I pre-orded the Vive Pro 2 back in May via PayPal. HTC sent it to me and I got it 2nd June. Cutting 6 months of troubleshooting out, it had to go back 4 times. The last time it was lost going from UK to HTC repairs in Romania via UPS.
HTC made a claim and UPS approved so HTC have been paid for the lost Vive Pro 2.
I was told 2 times by HTC support via email they will be processing the refund. I got an email stating the same and I should have it in my bank in the next 5-7 business days.
I just received an email today stating it rejected as it has exceeded the timeframe. So I can't get a refund from HTC or a replacement as per email below. I also cannot get a refund from PayPal as it has exceeded their 180 day timeframe.

... keep reading on reddit β‘Hi, Iβm pretty new to VR Gaming and recently bought a Vive Pro.
Right from the start Iβve encountered some problems which uninstalling every HTC software seemed to have fixed.
One Problem remains, which drives me crazy. One day I am playing for hours on end without any (or very few) grey outs. And on the next day the headset loses tracking every five seconds or does not regain tracking at all.
I can roughly say that if I have played for more than 2 hours, that I wonβt be able to play the next day or two. After that the Problem disappears. Nothing in my room is different to the day before. Not even the lighting. I game only with closed curtains and with my lights of.
Has somebody experienced this issue?
The Headset, the Remote and the two Basestations are all up to date. If I forgot some needed info please let me know.
Appreciate any help. Thank you.
Edit: I tried to Google my Problem, without any luck
I'd like to buy a VR with FBT, however I'm on a budget. My PC isn't the best (I have a i7-6700K and GTX 1060 6GB) it is VR Ready, but the GPU isn't quite good enough for Valve Index, and I BARELY meet Vive Pro 2's minimum requirements.
It seems budget and hardware limit me to either the OG Vive or Oculus Quest 2, but I'm not too jazzed on the idea of an Oculus given the problems it poses with VRChat. The original HTC Vive + 3 trackers for FBT is affordable for me, but will it be worth it? The other option would be to save for the Vive Pro (1).
I've looked everywhere for a solution but nothing seems to work what should I do?
Seems like HTC is no longer stocking the HTC VIVE NOSE REST and recently mine just broke completely.
Does anyone know a place or site I can find to replace it? I live in the United States and searched Amazon and Ebay but I can't seem to find anything.

6 months of troubleshooting. I had so many things wrong with my VR headset. It went from UK to HTC Romania repair centre, came back to me WORSE. Sent it back again, got to me and most things fixed, but still some issues. Went back a 3rd time, they replaced it stating with a "new" headset, but it was covered in dust, hair and was sent to me in my original box (that traveled 6 times there and back), all in bubble wrap. Also it had a dead pixel and pass-through cameras were not working.
Sent it back a 4th time, thinking it's taking a little longer than usual. I updated UPS website and it said an investigation opened to locate the parcel. I contacted HTC support, they told me they opened the investigation, I said yes I know as I'm emailing them about it. Telling me I have to wait until they find it. At this point, I have waited SIX MONTHS already for a fully working headset. I requested a new sealed commercial box Vive Pro 2 as I purchased it in June, informing me I have to wait. This is the point I have requested a full refund.
I've not been angry or aggressive to email support or HTC forum staff, I've done everything and more for what they asked. I've been calm and professional about it and have the patience of a saint. Telling me to wait was the breaking point, when it has already been 6 months.

What an absolute shit show this has been.
6 months of troubleshooting and 4 returns for my Vive Pro 2 to the repair centre... then it was lost. Nobody would just replace it with a new working Vive Pro 2. What did I get out of this? My money back and now I'm left with other HTC equipment that I cannot use.
Hey there,
I've got the original HTC Vive at the moment, bought it maybe 2 or 3 years ago, and I've loved it. Had tons of fun with it. Bought it lightly used. The only thing that I never cared for to begin with were the wands. While they've never been a problem per se, I could definitely have done with an upgrade at any point. I don't notice any issues with the headset, it can be a bit grainy at times, but that's ignorable. It can also be a bit heavy and painful on the neck, but that's something I can deal with. Especially considering I don't particularly have the money to buy the full bundle ATM. I have lighthouses, wands, and the vive headset already, but is it worth it to buy the index wands?
My Vive Pro 2 HMD just turned off after 40 minutes whilst using the HTC wireless...
Running the Vive Pro 2 on my i9-9900K and RTX3080Ti
I was previously getting 84-94C on the wireless device, which is a little high, but it never crashed when I was using wireless on the OG Vive for 5 years, it was 100% stable. Then getting the Vive Pro 2 on release day back in June 2021, originally had no issues with wireless dropping. I went back to using cable (so I can use the full 5K resolution), then just got back to trying wireless again and I'm crashing often.
I get a different USB A to USB A cable today, see if this fixes it for the power bank to wireless. Never had issues before with wireless cutting out like this.

Originally I thought I was having issues with just VRChat..as it crashes pretty often in there. Thinking maybe it's the avatars or something.
I had my 40mm fan on high setting, OVRToolkit which has my 3 monitors showing in VR...Monitor 1 = Teamviewer for my work

... keep reading on reddit β‘So i have my first HTC Vive still but not so long ago i bought Valve Index controllers and it was definitely worth it. But now im having problems with gray screen and im pretty sure its because something broke with base stations so i want to buy new ones and i was thinking about the Valve Index ones but on the steam store page it doesnt seem to list the HTC Vive as compatibile only HTC Vive Pro. Does anyone have a good idea whether or not it will work with my HTC Vive?
Hey guys,
I hope I am not breaking rules by posting here but I really need advice based on my preferences, because I don't know a lot about VR's and google seems to suggest that quest 2 would be better but I can't find info based on my needs..
Where I live quest 2 and vive basically cost the same and I need some advice which one to get. Main things are:
NOTE:
I've played with vive on my pc. I had one for two weeks (never tried asseto corsa), but I played Alyx, Medal of Honor VR and some other simple games and they all worked perfectly fine. However I never tried Quest and because of this I am kinda leaning towards the Vive, but as I google these headsets, stats of Quest seems to be better therefore I can't decide which one to get.
Any tips would be appreciated.
EDIT: GPU is GTX970
I got a Valve Index Full kit a while ago, and now I'm trying to set up 2 lighthouses in another room so it can be used in both, but the actual valve lighthouses are almost never in stock it seems, and I've heard that only older HTC lighthouses that use steam VR1.0, which aren't sold anymore from what I can tell, are compatible. However there are reviews on this amazon page ( https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M01B92P#customerReviews ) for the HTC Vive base stations say they're using it with an Index, despite the Index not being listed in the item's compatibilities. Can anyone here confirm or deny that these work with the Index before I buy them?
(edit: I copy-pasted the wrong link, sorry)
I have this problem where from time to time the display on the headset looks as if it was a old tv no signal thing and then it just turns to a black screen. but when I go to the steam vr and go to the headset view thing it shows as if everything is ok then I get an error message that I should reset my hmd and I do not know how to do that any help?
Hi,
I'm completely new to VR (well only had a phone based one a few years ago) and I'm looking for the best possible combination. What I'm looking at is the HTC Vive Pro 2 with the Valve Index base stations and controllers. I have just recently got a new gaming PC (CPU: i9-12900K / GPU: RTX 3090 24GB) so should be able to get the most out of it. Are there any compatiblity issues? Would this be a good idea or better just going with the whole Valve Index kit. The VP2 appealed to me due to the higher res.
Hello, I've had my HTC Vive for years. I used it last Sunday with no problems. Now all of a sudden I getting a grey screen. I can get it work but its like it loses sync after a short period. I don't think its the cable or the satellites. To me its almost like the head set is going out. I keep having to place my finger over the sensor inside of it to make it wake up when trying to trouble shoot the problems. I've done most of the stuff I can find online for this problem. I just don't how it can work no problems a few days again and now it wont work right.
I bought Vive flow since 3 days now and my experience is so far I was impressed by clarity, FOV, sweet spot, colors (simply put that display is just amazing, even exceeds my Reverb G2 in media consumption), however it's limitation is mostly software:
Miracast have choppiness limitations on fast paced videos, it's like watching a 30fps video instead of 60, an example: watching old anime feels normal on it, watch new fast paced anime and it feels choppy.
Controller solution is not the best using the phone, hand tracking or even Xbox/PS controllers would have been better experience (once I enter phone cast, I switch on Xbox controller to control my phone as a walk around).
PCVR not supported, I tried Riftcat app solution, it works, but the quality is like Rift CV1 quality with washed out colors, but it does work as intended.
The tracking struggle in certain room lighting conditions.
Feedback:
Solution 1: the first 3 would have been easily solved if HTC provided a USB C to USB C phone display solution and USB C to Display port + USB for PCVR! I don't even know why HTC didn't think about it, that's the solution Arpara 5K uses now, because in Flow anyway you require a cable to power it, connecting to phone for power + display would result in these:
Solution 2: Also by swiping down your phone on the top you disable tracking which enables you to control your phone, however annoying disclaimer pops up inside flow glasses telling you to enable controller, I would rather go to my phone start the media content I want and then go back to Flow glasses than having to deal with that tracking solution, but that disclaimer always on the way and can't be removed.
What a disappointment to see 2 simple solutions would have made this one of best VR headsets ever, it have so much potential for such a small size and very lightweight device, the pancake lenses are amazing and for someone who wears glasses it's even better not having to wear them with the Flow.
Will do bundle discounts, and answer any questions. Shipped via UPS. This is Part 2 of my items. Please view my profile for Part 1.

My htc vive will be having it's 6th anniversary this Christmas, and it's getting a bit beat up, so I'm looking to retire it to preserve it because I think it will be cool to have around in the future (like keeping an old NES). I'm looking to use my old base stations and controllers, although I may upgrade to index controllers in the future so having a headset compatible with them would be nice, but not necessary.
Hi! I needed some new lighthouses so I ordered the 2.0 Lighthouse. But me being hasty and excited I instantly ordered the 2.0 lighthouse and didn't realize it was only one.

Dear ,
Good Day,
Thank you for contacting HTC Vive Support.
We do understand your situation and frustration and apology for any inconvenience that has happened.
Please note that we have received a feedback that we tried to issue the refund from our end, however the system refused as the order exceeded the refund time limit and the only available option to get the refund is through PayPal.Β So please try to contact PayPal to request the refund from them.
Kindly also note that unfortunately, we will not be able to proceed with the replacement option. However, if you want, you can place a new order for the headset.Β
At the moment, we do not have offers for the Vive Pro2 headset, however you can check our Christmas offers for some of our products from this link: https://www.vive.com/uk/promo-2021-christmas/
Best regards,
VIVE Technical Support

... keep reading on reddit β‘6 months of troubleshooting.
I heard how bad HTC support can be, but now I have experienced it for the 1st time. I never had to RMA anything before and I've had a lot of tech over many years. There are quite a few posts on their forums and here on reddit about people's experience having to RMA a faulty device. For anyone wanting to know what experience you could have with HTC...

UPDATE:
What an absolute shit show this has been.
6 months of troubleshooting and 4 returns for my Vive Pro 2 to the repair centre... then it was lost. Nobody would just replace it with a new working Vive Pro 2. What did I get out of this? My money back and now I'm left with other HTC equipment that I cannot use.
