Moved in about a month ago to a rental with some mates. We’re all chill uni students. Area is only slightly dodgy but won’t disclose. Apparently the previous tenants were possibly a bit dodgy but there’s been some renovations between us and them living there.

Came back last night to find the whole house ransacked. They pulled everything out of drawers (even went into my zipped up banana grams game and took the tiles out), mattresses were moved, everything on the floors. Went through our clothes drawers. One of the bedrooms was particularly bad, bras and clothes had been pulled out of her drawers and the drawers were damaged. Every cupboard and thing in that room had been looked through. The lounge and bathroom were left untouched. It’s obvious they were looking for something.

They wore gloves (police told us after checking for fingerprints) and this was one of the only nights so far we’ve all not been home, so it seems planned.

Weird thing is, nothing was stolen - documents/passports, laptops, expensive jewellery/diamonds, car keys, weed - all left at the house, even if we had these things very much on display. They even took one of my friends laptops out of his laptop bag to search the bag, but left the laptop. I don’t think any of our wallets were left at home.

The only thing they took were an excessive amount of up n gos from my pantry (8).

Can anyone solve this mystery for me? Or is anything like this happening in melbourne recently? What could they have been looking for? We don’t have any stalker exes and we aren’t dodgy.

Edit: since everyone seems to be super interested, the up n go’s were the vegan chocolate ones. I think they’re new.
