So I’m kind of at my wit’s end here and I just need some positive reassurance or something. Currently 40+3 FTM.
About a week ago I developed a rash on my stomach that seemed to be PUPPPS. It was itchy and miserable, but manageable because it was only on my stomach. I had an OB appointment on Wednesday, and at this point the rash was only spreading mildly to my hips, thighs and hands. She recommended Benadryl if I was losing sleep over it.
The next 2 days the rash explodes to pretty much my entire body below my neck. Huge red and purple welts all over, and it’s spreading FAST. It’s quickly climbing up my back, down my legs, into my armpits. Into my BUTTCRACK?? The rash on my hands, arms and feet has begun BLISTERING and is appearing on my palms and even the bottoms of my feet and between my toes and fingers. I can barely get up and walk around because it’s on the bottoms of my frigging toes. It looks exactly like a poison ivy rash on my hands and feet but everywhere else is just huge red and purple lumps.
It doesn’t seem like just PUPPPS and more of a mix between PUPPPS and Gestational Pemphigoid. It feels absolutely torturous. Constant itching and burning all over my entire body. Benadryl doesn’t help. Ointments don’t help. Ice packs don’t help. Pine tar soap, oatmeal, aloe…nothing helps. I’m seriously miserable.
I went to the ER today and had a whole slew of nurses checked me out and none of them knew what it was. Most of them said they think it’s an allergic reaction to something but they aren’t really sure. They ran a bunch of tests and they all came back normal. Two of them suggested induction if it is in fact PUPPPS/GP. I don’t know anything about induction and now I’m even more terrified. I ended up scheduling an induction for tomorrow night because I just can’t take this anymore.
I’m just so super scared and feeling helpless and alone. I feel selfish for opting for induction instead of just toughing it out a little longer…but I can’t take this rash anymore and it gets worse every single day. None of this was part of my plan, which I know sounds ridiculous because you can’t really expect everything to go perfectly…but I was really looking forward to natural, spontaneous labor. I don’t know what to expect from induction but it sounds so stressful and scary.

This is a super common rash that occurs during pregnancy, here's an extract from an article I found on https://www.aocd.org/page/PUPPP
"The condition typically develops in the 3rd trimester of pregnancy or immediately in the postpartum period. Clinically, it appears as an intensely pruritic (itchy) rash consisting of raised, edematous areas of small papules coalescing into larger plaques. The lesions may be surrounded by a lighter halo in fair-skinned patients and usually begin on the abdomen spreading out to the extremities over the course of a few days. Usually the periumbilical region, palms, soles and face are spared. It has the basic appearance of hives, hence the term urticarial. Sometimes they may appear targetoid or with microvesicles but not overt blisters. If blisters are present, one should have a higher degree of suspicion for a different etiology such as pemphigoid gestationis."
"There is a tendency for the papules and plaques to develop initially within the striae or stretch marks that often occur during pregnancy. This is thought to hint at the possible pathogenesis of the condition, though no specific etiology has been proven. One of the risk factors for the development of PUPPP is rapid, excessive weight gain or multiple gestation pregnancy such as twins. It is thought the rapid stretching of the skin causes an inflammatory reaction due to damaged connective tissue, resulting in the urticarial or hive-like lesions."

I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.

For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.
