A list of puns related to "Guardian (band)"
Blind Guardian gave me too high standards regarding metal music ! I could never find another band that would compete with them in my opinion. Do you have good bands recommendations, if you experienced the same thing?
Thank you for all the recommandations! I will have a month of new music to listen and it's so awesome β₯
Hey everyone. I've been a Blind Guardian fan for about 25 years, and recently I've been re-appreciating their early speed/thrash/power metal sound. I know that it was partially inspired by Iron Maiden, but that's not quite the sound I'm looking for... So far the only album that I could compare to Battalions of Fear and Follow the Blind's ''feel'' is Walls of Jericho by Helloween. Do you have any other suggestions for me?
for me it goes
The Doors.
They supported The Doors.
We've just released our Greatest Shit album.
Fellow Warlocks, it's time to rise with the flames and show the Hunters and Titans what a comeback is. We may have gotten last place last year, but if we band together, we can take home the gold this year. Watch this hand crafted video for inspiration to choose Warlock this year!

Looking for power metal on the heavier side of things. Any recommendations?
Edit: Already a Thrash and Melodic Death fan ( and non melodic). More interested in cleaner vocals.
Currently listening to Morgana LeFay based on a few recs here, good stuff so far.
Edit 2: I have a lot to go through so thanks to everyone who recommended. Look forward to checking out these bands (even all the melodeath lol).
Or to be more specific, which band has the greatest disparity between the quality of their music and the quality of their name?
My vote: The Flamin' Groovies
Such a great band with an absolute dog shit name.
I think the modern equivalent might be The War on Drugs.
Edit: (You all clearly didn't read this)
1. Don't just list bands with shitty names, you have to legitimately really love the band.
2. Not really looking for "difficult to google or pronounce" that's not really "bad" just annoying.
3. If the band's name is clearly a joke or intentionally bad I don't think that counts.
4. Sweet baby jeebus I can't believe how many people like The Butthole Surfers
Nine inch nails.
I should start a cover band called the blankets.
The Guardian has a yearly "Next Generation x: 20 of the best talents at Premier League clubs", starting from 2014. As an arsenal fan myself I wanted to see who was identified every year as the arsenal talent, and where they are now.
Starting from 2014, the first edition. It states that "The Guardian picks the best prospect from each club born between 1 September 1997 and 31 August 1998, an age band also known as first-year scholars".
Chris Willock: The former arsenal player, now of QPR is Joe Willocks brother. He never made it at arsenal, being released in 2017, and going to Benfica B. He is now 23 years old, playing regularly in the Championship.
Ainsley Maitland-Niles was 2 day off being eligible, as he was born on August 29th. Stephy Mavididi was at the club at the time, playing the same position as Chris Willock. He currently plays for Montpellier, after a move there from Juventus.
For Manchester United, The Guardian picked Marcus Rashford, while for Chelsea, Dominic Solanke was chosen.
The Guardian picks the best prospect from each club born between 1 September 1998 and 31 August 1999
Marcus McGuane: The player departed Arsenal in 2018, moving to Barcelona B. He currently is at Oxford United, after moving permanently following a loan deal there. He is 22.
Josh Dasilva is the first player I will mention. He is currently at Brentford, and will be playing in the Premier League next season. Next, is Arsenal's Eddie Nketiah, currently at the club but looking to possibly depart in the summer. Finally, Donyell Malen was in the academy at that time. He is currently at PSV and is a dutch international, playing 8 times and scoring 2 goals. Finally, Joe Willock, brother of Chris Willock, and current PL POTM was at the club during that period.
For Liverpool, The Guardian spotted Trent
... keep reading on reddit β‘I (27F) have two younger sisters who are 8 and 10. I love them dearly, they're amazing little girls and I'd do anything for them.
Recently a friend of my mum's died and it caused a whole issue because she was a single mother and there was a huge fight about custody of her daughter. It ended up with her moving away from where she lives now and she's having a really hard time adjusting.
It kind of kicked my mum and step dad into gear about making arrangements if something were to happen to them. My grandparents can't take them, they're too old now and they'd never be able to manage. They don't speak to my step dad's family or my mum's sister.
So my mum asked me. I told her that I would, but she and her husband both need to get life insurance. I don't make that much, I can't support two kids. And I work full time. My mum was furious, she just wants to make sure that they're looked after if something awful were to happen.
And I get that. But I make under Β£19,000 a year working full time. I'd have to go down to part time, which means I'd be on even less. My grandparents would obviously help but they're both flirting with their 90's and won't be around forever. I don't have a partner. It would just be me.
The last thing I want is for my baby sisters to go into care. But I can't look after them with no money. Life insurance is an expense that they could probably do without paying but if they want me to raise my sisters I'm going to need financial help.
Obviously there's very little chance of something happening to them, but there was very little chance of something happening to her friend, it was a total freak accident. They're both not happy with me, and my grandparents are staying out of it.
So, most power metal bands which I listen to are from countries where English is not the first language. Despite this these bands write long, complex or poetic songs in the English language. I am thinking about bands like Blind Guardian, Avantasia, Elvenking, Sonata Arctica, Lost Horizon. And I wonder what the native English fans think about lyrics in these songs.
