A list of puns related to "Gary Oldman filmography"
What's your favorite Gary Oldman performance? We all know that Gary Oldman is an exceptional actor who nails every accent he does. He has had memorable performances. From being a DEA agent in Leon: The Professional, to Winston Churchill in The Darkest Hour. But for me, my favorite Gary Oldman performance is Drexl Spivey in True Romance. Even though, he was only in the movie for a short amount of time, just the way he portrayed a Pimp was hilarious. When, I first saw True Romance, I didn't know that was Gary Oldman. He nailed this part for sure.
To be fair, I haven't watched Bram Stoker's Dracula in about 10 years and forgot whether Dracula turns into a big black dog in the 1993 movie, but he does in the original novel by Bram Stoker. And then of course, we have Oldman's character Sirius Black in the Harry Potter movies who is an animagus that can turn into a big black dog on command. I dunno, I felt like it was a big coincidence. I don't know any other characters that turn into big black dogs, and Gary Oldman has played both of them.
Any other coincidences in cinema you'd like to mention?
gay old man
this killed me
Gary Oldman as the drunk co actor in Joey's movie is just hilarious.
I'm wearing two belts and is that my ass? are delivered perfectly and just make me lol every time
Gary Oldman is a chameleon when it comes to embodying a role. Which Oldman do you prefer
Camp-y Oldman where he gets to have a lot of fun with the role and ham it up. The Professional, Bram Stoker's Dracula, The Fifth Element, Hannibal
Oldman the Villain Some of his best known work is playing the antagonist. Some of these overlap with camp side of things so I tried to pick his more subdued villains. Air Force One, Lawless, Book of Eli, Lost in Space
Oldman the Actor I rarely see him in straight ahead or leading man roles as I suspect he has more fun playing side characters or villains but he of course kills it. Batman Trilogy, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, The Darkest Hour, Immortal Beloved
Are there more sides to Oldman?
This is one of those movies thatβs criminally overlooked, itβs production value isnβt great but the quality of the writing and the story more than make up for it. It was written and directed by Bob Gale(who wrote the Back to The Future series.) And even has Michael J Fox and Christopher Lloyd in it.
Itβs about a young guy(Marsden) who goes on an adventure to discover meaning in his life, heβs given a package to deliver by a wish granting genie(played by Gary Oldman) and has to take the mythical Interstate 60(which doesnβt appear on any map.) to get to his destination. Along the way he runs into some great characters, visits some crazy towns and maybe he finds what he was looking for, or maybe he doesnβt. If youβre into shows like The Twilight Zone, The Outer Limits, Black Mirror etc then I think youβll like this, it doesnβt get quite as serious as those shows, but the stories are equally as interesting.
Also Starring: Kurt Russel, Christopher Lloyd, Michael J Fox, Chris Cooper, Amy Smart.
7.7 on IMDB.
86% on Rotten Tomatoes.
Iβm not into trailers so Iβll just leave one of my favorite spoiler free scenes here: https://youtu.be/YV3q9pIArWk?t=670
Hey all, this Reddit seems pretty quiet but I thought maybe this project of mine would be of interest to you guys. Iβve followed GOβs career for a long time, and awhile ago I decided to watch (and rewatch) Oldmanβs big ole filmography. Iβm writing about each film (not really reviews, just exploring ideas about the movies or Oldmanβs performances in them). Please have a look if that strikes your fancy!
(Note: there are spoilers for many of the movies I write about)
Have any of you attempted to cross off the whole list? He likes working so much that itβs quite a task! Right now Iβm trying to go through his horror (or horror-adjacent) movies.
