A list of puns related to "Harry Potter prequel"
It seems to have less to do with Newt Scamander and his creatures and more to do with the rise and fall of Grindelwald, and I wouldn't be surprised to see young Tom Riddle in one of the later films.
Agree or disagree?
In her younger days Minerva went by the name Eglantine Price. In the movieβs final scene she uses Substitutiary Locomotion to defeat the Nazi, this is the same spell she used in the battle of Hogwarts to defeat the Death Eaters. She eventually changed her name afterward to protect herself and the children from Nazi retribution.
It is far fetched theory but I like to believe this is true. If you havenβt seen Bed-Knobs and Broomstick it is a fun Disney movie from the 70βs.
Debate:
So in the VERY distant past im talking hundreds of thousands of years in the past of Star wars magical beings finally revealed themselves on earth so they manged to merge magic and science to the point where they started to explore the stars and start to colonize other worlds eventually they forgot about earth and stayed in the stars magic slowly became known as the force and one day a blonde guy that farms WATER uses that magic in his quest to defeat the evil imperial empire but a walking life support machine beats him to it
I know this is half baked but I legit just now thought about it
But anyway I like to think this explains why People know English yet they've never been to earth Why the force exists And why humans exist in Star wars
There's probably cannon explanations but I like this one
Feel free to improve or share my weird little headcannon lol
Just imagine. A series set during the first Wizarding War. Imagine it being directed by Dave Filoni and everything. Imagine seeing James and Lily and all of the others during their prime. Imagine how the series can end in a dark and emotional way like the Clone Wars with James and Lily's death. It can't be too similar, but just imagine it.
Watching Deathly Hallows pt 2 for the 20384838 time, and it just really got me thinking about this idea. Itβd be really cool to see maybe a 2-3 movie series that starts from Tom Riddleβs childhood and years at Hogwarts, up until the time he nearly died in Godricks Hollow. Who has the WB plug? Lol someone tell them to make this happen!! Or is there content out there in HP universe that resembles this thatβs actually worth engaging with??
Hey!!! Iβm such a fan off All the Young Dudes and I saw that HBO Max is planning to create a show around the harry potter world AND a prequel focusing on the Marauders is being cONSIDERED!! look it up!! and support that storyline!!
The characters enter the story in similar ways; both a young, having missing parent(s) and living under terrible living conditions (slavery vs. orphanage). Both can access mystical powers and are taken away to be trained. Both are presented as they grow up as being a little unhinged, but the difference is in their portrayal. Child Tom Riddle is shown at various times as looking very creepy and dangerous. Almost horror movie-esque. We're told Anakin is full of fear (and that it leads to hate) by the council but not really shown it, at least in TPM. Tom has incidents where he's unknowingly used magic in anger on fellow children at the orphanage. There's a deleted scene in TPM where Anakin gets in a fight with his friend who's apparently a young Greedo. I think it would of been a great scene if instead he angers Anakin, who unintentionally force pushes him, with Qui-Gon as a witness.
Now as the characters age, Tom Riddle is portrayed as extremely charismatic and classically handsome. I actually love Hayden Christensen as Anakin, but I think instead of being an awkward somewhat-angsty teen, being extremely charismatic and using it to get away with questionable behaviour that's leading him closer to the dark side. It be more believable of Padme falling for him, too. I think the Clone Wars TV Show actually to this approach on many occasions.
Now, I know what you're saying this is how George directed the movies to be. And that's most likely the case. He wanted Anakin to seem pure so his fall to the Dark Side is more tragic. However, it's just my opinion on this matter, there was potential to make his turn more gradual and believable.

Easy - to prevent a war amongst the loyal fan base and not ruin so many fan fics!
So apparently Rowling wrote an 800 word short story about James and Sirius having a run-in with the Muggle Police. This was in 2008 when it was sold in auction. Apparently most people forgot about it, but it made headlines again in 2017 when it was stolen. Copies (I'm not sure from when) have been circulating around the internet and I found a PDF with a scan of the original essay as well as a proper typed up version, which can be found here:

Enjoy!
Iβd imagine something like a set of 5 movies. If you count the Marauders then itβs a complete set of 6 movies.
βThe event known as the First Wizarding War was a major conflict with foundations as early as the 1940s, but officially beginning in 1970 and ending abruptly in 1981. It marked the original "reign" of the Dark Lord Voldemort.β

Opening In Micheal Gambons voice βImagine that Voldemort's powerful now. You don't know who his supporters are, you don't know who's working for him and who isn't; you know he can control people so that they do terrible things without being able to stop themselves. You're scared for yourself, and your family, and your friends. Every week, news comes of more deaths, more disappearances, more torturing... The Ministry of Magic's in disarray, they don't know what to do, they're trying to keep everything hidden from the Muggles, but meanwhile, Muggles are dying too. Terror everywhere... panic... confusion... that's how it used to beβ.
It was in this charged climate that in 1970, Voldemort revealed himself openly, proclaimomg himself the Dark Lord, and started to commit extreme acts of terrorism around Europe. With his army of dark wizards and dark creatures at his command, Voldemort launched an assault against the British Ministry Of Magic with the intention of toppling it and creating a new world order run by pure-bloods, with Muggle-borns either killed en masse or kept in utter bondage, and Lord Voldemort himself as an immortal leader, though likely ruling from behind the scenes. To achieve these ends, the Death Eaters and their allies (including the particularly destructive Giants) began openly carrying out attacks on Muggles for sport and to sow chaos. Cleaning up these attacks, healing survivors, modifying memories, searching for the perpetrators, and attempting to prevent future attacks occupied more and more of t

Would you want to read more of that or just are happy with the current books with a little insight of past
Full disclaimer, I'm a huge Harry Potter fan. I love both the novels and the original 8 movies (although Cursed Child can do one as far as I'm concerned).
After re-watching both Fantastic Beasts 1 and FB: Crimes of Grindwald, from a purely fan-boy state of mind, these movies are alright watches for the magic and the nostalgia that they evoke. I'll probably never get tired of seeing JK Rowling's interesting take on magic and worldbuilding etc.
But after a somewhat-promising-if-messy start in the first Fantastic Beasts movie (if anyone says that they love these movies, I fully understand how they can have that viewpoint) Crimes of Grindelwald just decides to dump all of the plot points it has on you with so many characters whose names I cannot remember.
Nicolas Flamel was a nice little cameo in the movie, and whenI saw his famous stone it gave me a chuckle, but Nagini being a human the whole time is such BS that it just annoys me.
Now yes, JK Rowling has every right to change whatever details she wants. If she wants to make Hogwarts into a giant floating Death Star, as the original author she can do that. But Nagini just "coincidentally" bumping into the guy who may-or-may-not be Albus Dumbledore's long-lost brother is such a "hey kids, you remember Harry Potter? It's back, in pog form!" contrivance. I know that the FB pentology is just JK's way of making HP relevant again, but freaking hell if I am expected to believe that JK kept this a secret for "20 years" then I may as well believe that Palpatine was always intented to be the villain of the Star Wars Sequel trilogy.
Sorry for the long rant, it's just somehow entertaining to see how JK is "managing" her own franchise. It's not that I necessarily hate prequels adding new information to a story, but I just know that Fantastic Beasts 3, 4 and 5 are gonna lay on the Harry Potter references so thickly just to generate fan excitement. Can't wait until FB 4: Return of Worldender when we see a young Arthur Weasley.
Okay, there is so much room for prequels in the Harry Potter Universe. The world is developed well enough for us to want to understand more about how our seven main stories came to fruition. I think the story we all want to see on the big screen is the first great war, starting with Voldemort's (Tom Riddle's) loveless birth. We see him grow up as the 'different' child, very much in a similar vein to how 'Joker' is portrayed: we do not necessarily root for the 'protagonist', but we empathise with their position. Throughout the film or film series, we see his time in Hogwarts, the creation of the Horcruxes, the first great wizarding war, and ending on the murder of Harry Potter's parents.
This is easily a more compelling and enticing plot the Fantastic Beasts films (the Crimes of Grindlewald was truly a catastrophe) and would bring in old and new fans due to the familiarity of the setting and some characters, such as Tom Riddle (obviously) and his parents, Dumbledore, Snape, Hagrid, James and Lily, Lupin, Pettigrew and Sirius - also bringing the opportunity to finally bring the Marauders story to film.
Anyone agree?
I mean its all set up for one, it has events that are really interesting of the first wave of people fighting a slowly losing battle against Voldemort. I'd like to see Lily and James and the rest as Voldemort starts taking over. How Lily, James and Neville's parents survived an encounter with Voldemort three times. Also how Snape fitted into the story too. I would love to see all of it. To have Lily and the Marauders be the main characters in the prequels like Obiwan and Anakin in the SW prequels. It could be either live action or preferably a cartoon tv series on Netflix.
What do you guys think?
Edit: I don't count the Fantastic Beats as prequels, I mean prequels like Star Wars as in they connect directly the events that started off the Harry Potter saga. Not like Fantastic Beasts which is more like the Star Wars sequels in the regard they don't connect to the original story, don't really contribute much to the universe and people want them to end so something better can be made.
Has there ever been any discussion on a series that takes place during Voldemorts? It would be cool to see the order of the phoenix form and it could follow the potters, the long bottoms, Sirius, Lupin, etc. as well as the malfoys, undercover snape and others of voldemorts circle. I think HBO could do a good job at making something like this, I could use a good replacement for GoT.
After rewatching the films for the hundredth time and starting a reread of the books. With what we know if they decided to do another prequel in the Harry Potter Universe what would you prefer?
For me theres 2 I would love a series about the Founders of Hogwarts and how there early years was leading to Slytherins departure and about how the Deathly Hallows was created would be a fascinating watch too.
What would you like in a Prequel?
To clarify, I'm not criticizing John Williams. He's amazing. I just think it's interesting that two pieces written around the same time have similar sections.
