A list of puns related to "History of Grand Central Terminal"
In case you don't know, tickets cost the same starting or originating at Grand Central Terminal or Harlem-125th St, so using that station does not save money.
I will be in NYC again two weeks from now. I want to finally take a trip on the Hudson line of Metro North. I am thinking of going to Scarborough Station and then Croton-Harmon.
The ticket price from GCT to that fare zone is $11.25 each way. But if I catch the train at Yankee Stadium, the ticket price is only $5.75! Round trip is the same price as one way! (I will have an unlimited metrocard, so I am not counting the price of the subway ride).
Another example, GCT to the Yonkers/Greystone fare zone is $8.75. Yankee Stadium to that fare zone (or closer) is $3.00.
I can't imagine very many circumstances where it would be much of a detour to get to Yankee Stadium, assuming one was already planning to ride the subway or bus from somewhere in NYC to Grand Central. Either you catch the 4/5 from Grand Central, or you go directly to Yankee Stadium, depending on where you are and what route you would normally take.
This also works for other MNR lines (though not as convenient since normally only the Hudson line stops at Yankee Stadium, and the other lines stop at stations that are farther from subway connections).
Also, the longer distance the trip, the less percentage of savings.
Grand Central to New Haven is $17.75, whereas Fordham to New Haven is $14.00. For the time spent getting all the way to Fordham and then going from the Subway Station to the Metro-North station, I think I would just get the train from GCT. Oh, and if you get on at Fordham you will have to transfer trains in Stamford.
Hello! This is my first time posting here! Recently, I visited a covid testing van a block away from Grand Central Terminal. (This was located right next to Citi Bank). Theres a bunch of test kiosk around there but this particular one had a very short line. The van was blue and had a βHave Doctor, Will travelβ Logo. In giant letters, free covid testing was on the mobile as well. The company uses Bio Diagnostic Lab for their login portal for patients.
-I just wanted to know if anyone else tested at this van. If so what was your experience? -Were you charged any sneaky fees later on?
I wanted to learn more about this company but had difficulty finding more information. (please disregard any grammar issues! Iβm still learning π )
Thank you !!
