Hazmat suit Puns

It was in China...December 2019 to Feb 2020. The bodies were on hidden cell cams & the footage had to be uploaded to the web in secret. Crematoria were running 24/7...whistleblowers disappeared. Lockdowns were more & more drastic & more & more necessary. (Remember welding people in their apartments to force a lockdown?)

I just remembered how often there would be a young healthy doctor or researcher or nurse who worked too closely or didn't fit her PPE correctly...who got the virus, got sick, & died. China's numbers skyrocketed to about 80,000 when the virus came to the U.S. & their new cases & deaths dried up (we never believed their numbers and assumed they were underestimated).

IF...the U.S. virus was as deadly as what we saw, then schools SHOULD be closed & cancelled. We would have millions dead. But we don't. Only sick are dying. 100+ yrs old recover. 600+ lb. Bed-ridden recovers. I know a few people who were sick (cold/flu symptoms). Some old folks were more sick than young folks...just like the flu.

Does anyone remember bodies in the Chinese streets & then we have dancing nurses in empty hospitals here?

I've always been intrigued by the +25 radiation resistance legendary effect, so I decided to craft up five pieces of secret service gear with it. Slapped buttressed on all five, with lead lining on the chest. Equipped the shielded lining secret service underarmor. Put lead lining on my backpack. Equipped a maxed out What Rads and Rad Resistant perk. I had a whopping 877 radiation resistance. Yet in a nuke zone, I was still taking 11 rads a second. Worse, when I removed all of the armor, it only fell to 15, meaning the armor only stopped 4 rads.

What is the point of all of these radiation resistance perks and mods if they do nothing? The lead lining chest mod, for example, adds a meager 10 radiation resistance and takes up a super important slot. You could get a jet pack there, or dense to survive explosions. You'd think people who sacrifice that slot to get radiation resistance would get something for it but it's completely useless. The Rad Resistant perk gives 40 resistance but it's similarly useless. Why on earth would anybody put lead lining on their backpack, losing half the capacity, when the 90 resistance it provides is completely useless?

Even after I popped a rad shield for another 300 resistance, it only dropped to 10 rads a second. I know it's unrealistic for people to survive in nuke zones without serious protection, but realism isn't exactly the point of the game. I wanted to be able to wear my cosmetics in the nuke zone but all this test proved was that it's never going to be possible.

Last night, I was deleting an old nuclear build, but I couldn't reach some things I needed to delete, so I switched to my hover pack, and yeah, I died. I couldn't switch back to the suit fast enough. I quit after that.
