Now, to the meat of the question, everyone around me and on the internet thinks gender roles is hell for women and beneficial for men, and because of this, I also grew up thinking that gender roles were created to benefit men and oppress women. I really hated them, especially since I am a woman.
My boyfriend (20M) is a very traditionally conservative man and loves the idea of gender roles, so I (20F) tried to get him to dislike them, then he told me he wanted to follow them because he wants to provide everything for me, and protect me from harm. So I asked him what he wants in return, and he said that he just wants me to love him. Then I started rethinking gender roles.
I'm not saying gender roles are always easy for women, but it is definitely better than the male gender role. Even if you look at traditional gender roles, the husband is expected to provide money for the whole household, and pay for wives' and kids' food, shelter, schooling, medicine, and entertainment. In addition, if the family ever goes out and an attacker befalls them, he is expected to give up his life to save them. He is also expected to do the most difficult and laborious work in the home, such as cleaning the gutter, taking out the trash, and fixing furniture, etc.
All of this responsibility can cut into time with his children. There has been many a custody battle where a man spent so much time working to provide for his family, that he didn't spend that much time with his child, and the mother gets full custody of the child because of this.
Due to these roles, men are more unhappy at work than women, work longer hours, do more dangerous and dirty jobs, get murdered more, live shorter, and have a lower quality of life in general.
One thing I hear from feminists is accusations of the double burden, that women have to go to work and then come home and do all the housework while the man lies on the coach watching TV. But this is untrue for most couples, as men actually do 4 MORE hours of work a week, [Source]

Wow, I know some people are not good conversationalists but this guy actually just tried to claim he didnβt believe in asking questions! After like 20 messages back and forth I noticed he hadnβt asked a single question (I was playing along for my own entertainment to see how far it could go). I finally just had to ask about it. And he told me he didnβt ask questions because statements are much more engaging, and βwho wants to be asked 20 questions anywayβ π
What are some of the more ridiculous conversational oddities youβve run into lately?
I have been following CSGO since 2016 and the recent rules and regulations just bothered me so much that I really want to make a discussion thread here. Most people have been talking about it, and I'd like to voice my opinion on this as well.
I think both of the rules will do more harm than good and here are the reasons why.
The restrictions of coach involvements during the game
I believe that most people here have already voiced strongly about this. I don't agree to the new rules either. They're on LAN. They're playing the highest level of CS. That's the whole point of a coach being there.
For the argumentative standpoint that this will create the same environment as MM games. Well, you can have a coach there. People can just stream on their Discord and let the 6th member tell the strats. There's also stream sniping, cheating, etc. that would affect the plays. So? Is this really creating the same scenario as MM games?
Some also said that the coaches can send info to the players via touching / body language / etc. but the question is "is that actually cheating"? I don't see a point of letting 5 players who are in the servers do everything by themselves. We are talking about the highest level of CSGO right now. By having extra input, it doesn't create unfairness. Rather it creates an opportunity to play the game better. Imagine football coaches can't stand next to the pitch. Are they affecting the players? Yes! and that's for the better. Psychological aspects are always important in CSGO and any sport.
By limiting the external factor like "coaches", does that actually lead to a more fair game? Aren't coaches working for creating the best CSGO plays/strategies that we could watch? We want to see plays evolve in a better way and sometimes the meta isn't creating from the people who play the game. Rather the people who sit behind and see things through a different views.
It might not be fair like 100% fair and right. But having coaches animating, doing their jobs are fun to watch. And that's the point of esports. That's the point of any entertainment sports. You're having fun.
Limiting those, and you see a more stale environment. In a long term, there might not even be a coach anymore. But that doesn't lead to better things, right? As a viewer, it's not even fun. Valve is limiting humans to do inhumane things. It's just not right.
The changes to "team huddle"
This recent rule that limited the team to be sit down for 5 mins before the game st

This has been going on slowly since May this year, but has been ramping up in activity. For the last couple of weeks though, I've had things move around in front of me which shouldn't be possible, lights flickering and blowing out, rancid smells(rotting meat/eggs), foot steps walking, running or stomping up to my door or down the hallway, knocking sounds(usually 3 or 7 times) banging, the door handle being tugged up and down rapidly, doors opening and closing by themselves, my bed shaking/vibrating, seeing things, getting stuck in some kind of paralysis where my eyes were stuck open that I have to fight myself out of after being wide awake (only happens when the black thing with red/orange is around), phone and pc glitching out (instead of letters or numbers, it's some tiny weird symbols or they act by themselves), seeing this "creature" (I refuse to look in its direction now and quickly turn away), my dog looking up and barking and growling at something following it with it's eyes, he also whines, starts crying and shaking, and he loses his shit when everything I mentioned above happens. He was the most chill dog in the world, and now he seems to be always on alert and anxious. We're both exhausted.
I left for my mother's before the weekend, hoping I could get away or have a break from this, but now it's happening here too. This has happened in the past at other places, but not as much as this.
It just won't stop.
I occasionally wake up with bruises and scratches, handprints on my arms and legs or weird looking rashes that look very dark red/black. It disappears within a day or two and with my electronics being on the frits, it either doesn't save the photos or the pictures come up completely black or messed up.
I've seen a doctor, a psychologist, had an MRI, tried different medications for around a month, from month to month to see if it helps, nothing does. They can't figure out what's causing it and I seemingly don't have any mental disorders from their professional opinion. I could have done the bruising and scratching in my sleep, I had a large left handprint on my left arm, which I couldn't have made myself. My rash, though not ordinary, I got cream for even though it disappears rather quickly so I never bother with the cream. I would rather I be sick and have this sorted with a pill, but my partner and mother has experienced it, all different places, not just in my apartment.
Please help me get rid of this thing. Though my mother

>"A very good remaster with solid technical improvements where they can be applied and transparently allowing the Alan Wake story to be experienced again or the first time."
AltChar - Semir Omerovic - 8 / 10
>Over a decade since the original dropped on Xbox 360, Remedy Entertainment's thriller-horror Alan Wake still has the capacity to outshine modern horror games that rely on cheap jump scares, leaving aside the most important aspect of a true horror story - creating an eerie atmosphere with excellent writing, story and characters.
Cerealkillerz - Manuel Barthes - German - 8.3 / 10
>Alan Wake Remastered is the prime example of a video game that has aged extremely well. Even today, the gameplay and the exciting storyline are more than impressive. Although you can't quite keep up with Control graphically, the idyllic town of Brightfalls shines in an acceptable shine. If you also consider the price, then Alan Wake Remastered is a must for all fans of the genre, whether connoisseurs or newcomers.
Cultured Vultures - Ash Bates - 8 / 10

On Thursday and Friday I played around 15 games of DR. I won probably half of them and I ended up with my 7/7 wins. From there on, I knew I was done for the week so I decided to experiment. I changed playing styles. I changed formation. I fielded my silvers. I played with my Serie A team. I didnβt care if I won or lost, which unsurprisingly made me play better!! I am not stressed. I am actually having fun playing the game the way I enjoy it. Almost like a revelation, I started seeing spaces on the pitch that I would not normally see because I was looking for the shortest path to goal.
Then I faced and opponent who went 2β1 up in the 55th minute, and then proceeded to pass the ball around in his box, and wasting time! I smiled. I am fine, I donβt need to get triggered by this. I tried to pressure him, but it didnβt work. My team was probably not set up for that, or maybe there is a problem in the game. It is ok. It didnβt bother me.. he ran down the clock. I checked my WhatsApp and message. Game finished. I wasnβt angry. We move on.
Then I tried some friendlies. Saw an objective that I can finish in SB. I already made good progress with the objective in DR without even noticing. Then, I closed UT and played some ProClubs.
It was good, relaxing, entertaining, and sometimes amusing! Not at any point was it infuriating or anger-inducing.
I am enjoying my Guerreiro at LB, and my Witsel in CM. I like my Ginter IF in Defense and Kruse RTTK in attack.
This is the best experience Iβve ever had with FUT
To hell with packs and rewards. I donβt need Mbappe to have fun.
Basically, my family lives in a smallish town in PA and I wanted to move to one of the big east coast cities mostly for entertainment reasons. I grew up in the small town. But, white collar job opportunities outside of healthcare and government work are lacking.
Also, I feel like the Sikh communities are much stronger in these cities, due to time and size established. In my hometown, it seems like it's hard to get people to go to the gurdwara, even on Sundays. And then, there isn't as much katha/learning/camps for young kids.
However, I feel like I am taking the easy way out and am chasing the maya of the city (ie. having access to more goods/services, easier access to tourist attractions, access to an international airport, less driving needed usually). I am in a career where I can make $200k+ anywhere in the USA.
Should I feel this way? Many of my cousins/brothers that grew up with me in the area also want to move away to a bigger city. I want some outside perspective on my situation.
I love video games not just because of the entertainment they provide, but also as a form of art.
That is why I try to play as many genres and classics as possible. I want to experience as much as there is to experience. I also want to be able to talk about classics to other passionate video game fans. And this also entails trying out classics I have never played before.
For some reason, even though I had a SNES, I never played Super Metroid. I just started the game a few days ago on Switch. I know it's still seen as one of the best metroidvanias and that it was instrumental in creating the genre.
I did enjoy it at first, but even before getting to Maridia it was becoming frustrating. I discovered I really dont enjoy not knowing where to go. And now in Maridia I'm just not having fun. So i dont think I'm gonna finish it. But this still makes me feel kinda guilty - because I think it's a classic one should have played and finished at least once.
There have been other classics I've struggled with, while others I have loved. Pls do share your own experiences, too.
EDIT: I'm surprised this topic got so many replies, but I'm thankful for it. It's good to know there are others who feel this way, and others who convincingly argue why one shouldnt feel guilty or like every classic. It certainly has helped me a lot. Thanks to everyone who took the time to reply! I have read and will read EVERY comment, so feel free to keep sharing, I find this all super interesting and I love the different takes.
That's because they're coughy filters.
Good morning everyone. It is truly PROG fever all over social media and Reddit. Even Atlas trading confirmed around 3PM that they were heavy on PROG. They have well over 100,000 paid members that are ready to front load [Buy Shares] before releasing tickers to the public so that they can move rocksβ¦ which is fine, we can play that gameβ¦ One of there generals around 3PM did a screen shot which showed they were all playing PROG at 9:55AM.. This general even touted that he is buying a brand new Nissan SUV for another member.. This gives you an idea of how sure they are in movement as they have well over 100k paid subscribers..I started throwing grenades July 1st and have been studying them, the timing and started using stocktwits, twitter to estimate how they move, when they move and whose moving themβ¦. However I had several PMs from members that arenβt even from my Elite team. Now, I am a nice guy, I get 100+ different messages a day from people on Reddit. I watch over them and we chat on Reddit, Whatsapp text if neededβ¦some have called me.. That is fine, they are donating monthly.. Some donate a few hundred monthly. That is not the concernβ¦ the concern is I am nice enough that even during trading hours, I am still working full time, I will still answer these messages. Now these members get entries and exits all dayβ¦ on grenades they move so quickly that I try and give them an idea pre market what I hope to pay, but sometimes I cant alert them quick enough because of lettuce hands, minute tradesβ¦. However this specific conversation was troublingβ¦ I stopped replying, I didnβt respond upset, but it did irk me a little, because this type of hand trading is something I would do for my team, some who have been with me since February! I am going to shorten it. I am not banning this member or anything, I am not mad at this member, but I want this member to see things from my viewpointβ¦.Remember.. my view point. As the title says. I'm totally new to this genre DCC being the only one I've read thus far.
I've been pretty sceptical about litrpg in the past. Probably cause of some shitty anime cringefests, but DCC is the shit man I need more. The most entertaining book I've read in a long time.
I generally don't like this much silliness and humour, but the way in which it's integrated in the story and juxtaposed over the horrific circumstances of our mc who's just as annoyed with it as I normally would be is just perfect.
It strikes a good balance of not taking itself too seriously and taking seriously enough.
So anyway is there anything else in this genre I should read or should I just go back and listen to the audiobooks as apparently I made a mistake reading it the first time.
As the title says, my husband made a Monster Hunter campaign. I'm the only player, but maybe some day we can do a separate campaign with more friends. We're just both super big into Monster Hunter fans which is why right now it's just me and he's the DM.
The setting of this campaign is my character is the captain of the first fleet sent out to explore the New World. My husband's changed up a few things in this world and this means the land my fleet comes from has never seen anything like the creatures in the New World. Maybe Aptonoths and Larinoths, but things like a Rathalos were said to only exist in legends. Not even wingdrakes were known. So when a Rathalos attacked my incoming airship, the whole fleet was taken aback. It makes it very interesting when he's describing a monster as if I've never seen it. It's fun to try to piece together what I'm encountering.
Couple of examples, after driving off a pack of Jagras to establish a base camp at a massive waterfall area, my fleet started noticing footprints similar to a Jagras, only much bigger. So my character and her Palico decide to try scouting out what it could be. While staking out a creek we followed the footprints to, an Aptonoth appeared to drink from the water. Shortly afterward, a "huge, black and pink dinosaur beast" came charging from the woods, attacking the Aptonoth with "fire in its mouth." I got really giddy realizing I was looking at an Anjanath. Another encounter was a short one hour session my husband did for Halloween, a sort of sneak peek into the Rotten Vale, where a researcher disappears down a cave and another hunter trying to rescue him got traumatized by a "massive spiked creature. So many spikes and blood." Come to find out, I encounter the large spiked creature and discover it's a Radobaan, as well as Odogaron, described as a "large dog as if it had been skinned, with huge gnashing teeth."
My husband also tweaked the way Elder Dragons are in this world. Similar to Anjanath and Rathalos, dragons were thought to only be legends by my fleet, until Kushala Daora appeared. After a horrible incident where an Anjanath invaded my base camp and killed 6 of my soldiers before we managed to kill it, that night, a "massive dragon with skin of steel" appeared, wanting to speak to me. My husband gave Elder Dragons the ability to speak, and while they aren't gods, some of them certainly see themselves as such. Kushala calls himself "Eye of the Storm Given Breath" and is presented as ver

So sorry in advance if your favourite streamer isn't in a team. Make your own then lol. Also I can't be bothered to do the image format, sorry. And the numbers after the teams are their averages.

lime llamas - punz, krtzy, captainpuffy, nihachu = 8,628
punz, krtzy duo. insanely cracked. also puffy + nikki duo. this team just would have great vibes, and also be very good. lets get nikki her first win <3.
green geckos - hbomb, captainsparklez, pearlescentmoon, geminitay = 8,394
extremely wholesome vibes. captain can have a pg team. this team is definetely better than the average gives them credit for. good at team games.
cyan coyotes - petezahhutt, smajor, rendog, katherineelizabeth = 8,568
also great vibes. pete, hermitcraft and empires crossover. and the return of katherine! (tried to put scott on a seperate team for 5 times winners sake, but then I couldn't include the lords or red or have to cut an s tier out of the event. but if anyone should get 5 wins together its pete and scott). good at team games.
aqua axolotls - fruitberries, antfrost, theorionsound, kryticzeuz = 8,280
a competitive team for my boy zeuz! these are 3 people he mentioned he wanted to team with, and this team is way underrated by their stats. fruit and ant are cracked, and oli brings the fun vibes. what could be better for an up-and-coming competitive player? (sadly he wouldn't be playing with sasha to make it more balanced, and i dont just want them to be competitive only on teams with 2 s tiers.)
blue bats - illumina, finnster, wisp, 5up = 8,526
im proud of this one. its an unlikely combination, but one i

When we arrived at the reception with our children (ages 1, 3, and 5), I thought we must be in the wrong place, because it was styled with art decor objects resembling brightly colored toys in easy reach of little hands.
To be clear, this was a party for a toddler and little kids were invited. While the catering did include food for kids, the venue wasn't remotely child-friendly and there weren't any toys or activities to keep them busy. My spouse didn't exactly ignore our kids, but he was content to let them run around with the others without keeping a close eye on them. I spent the whole event steering kids away from the fragile decor and entertaining them with some small toys I had in my bag.
That night, when the kids were asleep, my spouse started talking about how much he had enjoyed the party and how sweet it was to see all the children playing together for the first time. I agreed the kids were cute, but said I thought it was a bizarre place for a toddler's party and I found it stressful.
He said it was a lovely event and didn't see what my deal was, so I pulled up some pictures on my phone to show him the perilous decor. He said it looked like random crap from Target and didn't believe me when I told him the prices, so I started pulling up websites showing how much these things cost. Then he said so what - our kids had fun, they didn't break anything, and even if they had, it's not like the venue would've made us pay for it.
I reiterated that the reason the kids didn't damage anything was because I kept on top of them, so I couldn't relax and enjoy the party.
My spouse said I was being negative because I don't like his friend (true - we've never liked each other). He said I was obsessed with the price of the venue's decor because I think his friend's wealth is from a reprehensible source (I do), but his friend can have his own party for his own kid wherever he wants.
Then he got really sarcastic and said he was sOooOo sOooOoRrY we don't have such nice things, but he'd save up real hard to get me my own expensive decor object because I dEsERvED iT. (He knows this isn't something I like or want.)
I said he was being a turd.
Weeks later, he is still bringing up expensive decor objects.
My mom says I should apologize because my spouse has a sore spot about growing up in a financially insecure household and neve

The film is about finding out a Black girlβs name who two strangers found decapitated on Feb. 28, 1983 in an unabandoned building located at 5635 Clemens Avenue in the cityβs West End neighborhood. It was a part of a larger community originally called Cabanne.
In the film, Joseph Burgoon, a former detective who worked on the case until his retirement, said the strangers were rummaging for scraps after their car broke down. One of the men flickered their lighter and saw her body laying in a corner of the basement.
Burgoon said the unnamed men ran outside and immediately called police to report the incident.
He also said he and other officers initially thought she was an adult prostitute or a drug addict because she was laying face down nude, but when they turned her over, they realized she was a child.
Eric McAlister, who lived two blocks over from the crime scene, said at the screening he wanted to give his perspective as a ten-year-old boy.
He said he was at the crime scene and witnessed commotion from adults who were concerned about the tragedy.
βMy friends and I came from the park, and all the kids gathered around to see over the crowd,β he said. βWe climbed this tree that was about 12 feet high for a visual over top of the crowd to see what was going on, and we heard it was a deceased body. We didnβt know the details. Then, as minutes went by with talk from the crowd, it was revealed it was a child.β
The question was asked if the situation had a major effect on his childhood at the screening, and he said it not only affected him, but it impacted the community.
He said families werenβt allowed to visit and spend the night at each otherβs house anymore. He added schools were stricter about attendance by doing headcounts every day and accounting for every child in their classroom.
Burgoon said he and other officers contacted schools in town about missing children, but they ran into some challenges. It was later determined kids were unable to be tracked after transferring schools due to schools terminating secretaries because of a budget crisis. Police notified families, but

I just finished reading the manga to the latest chapter and I did that in a very small time as the story was so exciting and entertaining.
But IDK if I am wrong but I think that this show is just too much underrated, Like I found it's all episodes on Youtube and are for free and I had no idea about it and what was sad is that the Number of views it had was only 3 Million max. Like something as good as this for free and people have no idea about it.
And seems like we can't support them by buying their manga as there is no English version of manga?
Idk just felt really bad that this masterpiece is hidden so I want someone to explain to me that is this really very underrated or it's in good shape Like tell me what is the condition of this manga/anime.
I hope this show/manga gets more recognition in coming future
Okay so, this is the first time I'm writing an appreciation post here on r/kpopthoughts, so please BEAR WITH ME.
Our main twerker, Choi Jisu, this is for you.
I've seen some appreciation posts for Lia (Well, at least on my end), so I'm going to add just one more.
Oh, Lia, Lia, the person whose eye smile can light up a whole universe. A proud mother of a Pomeranian named Bella. Lia is naturally comedic, genuinely sweet, insane at falsettos, and also the same person that ordered halal one day. As it was dark, and she was eating it inside a car, she accidentally spilled hot sauce on her favorite light purple pants and decided to cut it into shorts right after the incident. Only to realize that she could actually wash the stain off. Yep, the same person. No biggie.
Lia may not be the first member that caught my eye when I started supporting ITZY way back when they were debuting last 2019, but she soared up my bias list by A LOT and finally became my bias. She always gives her best, even when she's feeling unwell during a performance, and it's honestly satisfying to see her improve a lot, day-by-day!
Lia is just very funny, cute, a ball of sunshine, thoughtful, mature, random, and unexpectedly unexpected (In a good way)? Something like that. I mean, look. She suddenly drops at least 3-10 photos in one day, either on Instagram or Bubble (I appreciate that she does this a lot, and it's like something I'm anticipating for every time!), then dips out after a few words and comes back after several days/weeks. Another one would be this one occurrence where she asked us what her new hobby was on Bubble at around 8 PM KST, went and ghosted us, and answered at 2 AM KST, telling us she's sorry and revealed the hobby was collecting washi tapes. Well, yup, that happened. It was funny tbh π
And lastly, I'M SO HAPPY THAT LIA LANDED AN OST JOB! She has one of my favorite vocal tones in KPOP, and I was quite surprised when the news came out and spread like wildfire because I didn't think that it would happen that soon. Also, it's JYPE. I WAS REALLY SHOCKED.
She uprightly DESERVES IT. So, here is an appreciation post for her! My singer Lia, if you were to see yourself through my eyes, only then will you realize how special you are to me and MIDZYs. Thank you Jisu for being the lovable person you are today and the amazing woman you are. Keep being you beca

Recently I stumbled upon a post asking people what is stopping them to finish/work on their projects. After some thinking, the art portion of gamedev is always giving me problems as purchasing assets is not an option for me. See, I encourage people to learn to draw/model/whatever as I am learning myself, but these category of games are worth a discussion.
So, what about games with minimalistic art ?
What I mean by minimal is that the time to create and skills needed is way lower than actual art, these games compensate with other things such as shaders and using simple shapes, shadows, symbols for the visual part. Picking a small colour pallete is also an option. As for pure gameplay they must be really well designed to keep the player entertained, despite the visuals being subpar. An example of such games would be VVVVV, Thomas Was Alone, SNKRX, Dwarf Fortress and others.
When analysing what I do as a consumer/player, a tendency is that mostly I would open/click on games that look good and rarely give chance on things not catching my eye. Maybe it is personal preference, but why would someone not having knowledge about two games choose the uglier one ?
What do you people think about games with such minimalistic art? How would they attract players when the first thing that people see is the visual side? Is it possible for solo developers to utilise this approach effectively or are these games more of an one hit wonder? I would love to hear your thoughts as I may not be right about my observations.
Its crazy how time flies.
The first warm day in weeks, I step out for my run in shorts and a tank, and within 30 seconds a man is yelling at me from his truck.
Do you not realize how unnerving it is to be minding your business in your own neighborhood, where presumably you should feel the safest, and someone starts yelling at you from their car, or worse, honking AND yelling?
I donβt care about your intent, or that you find the woman youβre perceiving to be remarkably attractive. What youβre saying is this: you are not safe, you exist for my entertainment, I do not respect you as a person or for the stranger you are. You belong to me.
Just stop. If you didnβt know, now you do. Do better. If you continue with this behavior please also purchase a bumper sticker that says βI donβt respect women,β so we can all avoid you.
Hope everyone except that prick in the pickup is enjoying this beautiful day.

Now onto After The End - Chapter 9 'When Enemies Meet'
Supreme Mage Vesuvius Blotch walked through the halls of the High Sanctuary, calm and confident. Fenix had received word from Mr. Bones, BipBap and Ash. They had all accepted the scheduled meeting that Vesuvius had proposed. It was long overdue, this meeting. As some of the most powerful individuals in Roarhaven, they oversaw how the districts, and Roarhaven as a whole, was run. They, by extension, also worked very closely with other esteemed members of Roarhaven; Bondand Lone, who ran the Bank Of Roarhaven in the Financial District, Principal Gnosis at Corrival Academy in the Cultural District, Vaurien Scapegrace, owner of the Roarhaven Pub and Reverie Synecdoche, owner of the largest private medical practice in Roarhaven. A sophisticated, complex network of individuals working together to run the largest sorcerer city in the world.
But before he met with them, he had two very important people to talk to. He was already running late, so he was walking quickly. Down in the lower levels of the High Sanctuary, they kept more sensitive documentation, equipment and objects that required scientific analysis. Stepping through a doorway, he immediately saw two men standing in the middle of a circular room with a low ceiling, and Golb to the right, sweeping dust with his broom. Both men turned to look at him, smiling with respect and kindness in their eyes. Maltese Farrell was a tall man of 6β1 stature, muscular in build and athletic by nature, fitted nicely by his robes that singled him out as a Grand Mage. His discipline as a Bone-breaker was at odds, however, with his kindly nature. It was an odd choice; a violent discipline taken on by a caring man. His black hair and d
