A list of puns related to "List of HTC Vive games"
Love the Vive quality but itβs so incredibly bulky to travel with - is it worth holding onto for non fitness games, I should I let it go?
I donβt know, I sometimes feel like playing a VR game, then I remember all of the plugging in and stuff to play that game, and it just puts me off, same thing with turning it all off. I am talking about the HTC Vive, none of the other VR systems.
I donβt mind it, because once I get over the initial bump of plugging it all in, its well worth it, but sometimes when its a little late at night and you want some quick VR gameplay fun, it can be really annoying, VR doesnβt feel like a quick gaming session type of thing, you need at least an hour or more to get the most out of it, to make all of the setup worth it.
Its great fun, but what I have said above has led to me not playing VR as much as I really want, just a little annoying, anyone else agree? What are your thoughts? Have you guys found any ways to lessen the βplugging in everythingβ so you can get into VR gaming faster?
Also, chose Gaming flair because I guess its the best flair available since I am talking about Gaming.
For those that have read my previous threads, I've had a lot of intermittent quick grey screens popping up. At one point I thought I had it resolved by a firmware update, and while I did get some longer mostly issue free game play, the problem persisted. Last week I got on HTC's chat to troubleshoot and the only thing the tech could find was that my play space was out of the recommended bounds. I knew It was but had read of many success stories running in a larger than recommended play space using the sync cable. Anyway, I shrunk my play space last night by moving one of the stations and it was below 600cm, but I still got the grey screens. Got on chat again and did some troubleshooting for many hours. The tech was trying to determine whether it was a play space setup issue or a faulty base station. We changed channels, tried with and without sync cable and tried one at a time. At one point he remoted in and watched what I was seeing in the stereoscopic view and he was able to see the grey screen issue. Now, here's the fun part, the previous tech had run a system report and didn't find any hardware issues, the tech from last night ran a report and didn't find anything either, but after hours he ran a third report and that's when he found an axis failure in both stations. One station had a bad horizontal axis and the other had a bad vertical. I have no idea if those reports are real time or if they span a certain time frame, maybe it had to be running at the exact time of the grey screen. Anyway, I've only moved those stations 3 times, once to move to a bigger room, for a firmware upgrade and last night to change my play space, every time I treated those things like a priceless faberge egg. I dunno if those things are just prone to failing random or maybe there was a bad batch from the factory, but to have two go out seems highly unlikely. Well, I got a successful RMA for both, so I'm sending them in for repair. I think I heard a rumor about new base stations coming out that won't have moving parts, that seems like a better design, less moving parts = less problems. Moral of the story, maybe have the tech run a system report multiple times and when the issue actually occurs.
TL;DR: Tech had to run system report 3 times to find intermittent hardware issue, report might have to be running at the time of the issue.
Apologies in advance if my little tease before let someone set the bar too high. Following yesterday's tweets, Polyarc is bringing one of the best VR games I (imo ofc) have ever played to PC VR platform and does it instantly!

I hope you'll find a lot of fun in it and support the devs as folks at /r/PSVR are in desperate need of a sequel.

EDIT: Now fixed! HTC asked me to do this test and cameras worked instantly. It took 2 months, but they're working now https://forum.vive.com/topic/10254-htc-vive-pro-2-cameras-camera-communication-failed/page/3/
I have tried several different USB 3 ports. I have set the Windows 10 Camera privacy settings to allowed.
I still get the "camera communication failed" error when trying the camera test in SteamVR Camera settings.
I can see it in Device Manager. The camera is listed as Vive Pro Multimedia Camera.
The cameras does actually work when using 3rd party camera software like YAWCAM. Works without an issue.
In SteamVR the room view icon is greyed out, not an option to select it. Tried with edge of room and on controller options, nothing.
I've done the following too...
1/ In SteamVRβΊ SettingsβΊ DeveloperβΊclick the "Remove all SteamVR USB Devices" button near the bottom2/ Tested with SteamVR BETA3/ Uninstall SteamVR4/ Browse to the SteamVR folder and deleted any traces of it
Any help please? They worked before, but I had issues with this Vive Pro 2 and it had to go back to HTC Romania for "repairs". In the end I got a replacement Vive Pro 2. As stated, it's not a hardware issue as the cameras work using 3rd party software.
I very recently got myself a HTC Vive and I'm kind of lost browsing through Steam's VR catalog. My PC isn't exactly the most powerful, I have a GTX1060 so some of the most demanding games are out of reach unfortunately. (I tried Doom VFR and Fallout 4 and had to refund them because it was a blurry mess and wasn't really enjoyable if super sampling wasn't turned waaaay up)
So far I had some fun in the Lab, and tried out the Compound demo. I'm sad it's only in alpha and lacks tons of content, because god damn I love low-fi graphics and out of all the few demos and free games I tried, I though it that the one than had the most impact on me. Everything is crystal clear and I was fully immersed into the game.
I'm curently looking at Super Hot VR, I have heard nothing but praise for this game and seems to check the "isn't too hard on my computer and has fun gunplay" box.
Any other recommandations? I also enjoy good puzzle games, is there any inovative game that takes fully advantage of VR?
I can't seem to find any.

All it says for error is "switches off", but if you see my HTC forum post. I listed a lot more issues than that. The black lines, black screen, audio buzzing etc.
Have they looked at everything? I listed all of the above issues in a letter with the Vive Pro 2 parcel.

Here are my top 5 favorite HTC Vive games of 2017! I made a video better explaining my choices. Link below if you're interested.
5. Fallout 4 VR -- Fallout 4 is the most content-filled game available on the HTC Vive. We all know it's a desktop game port but most single-player story based Vive games are 5 hours or less, so Fallout 4 VR is a real treat! Let's hope they pan out performance issues as time goes on.
4. 2MD VR Football -- This was one of the most addicting Vive games I've played when it first came out. You play the quarterback, and can design plays effortlessly with a white board in the locker room. Some sort of multiplayer in the future would be amazing.
3. Ultrawings -- Like my number 4 pick this game is super, super addicting and it didn't take me long to hit 10 hours of play time. It was quite buggy deep into the game when it came out, but most issues have been fixed. If you like flight simulator mixed with arcade-like gameplay then I can easily recommend Ultrawings!
2. FORM -- FORM will go down as one of the most memorable experiences I've had in VR. The immersion was incredible, and something that goes VERY underappreciated in gaming is sound design. The sound effects were AMAZING, and really enhanced FORM's already immersive environment.
1. The Gallery Ep. 2: Heart of the Emberstone -- I loved The Gallery Episode 1 and episode 2 lived up to the hype in my opinion. The game has amazing visuals, stellar voice acting and some of the most creative puzzles I've seen in gaming (whether you think they're too easy or not is another matter). Sure there is quite a bit of loading, but I'm forgiving in that area because any game that uses massive amounts of assets/zones will require loading. Great, great game!

So I've been playing with the Vive for a week. Both VR specific games and trying to set up ED to work.
Everything looks great in the cockpit but everything else looks completely abysmal. I am aware of the "screendoor" effect and all that, and I accept it. But I am wondering if this is the best one can get from the game in VR or if there are settings I am missing that makes the graphics of the stars, stations, ships and other distant objects look like a game from the 90's? The stars for instance, if I look at them the resolution is so bad I see more the colored dots of the lens than the actual star. Structures on a space station, like railings etc, are so jaggied and bad resolution I barely even see them.
I love the Vive and the immersion in both ED and other VR games, but I am quite frankly disappointed in how ED presents it and given the fact people say ED looks "amazing" in VR I am wondering if I am doing something wrong.
My specs and settings: GTX 980ti i7 6700k 16GB RAM Win10 Latest drivers
SteamVR SS X1.0 and tried up to 2.0 Ingame settings almost everything is set to High. SS x0.65 HMD Image Quality X1.5 and tried up to 2.0.
Is this a problem with my pc, the vr, or the game? This has happened every time I play no matter what.
Hey Anton,
You put a lot of effort into ensuring that Rift users are happy, hand poses work with Touch controllers etc. Now there are Windows MR headsets and you support those as well. But still the Steam store page says HTC Vive only. You're losing more than a couple of sales that way, I imagine. So what's up?
Hello everyone!
We are the game developers of the many Vive (and some Oculus!) games that you have been playing, or are hoping to play soon. You have all been super supportive over the past few months, providing feedback, criticism, sharing and showing off our work and just generally being excited for VR gaming, and specifically gaming with the HTC Vive. We developers would have had a lot harder time these past few months without you all, so thank you very much for everything.
The list below is a compilation of VR gamedevs from all over the planet. These people have just as much passion for VR as you do and decided to jump into the world of VR gaming. I would go as far as to say that the list below is not a list of developers, but a list of VR gaming pioneers. Trying new things, experimenting with everything and taking risks. We don't know where the VR gaming train is going, but we do know that we all want to be on it for its journey.
To give some lovin' back to you guys, we're going to take any question you want to ask, with one exception: Sorry. No, we don't know when your Vive is shipping.
So. You got a question? Fire away!
Verification that I am me, coming in a minute.
EDIT: i would also trade the 1080Ti or Vive for a good condition Macbook or Macbook Pro
EDIT 2: as someone kindly pointed out, the 1080Ti is Nvidia brand, not EVGA
