A list of puns related to "Gratitude journal"
I am so overwhelmingly sick of this whole Californian commercialized mental wellness trend of manifesting or visualizing or gratitude journaling or whatever the fuck itβs called. There are about one billion YouTube videos and podcasts out there selling the same βstart your morning routine at the crack ass of dawn to be extra successfulβ-bullshit content. Nothing anyone says is original anymore. Hot water with lemon does nothing. There is no such thing as βmanifestingβ things into existence. Just stop it. Please.
Edit: Please stop messaging me to argue about this
I made a 5 minute journal template based on the free download from intelligent change. Unfortunately they donβt sell a digital version so I created my own.

Ive lived 30 years in Holland without ever thinking about infrastructure. Since discovering NJB I watch and rewatch it often, usually right before I go to bed. It makes me grateful, calm and happy. I live in a suburb of a run of the mill Dutch village and knowing what living in a suburb looks like in other countries changed my attitude towards infrastructure immensely. This week I cycled with my toddler to the library, went to a cafe afterwards and picked up some fruit and vegetables at the local shop nearby before I went home. At every point in this trip I felt completely safe and I never was on my bike for more than 10 minutes at time. Before, this would be just another mom day. Now, I know how many people before me made the right choices over and over again for me to be able to do this. Thanks NJB, Im not taking it for granted anymore!
I've struggled the majority of my life with pretty bad anxiety and depression and defensive pessimism. On a whim, I decided to buy a gratitude journal and just, idk, TRY something different. I've been feeling pretty stuck lately. Some of the stuff in the beginning kinda struck me, like, "You can't fail at this, nobody is watching. This is just something you are doing for yourself." I have mild hope.
My mom is retired and thinks she probably has ADHD like me (NDX because she distrusts βbig Pharmaβ). Sheβs been depressed lately, so I like the idea of getting her a guided journal. The thing is, gratitude will only help so much, as she is also lonely. She has some trusted friends but rarely βgets around toβ calling them. Do you know of any journals that (among other prompts) specifically include prompts that help you increase connection outside your family?

Hi friends,
With Thanksgiving only a couple days away, I thought I would take a second and share my personal Gratitude Journal template with you (available in both Notion and Google Doc format).
Of all practices Iβve tried to make myself a happier, more self-aware, and more content person, no practice has been better for my mental health than daily gratitude journaling π
Enjoy! π

Google Doc template: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1PRgHnH_RdDkK8jQkQLKQMGj2rjHAozKBGVIz0bXSCFk/edit?usp=sharing
P.S. I wrote a blog post with more details on the template, including how to use it, and my recommended tips and best practices for gratitude journaling. You can find the post here.
Welcome to the Weekly Gratitudes Discussion! Please take note of the rules in the sidebar, read the wiki, and remember to stay civil and polite when commenting.
There is no requirement for the number of gratitudes you post per day, or the frequency of your posts but as this study from from Robert A. Emmons and Michael E. McCullough demonstrated, who asked participants to write down five gratitudes, hassles, or events over the past week for ten weeks, the participants who wrote down 5 gratitudes each day over a 10 week period were happier and physically healthier.
That's the intention of the Weekly Gratitudes Discussion and Accompanying Rewards, to encourage the community to achieve a happier and physically healthier life.
Feel free to use this thread to introduce yourself when sharing your daily gratitudes.

... keep reading on reddit β‘Hello! A gratitude journal is very helpful for me and my everyday life. So I am developing an application that serve as a gratitude journal where the user can write things that he or she is grateful for everyday. (I am thinking of at least 3 things are needed everyday) .
My plan is to put up a badge system where you can see how many grateful things you've listed and see how you're friends are doing as well.
Do you have any ideas or features you would like to see implemented in an application like this? It would really help me on my development process. Thank you!
I've been writing in a journal daily for over two months and over this period I have partaken in gratitude journaling which I have found has had a positive impact on my mental health. As I'm a, soon-to-be, student journalist, I have decided to write an article on the benefits of journaling and would like to hear about other people's experiences with gratitude journaling and the way in which it has helped them. If you would be interested in talking to me about this topic, which I would greatly appreciate, reply to this post in the affirmative or DM me. I hope that you are all having a lovely day.
Edit: Thank you for everyone's responses. They have been incredibly insightful and hearing about how expressing gratitude through writing has helped you all has given me great joy. You are all awesome.
To those of you heroes who are suffering through that sofa slugging brain foggy depression, please start gratitude journaling.
I get it; running, meditation and even eating well is way out of the picture right now, so just start with the most simple exercise of practising gratitude.
When you wake up, donβt go on your phone, donβt hide behind the cigarette and pause on the coffee! Open your note book or journal or takeaway menu and just start the morning by writing just 3 things that you are grateful for.
Itβs that easy, it might be tricky first of all when you only have negative thought patterns but trust me it gets easier. Just two minutes writing stuff like:
Warm bed
Soft cat
Nice cup of tea
As days pass you will get more creative but just make sure thatβs the first thing you do, after you can go on the phone or watch tv and distract away. (For me it was YouTube)
You can look at all the technical blah blah of deepening neural pathways and that but trust me. Spending a few minutes in the morning forcing your thoughts towards the more positive aspects of life really can get that wheel moving.
Either way, I get that even this can be too much. If you are in that deep depression and every day is a struggle then know you are a not alone and it does get better.
Take care X
I have been doing cognitive behavioral therapy to help manage my ADHD, Anxiety, PTSD, and Functional Neurological Disorder. I use the bullet journal to keep track of my symptoms, activity, and schedule but my therapist thinks I should start keeping a journal to reconnect with my emotions and do a gratitude log to help steer my mind in a positive direction. At this point I want to do it in my bujo so I can have it all in one place. I feel like I finally like my daily template and Iβm not sure I want to change it to accommodate these new requests. How would you suggest I incorporate these elements into my bullet journal?
I recently got an iPad for school and I want to use it for a daily gratitude practice as well. So far, I have been writing down 3 things in the morning, but I am not very...'good' at it. I struggle to think of 3 things even though I know I have innumerable things to be grateful for. I think some guided practice or a simple prompt that changes daily would help me a lot.
Some bonus features I think would be cool, if they exist:
I know I won't find all these features together, but I'm hoping someone has a suggestion. I have tried a few, but none have really stood out to me.
Thanks in advance!
Do gratitude journals actually work? My therapist keeps insisting on them helping me become more positive but I haven't been feeling this effect on me.
I've been thinking about buying one, but first I want to hear from you guys.
How has it improved your outlook on life?
I have a βGratitude Journalβ note in my phone that I record my grateful thoughts 3 times a day. I want to be held more accountable as well as gain inspiration from others or inspire others. So I made r/thingsiamgratefulfor .
This post is in invitation (as well as a challenge) to join me in posting what we are grateful for 3 times a day (morning, noon, & night) for 30 days.
My first post was expressing gratitude for what is around me right now (my dog, leather sofa, music, etc.)
I do it already in private, might as well do it in public and possibly help one personπ
