We are Sir Sly aka Landon Jacobs (vocals/guitar), Jason Suwito (keys/production/mixing/everything), and Hayden Coplen (drums/beats). We write and record all our material at Jason’s studio in Costa Mesa, CA. We’ve been a band since 2012 and we released our third album, The Rise and Fall of Loverboy (https://smarturl.it/LoverboySirSly) this year. We put out a single called “Bang” a few weeks ago and there’s a bunch more music in the oven for next year.
You can ask us anything — but I guess what’s noteworthy about now is that we’re independent for the first time since 2013. Being independent allows us to take sonic risks and evolve as people and artists in a way that the major label system never encouraged. We don’t mean to intentionally bash on labels (they serve a purpose and there’s some good folks who work there), but it became time to part ways once the system began having an effect on what we make and when we release it.
It’s been rewarding to reconnect with the joy of making music without commercial expectation.

We are Landon Jacobs (vocal/guitar), Jason Suwito (keys/production/everything else), and Hayden Coplen (drums/programming). We write and record all our material at Jason’s studio in Southern California. We’ve been a band since 2012, and we have two albums out with a third on the way.
My no-frills version of our bio is that we spent a couple years playing to half-empty clubs in support of our debut album, then took three long, crazy years to make our follow-up. That record, Don’t You Worry, Honey, had a #1 single on alternative radio, and we saw the clubs get fuller and played festivals like Coachella, Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits, and Bonnaroo. Now we’ve finished our third album and are planning to release it this year...hopefully.
Our favorite thing is tinkering in the studio, but we also love skateboarding (Landon), backpacking (Hayden), and ...well...Jason is actually a mysterious wizard so he’s into a little bit of everything. Ask us anything!
