programs which particularly interest me next cycle, because hey why not.
I am at a crossroads because I feel I can get a pretty decent 'entry level' job right now either in the blossoming biotech scene here in Philly or Boston and climb my way up (eventually). However, I do worry about my career trajectory without a PhD, as I don't want to get pigeonholed into a menial role or do monotonous work...Though I completely acknowledge there are people who excel and make a very good career for themselves without a PhD, I also am aware that there is inevitably a ceiling.
What disadvantage am I at without a PhD? Is it common to perhaps work a year or two in the industry before going for a PhD? Would starting off at a big company or start-up environment be more beneficial to my career growth and development? For someone who wants to eventually move away from the bench, would I still have horizontal mobility or does that just depend on the company?
TL;DR - debating on whether to pursue PhD or take entry level jobs in biotech industry.

Map Service Update
We had announced our long-term Map Service Plan to our players not so long ago, but after reviewing our players' feedback, we realized our plan was not something our players looked forward to. Therefore, after thorough internal debates based on our community's feedback, we have decided it would be best to change the map rotation service for Season 15 to the following:
- Normal Match
- Erangel / Miramar / Sanhok / Taego / Vikendi
- Ranked
- Erangel / Miramar / Taego
Taego will remain in the map rotation for Season 15 due to two reasons: first, our players' feedback, and second, our data showing us that Taego maintains its status as a very popular map. With these being the case, including Haven to the rotation would eventually cause stability issues as we'd have to adapt the map selection UI for regions with map selection without thorough testing. As for regions without map selection, players could feel frustrated having to play several matches before reaching the map they'd like.
Please note that our map service plan for Season 16 and later are still being discussed, but a separate announcement will be made to our players once decisions are made.

He discusses Oppenheimer approaching "Marshall" and wanting to brief Truman. "Marshall" rejects the idea and also appears to be in disagreement with the conclusions reached in the discussion paper. Dr. Bush seems to think Truman won’t like the paper’s conclusions either. Dr. Bush also mentions he has discussed the subject with "Gordon", who also disagrees with Oppy. I am fully convinced "Gordon" is Gordon Gray.
I initially thought "Marshall" was General George C. Marshall, who in June 1947 was the U.S. Secretary of State. Doing a bit more research, “Marshall” may in fact be (then) Brig. Gen. Marshall S. Carter, who was George C. Marshall’s Chief of Staff in June ‘47. In this post I outlined why its likely the big announcement on Dec. 9th at Polygons ZK Day Event is probably that they have acquired mir protocol & as the title of that post shows that's really big news but today it dawned upon me that there is even bigger news here & that's what the addition of mir protocol means for Polygons ZK rollups.
Polygons workhorse the Polygon POS sidechain currently has about 65% of the daily active addresses as Ethereum & up to 5k web 3 dapps dwarfing all other low cost gas solutions on Ethereum combined.
Over the last 6 months Polygon has been putting together a puzzle, a ZK Rollup Puzzle. They have been buying up zk rollups that have different use cases with different technology.
In the June of this year Vitalik Buterin did a podcast for the Youtube channel Lex Fridman & in it he discusses Eth Layer 2 scaling. There are two things he says that catch my attention.

This is going to be a bit long winded, so I apologize in advance.
This is something I've wanted to do for months, but I kept putting it off because there was another pen in the mail, or there were pens out getting serviced, but they are finally all together!!!
In January, I dug out an old ballpoint pen that was given to me as a gift at least 20 years ago. It's a decent pen - Colibri something or other. The ink cartridge had dried out, and I had no experience with buying refills since I just used whatever pen was around and cheap/free.
As I began looking online for a matching refill, I came across fountain pens, which honestly I'm not sure I'd ever actively thought about in the 38 years I'd been alive. At that moment, the seed was planted.
I ordered the refills I needed for the Colibri, but I kept thinking about fountain pens. I found several online retailers and started sliding down the rabbit hole, just browsing pens for hours at a time, every day. It was quickly turning into more than just a curiosity.
After a couple weeks of looking, I felt like I was finally ready to spend an outrageous amount of money on a pen(I was so naive). In my travels, one particular pen really stood out to me - Diplomat Traveler in Taupe, but my inexperience in the hobby made me weary of the website I originally saw it on, and I was having trouble finding that color anywhere else in the US.
After some lamentation, I decided to purchase a Lamy Logo Brushed Stainless Steel from Goulet, who seemed the most legitimate site I had found thus far. This pen was ridiculously expensive (compared to any pen I'd ever bought), and I couldn't believe I was spending that much on....a.......pen.
Guys, it's just a pen. Why would anyone spend such INSANE money on a pen?? $40? Are you kidding me? What the hell is wrong with me?
As these statements, questions, and internal conflicts were banging around in my head, I foolishly bought the pen.
And that's how I ended up here, 10 months later, with 62 writing instruments...mostly fountain, but several pencils and rollerball/ballpoints added in for good measure (because they matched the pen and I needed some matching sets) - and a spreadsheet to track them all.
And a bank account begging me to stop buying pens.

New Vehicle: Mountain Bike

Attention all triathletes! The Mountain Bike, a fan-requested vehicle is coming to the Battlegrounds. Unlike our other vehicles, the Mountain Bike can be found as a lootable item in its folded state. It can be located most often on the outskirts of the map, helping you have additional transportation methods.
Due to the lack of an engine, it hardly makes any noise, allowing for stealthy movement. Combined with Driver shooting, this can lead to some great surprises for your enemies.
