A list of puns related to "Heck reaction"
Okay this is hard to explain, but I always seem to get these types of questions wrong. They describe a scenario, like inducing renal artery stenosis, then ask what the results are. Sure, I understand that over time you will get compensatory increase in GFR, but the stem never clarifies at what point in time the answer choices are. I seem to get these wrong a lot, ie with reflex tachycardia, shock problems. How do you know at what βpoint in timeβ a question is asking about if they donβt explicitly say it? Sorry if this makes NO SENSE but Iβm sick of getting these wrong.

I know the poor girl suffered a cerebral hemorrage because of an hypertensive crisis, which ufortunately took her life... but I mean.. why? Does anyone have more information upon what dose she was receiving, and just started on? may it was too high or too rapidly titrated up, or not titrated at all, just given a very high dosage all of a sudden?God, I read about poor Pam, and it has left me not just feeling bad about her young life ending like this, and the terrible suffering of her and her family, since her BPD fully developed...
It scares the shit out of me, because I will start in few days a treatment with tranylcypromine, a decision that took me months to take, but finally took it, as my major atypical depression and anxiety symptoms (including some symptoms close to BPD) have took already so much of my life, and I'm already deteriorating horribly because of such symptoms, I cannot live a normal, beautiful life (I have two living and loving parents, have been blessed in many areas, and although I've suffered a lot, I've been given also beautiful and amazing gifts in this life, which I cannot enjoy being like this, I feel I've become a horrible person..), and I've already damaged too much my dearest ones.
I've read a lot of studies and cases showing how marvelous this drug can be for people with such terrible ailments, and how life changing, towards the positive, it is for many. I've read most of Dr. Ken Gillman's writings, attesting how safe the drug can be, and how a bad reputation has been given to it, also my pdoc, a renowned neuropsychopharmacologist himself, have supported me in this decision... I've read how many people on TCP and MAOIs just eats aged cheese, red wine, salami, fermented soy products and stuff like that, and doesn't have a problem, but I've also read of some scary reactions people have had to they don't even know what... I'm scared about that, but decided I'll try to be as careful and reponsible as I can (given that I'm not a very disciplined guy)... But this case of Pam keeps haunting me and scares the shit out of me, as her case is like "what the f..."... She has just started parnate and the she ate a pizza, and that caused her to die of a brain hemorrage because a spike in blood pressure.I don't know if she had a predisposition already (which she might have had), or if she was started in a dose too high, but her case leaves me scared, sad and unmotivated to even start my treatment. Does anyone have such specific information
... keep reading on reddit β‘I am having problems conducting a heck reaction with my research. It is a heck reaction between an electron deficient Ar-Br to be coupled with ethyl acrylate. I am using pure tetrakis triphenylphosphinepalladium(0) that I made myself and the reaction is done neat (TEA and the ethyl acrylate dissolved everything) under atmospheric conditions, Nitrogen or Argon at 100C.
The reaction has been conducted with various equivalents of base and catalyst, and each time its results in the formation of "palladium black" (not to sure what that is tbh), and TLC and NMR confirm little conversion of starting material to product after 18 hours.. Anyone have any suggestions as to what could be going wrong?
Nickel catalysts efficiently promote enantioselective Heck reaction of aryl triflates, mesylates and tosylates in excellent ee values. Asymmetric reductive Heck reaction with a ketal of 2βcyclopentenone also proceeds well, which is equivalent to conjugate arylation of the enone itself.
Nickelβcatalyzed intermolecular Heck reaction of cycloalkenes proceeds well with aryl triflates, mesylates and tosylates in excellent enantiomeric ratios. The asymmetric reductive Heck reaction also works with a 2βcyclopentenone ketal, which is equivalent to conjugate arylation of the enone itself.

For example, for a hydrogenation reaction to occur we need a Pd/C catalyst in the presence of hydrogen to hydrogenate the Alkene or alkyne to an alkane. Like did someone randomly just was like βI want to make an Alkane from this Alkene so letβs see if we can have a catalyst that will push the reaction that way. Hey letβs see if palladium over carbon worksβ. Donβt get me started on alkyne to alkene using Lindlarβs catalysts. Same goes for the other famous processes like Haber-Bosch process and Sabatier process.
I guess Iβm just wondering on why canβt we predict if something will be a catalyst or not? And in school they donβt teach us how they found out the catalysts actually work so what I am assuming is that these scientists are using trial and error.

I have one question about the heck reaction, and one related question.
In the Heck reaction, C-C bond rotation must occur for Beta Hydrogen Elimination of the the desired product. However, if our starting material alkene has only one substituent, is it possible to achieve a mixture of E and Z isomers of final product as b-hydrogen elimination can occur by elimination of either Hydrogen syn to the palladium metal centre. Presumably, the major product will be the E isomer due to sterics involved when rotating the R group to the same plane as the original substituent of the alkene.
Finally, why does migratory insetion result in syn-addition, and therefore in b-hydrogen elimination , why must the hydrogen be syn to Pd metal centre.
Sorry if i was confusing, thanks in advance!
I will start by saying I got Sadie from a random lady on craigslist, who didn't tell me very much about her. In fact, even the age she gave me was wrong, according to our vet. So I really don't know anything about her history.
Okay, as to what just happened, Sadie pottied inside, while I was standing right there. This is not something she has done, she is very good about only going outside. So I said to her in a normal tone, βSadie, what are you doing?β
She immediately ran off, trailing poop behind her. She looked completely spooked. I followed her, she had curled up on the couch under her blanket. I picked her up, she didn't seem distressed any longer, so I took her back to her mess but when I attempted to show it to her before taking her outside, she recoiled and made the most horrific sound. I can't even explain it. It was somewhere between a bark and scream. She struggled out of my arms and ran to her kennel. I left her alone at this point, as she never goes into her kennel without bribery and more importantly I have never heard Sadie make a sound let alone one so horrific. I am really confused, I didn't speak harshly or have any change in my usual body language. I just intended to show her the poop and take her outside in hopes that she would associate it with outside. Now I don't even know what to do in the case of future accidents. I am also terrified that I traumatized her in some way. Sadie is my princess and I don't want her to be fearful of me.
Can someone please suggest a different way to correct the behavior? Is she going to be okay? Has my poor pup been abused in some fashion? She cowers a lot, I always assumed it was because the poor thing only weighs 3lbs, now I am worried she has had a bad life. How do I help her to know that she will never be hurt again, if this is a sign of abuse? Anyway, thanks for taking the time to read this. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
What Game Of Thrones final season or Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker leaks were there that predicted the plot twists everybody ended up hating (relevant because people are using mentions of those supposed leaks to say that the plot twists they don't like from the supposed Doctor Who leaks must be true because those were)?
If "there is no canon" except for what you want to believe is true (something I've heard justify those rumors' potential retcons), then, regardless of what that means about which series happened and which Doctors and companions exist and met what fates, does that mean those of us who believe they're somehow secret timelords (or those kin with them like you'd find on r/fictionkin) are actually that or that someone could use "I believe it's canon" to bully BBC into letting them turn their self-insert fic into episodes
Do people not realize that Moffat lied about Missy because they think somehow Chibnall couldn't have been lying about Ruth not being from a parallel universe?
Couldn't "we're not who we think we are" just apply to the Time Lords as a whole as given the subtext of a lot of this season, perhaps the history would be a lie not in some reality-altering way but in the sense American schoolchildren eventually learn as they grow up things like the First Thanksgiving were lies (and certainly British textbooks must have equivalent stuff covered up with positive language)
Would people have been more forgiving of the extra-Doctor plot twist if both Doctors involved had been white men (aka how much hate of how this, be it the twist itself or the rumors it confirms, could f with canon/"retcon away people's childhoods", is actually due to the quality of the writing and how much is veiled racism/sexism/hatred of Chibnall due to his association with the female Doctor idea)
Given the kinds of weird shit people theorized about resolution to past plot twists, isn't it very much likely that, while that doesn't mean it isn't going to mess with canon/our heads, whatever revelations about Gallifrey, Ruth and the Timeless Child(ren) have been being built up to wouldn't be the kind of "retcon the Doctor's entire backstory and also her and the Master are somehow the Timelord equivalent of the Messiah and the Antichrist, stomping on your dreams and wrecking your childhood" crap we all think
Am I correct in saying that the Doctor can't be the Timeless Child if the rumors are right about the Timeless Child being female, because there'
