A list of puns related to "Gibraltarians"
Hi! Just out of curiosity as a non EU citizen now residing in Gibraltar, what is the most Gibraltarian thing (regardless it being good or bad) you can think on top of your mind? :)
One of my favourite things to do is to research different countries and cultures and I recently started researching the history and culture of Gibraltar and I find it all so fascinating especially learning the history of the different ethnic groups that came to Gibraltar. So I was just wondering if any Gibraltarians have done DNA testing (like Ancestry or 23andMe)?
Sorry if you have already seen this post on the 23andme sub. I was just wondering have any Gibraltarians tested here? I have been researching the history and culture of Gibraltar leisurely so I thought it would be interesting to see some results.

How everyone doing during lockdown
So I'm several years in my gilbraltarian league save and realised that it's hard coded that I can't get more qualification spots, thinking of doing another save in the lower leagues however is this the case for any other leagues as I don't want to start another save and have this happen again
I donβt mean to stoke argument or divisiveness with this question. I desire to learn. If there are good resources for me to read so I can understand on my own, Iβd welcome your suggestions.
I know that Gibraltar voted overwhelmingly to remain in the EU. I also know Scotland is rumbling about a second independence referendum, and everyone is tearing their hair out about Northern Ireland, its border with Ireland, the backstop, and potential reunification.
Given Gibraltarβs steadfast commitment to its Britishness and its overwhelming desire to stay in the EU, as well as its past struggles with Spain, Iβm curious.
How do Gibraltarians see this conundrum? What are the ideas and thoughts being debated in Gibraltar about how to respond? How is HMβs Government advocating for you and your unique position in negotiations? Are you satisfied with it? What do Gibraltarians want?
So, I was inspired by the request for a Falkland Islander IAMA, and decided to create my own IAMA...
The most major question I predict first and formost is: Do you consider yourself to be British? And the answer is:
Yes. 100%. There's no leeway on this. Spain are in the wrong. And they have been for the passed 60 or so years since they started giving a damn after Queen Elizabeth II's visit in the mid 50s/60s. My justification is that Spain handed over all posession of the Rock about 300 years ago under the Treaty of Utrecht, and whilst the Spanish Govt consider it still to be valid, and that the clause stating if the British were to relinquish the Rock it would become Spanish once again, this is not a valid argument, due in part to the UN's given human right to self-determination, and otherwise due in part to the fact that the MAJORITY of the Spanish population outside of Andalucia, haven't even heard of the place.
Feel free to ask me the question though, I just thought I'd give you a heads up as to what my answer might be. Barring that, AMA!
Inb4, what OS do I use -> Win 7 and Fedora.

Born and raised in Gibraltar, feel and 'am as British as a pork pie.
Key points about the recent issues: β’ Spain abandon the tripartite forum (dialogue forum with Gib, UK and Spain). Duely abandoning the Cordoba agreement β’ Gibraltar government (elected in dec 2011) comit manifesto commitment of banning an illegal agreement by the previous administration that allowed fishing with nets in BGTW (British Gibraltar Territorial Waters). β’ Spain's PP government who took office in dec 2011 also, had in their manifesto a commitment to rekindle the Gibraltar sovereignty issues. β’ Spain impose lengthy queues of 6+ hours to try and make the Gib government to overturn the fishing laws. β’ Gibraltar government commission a full environmental review of our marine environment and install artificial reefs to sustain the marine environment. β’ Spain are hellbent on imposing a toll to either enter or leave Gibraltar. A toll of β¬50 (~Β£45) which they claim is to compensate the fishermans losses.
Points to note. One fishing vessel fished where the artificial reef has been layed. Dozens of artificial reefs have been laid in Andalucia, Spain. A neighbouring mayor and regional PP rep is supposedly renting the boat from the fisherman to create this very conflict.
edit: 0240 here, going to sleep, I'll continue with this tomorrow. Good night fellow brits!
One of my favourite pastimes is researching various different countries and their history, culture and demography and I have been researching Gibraltar recently and reading about their various ethnic origins is very interesting so I was wondering if any Gibraltarians have tested with 23andMe?
