Glenn Talbot Puns

Spoilers if you haven't watched the whole arc.

But the writers did Talbot so dirty turning him into a bad guy. Obviously he lost it as a hydra prisoner and exposed to gravitomium, but damn. Felt so bad for the guy after everything he went through.

Not to mention, he had the best line in the whole series right before that, "I would rather die on my two legs than slither on eight with you."

I'm rewatching the series for the third time. In season 2 episode 1, we meet Glenn Talbot's son for the first time. Carla says he is 11. So in 2018 (season 5), he should be 15 or 16. But he still looks 11. What happened?

It was said that Ruby's genetic was optimize for infusion yet after 8% she is already out of control and eating her away. But Talbot is just a regular dude, not even inhuman aka Daisy, how can he willy nilly become Graviton? It's like "being design for the infusion process" does not even make a difference. Red Skull got the serum and he got a deformed face and Talbot just comes out perfectly normal? The Graviton reveal was great but all the backstory on Hale and Ruby becomes moot.

ETA: I am not having problems with Ruby losing control because of the voices, I am having problems with Talbot not having any problems from the Gravitonium. His mind state may be strong enough/unhinged enough to suppress/control the voices but that doesn't negate the fact that his body an ordinary human body can go through the process without a single side effect. And if you say "anybody can get in the chamber, he's just lucky", then my point is, Ruby's engineered DNA backstory becomes irrelevant.

Is Glenn Talbot supposed to be some minor hero/villain? I can’t seem to find anything on him. I have loved his character development throughout the seasons. Going from enemy to ally to enemy again. Just curious if he is supposed to represent some unmentioned character.

I wanted to post this thought here rather than in r/marvelstudios bcs I'd probably get bashed by the "non-MCUists".

I watched Eternals yesterday and it was wonderful, but something that triggered me a bit was how Tiamut hosted on Earth and reminded me of how Graviton (Glenn Talbot) was so powerful at the end of S5. If he managed to destroy Earth, he probably had to deal with an awakened Tiamut. One could argue that by the time of the destruction the celestial was still an embryo and could not defend itself, but then I saw a theory that Tiamut was supposed to wake up in 2018, but it was slowed to 2023 due to the Snap (as Ajak said: when everyone came back, it gathered the ammount of energy necessary for the Emergence to happen).

Maybe what caused Earth's destruction wasn't Graviton but the Emergence triggered by his earthquakes

I have gotten to season 3 of my latest rewatch and as I watch this time, I cannot help but notice that my appreciation of Carla Talbot has increased. I mean considering what she went through:

1. Her first interaction with Creel while she was with George (her son) and Glenn (her husband) where Glenn was essentially kidnapped by SHIELD (mind you this was after SHIELD collapsed).

2. Nearly being shot by her own husband when she was just visiting him for Taco Tuesday

3. losing George (albeit temporarily) to Hydra as soon as Glenn becomes the head of the ATCU

4. Glenn being shot by "Daisy"

5. dealing with Glenn's temper in the hospital as he recovers from the shot.

6. Glenn being kidnapped by Hydra (well at least Hale) from the hospital.

7. Glenn's surprise visit home where it became clear that the man Carla loved is now too far gone and actually tried to kill her.

8. The aftermath of the battle between Graviton and Quake (Battle of Chicago) which supposedly left Glenn dead in space and her to raise their now teenage son on her own.

Carla clearly loves Glenn but he was put through too much for their marriage to last. If Glenn's arc can be considered tragic. Carla's arc is similarly tragic yet she stands by Glenn for longer than she probably should have because she knew, at least some of, what he had been through.

Spoilers for seasons 5 and 6 of agents of shield!!!!!!!!!

This show is amazing. No wonder it is my second favorite show as I said before. Getting from the future where the earth is broken apart which turns out to be Glenn Talbot who destroyed it. The kree ruling the humans and treating them as slaves. Then, coulson and his friends returning to the normal timeline to save the world from destruction. Until they change the future and save earth but fitz and coulson die :( . Up until we know in season 6 that fitz is still alive because the one died is future fitz, so they go save him. Then coulson? Is this coulson being brainwashed or something? I don't want spoilers but how could coulson live and be a completely different person? I am hoping it is really him upon finishing season 6 because I want him back even though I liked mack as the new director of shield.

I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.

Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.

Alot of great jokes get posted here! However just because you have a joke, doesn't mean it's a dad joke.

A few years ago I compiled this for fun, now I try to remember to update it each year.

In some cases, the regular season backup goalie became the de facto starter in the playoffs (like when Cam Ward led the Hurricanes to their first cup), in these cases I listed the goalie who played fewest games for the team in the playoffs as their backup for that year. One exception is with Pittsburgh in 2016/2017, where Fleury actually played more playoff games than Murray, but Murray had stolen the starting job otherwise.
