A list of puns related to "Garmin Forerunner"
Will be getting here on Wednesday! Super excited !! I want to know your thoughts on this watch if you have one.
Iβm primarily a runner and occasional cycler. I strength train and also occasionally golf. I know the 745 doesnβt have golf features but I have an old vivoactive HR that could serve that purpose for me. I donβt really care about music because I always have my phone. Breadcrumb trail style maps are fine for my use.
I think the Fenix 6 would fit the bill better with more features and itβs cheaper, but the 745 is newer and will be supported longer. Iβm worried with the Fenix 7 about to drop that the 6 will immediately end support, but for the cost right now, it might be worth it. I donβt know which to choose.
Hey guys, any idea how to turn off annoying messenger notifications? I want to leave other notifications such as incoming calls or emails coming in. I only want to turn off messenger. And I am using iPhone. Thanks
Hi, all - I have an old Garmin Forerunner 245 (non-Music) that Iβm interested in selling. However, I noticed that (since being in storage), it has developed a dead pixel spot on it. It doesnβt necessarily inhibit usage, but I would imagine most (myself included) would want a replacement.
According to Garmin themselves (via chat), and their support forums, this problem is both common and fully covered under warranty. Some examples include:
Instead of me going through Garmin Support, having it shipped to my house, and then selling accordingly, Iβm wondering if anyone would be interested in buying the watch as-is, going through the replacement program themselves, and saving us a step on shipping. Would, of course, come at a discount - I was thinking $180, but guaranteed money-back if for whatever reason you canβt get a replacement (again, Garmin told me they could/would for this model - but we can discuss offline).
Price is, obviously, negotiable - happy to hear what works!
Hi friends!
Iβm a triathlete who has completed everything from sprints to full IM distances over the last 6-7 years. I have a big year coming up and need more than the Apple Watch Iβm currently wearing (more for lifestyle than anything else).
I once had the AW 5, then moved to Fenix 6s, and back to AW 6 last year when long distances were not on the calendar thanks to our friend, Covid 19.
Just picked up the Forerunner 745 last night and it is set to arrive tomorrow.
For those who are wearing it - any love/hates you can share with me??
Thank you in advance!!
So what is everyones take on the watch now that its been out over half a year (launched 6/2/2021)
Is this the new 645 or do you guys think it will have a long support life of new features coming to it?
I am wondering because work gives us money each year towards fitness but I looking at moving to another company so I'd want to use the money early in the year. I doubt any new watches will hit. So to me its between the fenix 6 series , 945 lte and maybe a 245 coming off a 235 that is slowly having issues like battery life and heart rate monitor shutting off during runs.
Due to a sudden loss of employment, I am forced to liquidate assets and pass the savings onto YOUUUUUUU!!!!
But seriously, I am selling some Headphones, Computer, and Camera gear to tide over until I find my next gig. Thanks Everyone and Happy Holidays.

I have just purchased a Forerunner 745, it seems great for recording my runs and walks, but I don't need it to record my heart rate and steps etc the rest of the day, just the time and date on the display would be okay.
Would anyone know if I can switch off recording data for everything except my activities that I record on Strava? Thanks
I have been using my Fenix 6 with my new Concept2 rower just fine for a few weeks now. HRM-Pro strap is connected to both my Fenix (for logging) and the PM5 (for visibility, it's not necessary for logging); PM5 is feeding the Fenix via ANT+ FE-C. Whenever I row I'll record an Indoor Rowing activity on my Fenix, it syncs to Garmin Connect/Strava/etc, and most importantly counts towards my overall training status in Connect. I basically don't bother with ERGData at this point.
Now I'm trying to get my wife set up in a similar fashion. She has a Forerunner 245 (non-music), which I believe gained support for FE-C sensors almost a year ago. We have confirmed her FR245 has the latest sensor hub package, the latest ANT/BLE package, and is running software 8.3.
The problem we're running into is that the watch is just not seeing the PM5 show up when we try to add sensors. It looks like we may not be alone, though I would like to think that after 10+ months and 2 major software version updates that any of those sorts of issues would be resolved.
TLDR: Is anyone else here successfully using a Garmin Forerunner 245 + a Concept 2 Rower with a PM5? What did you have to do to get it working?
I can buy it for $150. The watch looks very nice. My concern is how much life the watch has left. I will probably wear it on weekends and whenever I go for rides.
I've recently been using a Wahoo Rival watch for running. It's a nice product - the customisable screens are great and the HR monitor seems to be accurate, however I've been noticing inconsistent split times during runs that feel even-paced.
As a test, I ran with my old Garmin Forerunner 235 watch on the other wrist and did a comparison of the stats and the gpx files.
Wahoo measured an extra 70m in 3 less seconds, but otherwise the stats were consistent.
Comparing the gpx files, Wahoo thought I was running on a river for a good portion of the run...
A single run isn't enough to make a firm judgement about the watch, but I've seen talk of GPS issues in reviews of the Rival, so I'm going to repeat this test with more/longer runs. If it's consistently different I'll likely ditch the Wahoo and go back to the tried and trusted Garmin.

I've been looking for a few days for a watch that meets the triathlon mode, with good battery, metrics and a good price.
I found two candidates for these requirements: Forerunner 935 and Coros Pace 2. I've seen that they're both in the same price range and have about the same features, but I'd like to hear from people like you who have experience with the watches.
( 745 is also a valid option.)
I'm leaving an Apple Watch SE, which is an excellent product with an amazing interface and metrics, but lacks battery life and doesn't have the multi-sport mode.
I was looking at buying a Forerunner 35 as my first gps watch but today I saw this deal so I ended up getting the 45 instead.
Swappa listing. Reddit buyers get $25 off the posted price (PP G&S payment only). Local pickup gets $30 off (PP G&S, Venmo, Zelle, Cash, cash, etc).
Bought this from a fellow Redditor back in October (my second buy from this person). Wore it for a couple months and really liked it, then said Redditor offered me my now-current Fenix 6 Sapphire, which I figured Iβd try out and ended up preferring over the FR945.
Thanks for looking!
I got my first Garmin watch for Christmas and it is a Forerunner 55. Everything works fine, except the heart rate that is displayed on the watch stops working when I run. When I am chilling, the heart rate works perfectly and updates every second with numbers that make sense. However, the heart rate displayed on my watch is wayyy too low when I work out and instead of updating every second, it takes about a minute to update the HR number. I thought it needed to be tighter on my wrist or something but that didnβt fix it. I then realized that my Garmin connect app displayed a number that was a lot higher(185 when going hard) and it was updating every second in the app with numbers that made sense, but my watch face still said my heart rate was 130 when I was pushing myself as hard as I could. When Iβm chilling, the heart rate displayed on my watch and the app line up perfectly, but when I run, the watch displays a completely different number than the Garmin Connect app. The Garmin Connect app is telling me the correct data while my watch is telling me something that it obviously knows isnβt correct if it can send the correct Info to Garmin connect. Does anyone know a solution? Iβd rather not have to hold my phone when I run XD.
I finally decided to get a forerunner watch as I hate taking my phone with me for runs, I got the Garmin forerunner 245 music however I got scammed and the seller shipped me a used watch when I was supposed to get a new one.
Ill be getting a replacement soon but however I was taking a look and I noticed the screen is very dim, I'm not getting this for smartwatch features but It would be nice to be able to tell the time without turning on the backlight, but even in daylight it's pretty hard to see.
Δ°s this a defective unit? If so I'm gonna file for a refund and get a different one, can you recommend a model with better screen visibility?
I don't know how clear it is but here's a photo for reference
Im not sure how clear it is here but here's a photo for reference
Anyone have thoughts on these three? I have the Vivoactive 3 right now and I've been looking for an upgrade that'll carry music directly on board rather than having to take my phone on runs.
Debating if I should use the tempered glass screen protector or not. Suggestions? Thanks.
The watch goes through phases when it will connect and then wonβt connect. Iβve had it for about four years. Time for new watch?
Howdy. Looking to upgrade my bike computer now that I actually intend on training - Iβd like to upgrade to a Garmin unit so that all my training data ends up in the same place. Am I overthinking this? Or should I just track my rides (both outdoor and indoor on a trainer) from my watch?
Iβm somewhat of a data nerd so I wasnβt sure if Iβd be losing a lot of data for my indoor rides using just the watch?
For what itβs worth - Iβd typically bucket myself as a runner, but in the winter I ride more. I guess now I just want to be more intentional with it.
Hey everyone!
I decided this week to switch to the Forerunner 55 from Apple Watch 3, as I am trying to become much more focused on my running and the lack of data available with Apple Watch just wasn't doing it for me.
I'm excited to be a part of this community! Just curious if anyone has any tips or advice for those of us making the switch for the first time?
Thanks in advance!
EDIT: FWIW, I'm training to run my first half marathon in 2022. I run about 12-15 miles per week right now.
Hi everyone, Iβm new to the Garmin world and received my Forerunner 645 Music yesterday, but it wonβt pair with my phone. Iβve done all the official Garmin troubleshooting and still nothing.
Anyone who managed to get it to work?
Anyone successfully managed to connect Garmin Forerunner 55 with a Pixelbook Go? Tried to restart both devices, etc to no avail. Have installed the Garmin Android app on the PB looking to sync between PB and watch directly instead of going through the phone. Many thanks.
