A list of puns related to "GameSpy Arcade"
If you guys are old enough to remember GSA back in the day, you'll understand haha. Has me in tears each encounter lmfao.
The guys behind Penny ArcadeGabe used to do work for a gaming website. I think it was Gamespy, but it might have been something else.
The series dealt with gaming characters/caricatures. The format was a picture of the character, then a story about them told in first person perspective. It was not a three panel comic like Penny Arcade.
I think the most memorable character was the sysadmin, who would always weave complex plots to get what he wanted. I believe that in one memorable series, he orchestrated a plot during his rival's Everquest wedding, or something like that.
Any help? Time frame is late 90s, early 00s.
Edit: Nevermind, solved. Although Gabe was the artist, the writer was David Kozak. It was called the Daily Victim: http://crzysdrs.sytes.net/dv/index.php
Out of pure boredom one day.I designed them all. Please tell me what you think! I used this more as a creative writing assignment for myself so I realize not all of them are perfect

Since I'm not going to be buying anything due to these CRAZY prices, I'm entertaining myself crunching the numbers..
Here's what we have so far through day 2 - after 600 games sold:
Average hammer price per game: $3,999.08
Average price with all fees: $5,084.63 (+18% buyers premium, 7.75% sales tax)
Total hammer price after 600 games: $2,399,450.00
Total buyer's premium after 600 games: $491,901.00
Total sales tax after 600 games: $219,429.70
I assume very few buyers have a tax exempt certificate at the prices they're paying, not much room for resale.
Total paid for first 600 games: $3,050,780.70
This is based on assuming that sales tax would also apply to the buyer's premium.

It occurred to me the other day, Mark and Jeremy are total total shits. I was wondering, if we could tally up all the bad things Mark and Jeremy do during the series (and there is a lot), who would come out as the worst?
So here follows a long list of everything I've noted as being a terrible/mean/shameless thing. I've tried to avoid any bad things they've done accidentally. Mark total: 62. Jeremy total: 67.
Enjoy! Let me know if I've missed anything.

Edit 3: Relevant update from Fidelity: Official statement by Scott Ignall, Head of Retail Brokerage at Fidelity : Superstonk (reddit.com)
Edit 4: Relevant update from MarketWatch quote: βDue to a clerical data entry error, yesterday we provided Fidelity with the incorrect βpotentialΒ securities lending availabilityβ data for Gamestop (GME),β a Vanguard spokesperson wrote in an exclusive statement. βThe error was corrected shortly thereafter and before the markets opened. We regret this error occurred and apologize for any confusion this may have caused.β
Opinion on update: I put this in the "we can't know for sure" category. MM has been less than trustworthy in the past. Whether that's just lazy reporting or they are owned by a special interest, idk. So I would love to see something more concrete regarding identity.
I'm seeing a lot of complaints about the timing of the fix happening "before the markets opened" that are a little short-sighted to me. Yes, Fidelity did report that the fix happened at 12:10. But Fidelity is reporting on the update to their own system. Vantage is reporting on the update to their own data feed. That isn't the same thing. And to me, the timing difference could make sense.
If the Fidelitys Shortable Shot indicator isn't a live feed and only updates before market each day or periodically, then the difference in time between the counterparty fixing their feed and Fidelity manually refreshing their indicator to resolve the incorrect number make sense.

Original Post:
To me, it feels like we are burning a bridge with Fidelity that shouldn't be burned. Before you flame me, hear my case.
First, what happened? Us apes noticed that the shortable shares number jumped an unexplainable amount overnight, to the tune of 11,000,000 shares.
What did we do? We posted and called/told Fidelity that the number doesn't seem right to us and asked if they could explain it.
How did Fidelity respond?
He/He
So, this game has gone through some things before it's even released. Everyone loved the release, gameplay and Portal trailer. Hazard zone was decently received, but wow: the outrage at the beta and the new specialists was almost a 180.
So personally: i'm still pretty hyped. I've played BF4, Hardline, 1 and 5. I'm looking forward to play another modern shooter. Portal is looking like it could bring the arcade feeling of COD to a grand scale. Hazard zone seems like a slower, more tactical gamemode then your typical Battle Royale.
Now the specialists are a big change from the 4 classes, i personally believe that they will change that, but that's not even needed for me. I don't mind playing as a specific character for certain abilities and the abilities look okay. I think it's cool that we now can mix classes. What about a medic/recon role by taking Ji-Soo with med crates? Combining a sniper rifle, Mackay and ammo crates can create a mobile sniper class that can last forever in a hard to reach spot. f.e. I like the freedom it offers. Together with loadout changes, you will become a one man army, but you are still reliant on teammates who have other specialists or equipment.
AND they can be disabled in Portal.
So yeah, i just get bummed out a bit when a look at the newer trailers and see all the comments telling you that they canceled their pre-orders. I haven't pre-ordered, but i might get a cross-gen bundle around my birthday in November.
Anyone feel the same way as me?
Edit 1: I've been reading the comments and i'm not the only one. Everyone has their own reasons and i respect that. I'm cautiously hyped, the launch could be a trainwreck, but i don't see huge warning signs yet. I also hate to say this, because i believe games should be finished when released, but it will definitely get updated and better. DICE has a decent reputation with their updates and longevity of the game. Looking at their blogpost, they are somewhat listening to what we have to say.
Edit 2: this post is getting quite popular, thanks for the silver. No, i'm not a DICE employee, they will monetise this stuff badly. This post is now a mixed bag of very hyped people, cautious people and some have lost their faith even in the game. All of you are free to vent, be hyped or buy the game at any price. I just hope that the huge maps won't be filled with bots because of this.
Does anyone remember a spy store 25 years ago that was downtown? My brother use to take me to a arcade on portage and then to a spy store to look around. I canβt remember either of their names though. Also is there anything like either of those two around anymore (besides movie theatres)
Edit Everything has been given away, I hope the guys who got them have som fun with them
So I bought 5 "premium" surprise keys. Turns out I dont want any of these games.
So if its allowed I just want to give them away to first guy who wants it.
The games are:
Steam games
Well I hope its allowed
Im a casual FH player and i upgrade my cars both realistically and sometimes way too much, for fun. But i have seen alot of people that seem to be seriously FUMING at people putting a V12 and AWD in cars that doesn't originally have those things, calling them "kids" and just seeming genuinely angry at this wich just baffles me. Why on earth would you care about how someone tune their car? Its an open world arcade-esque racer, not an actual sim with pay2win engine installments (where i would understand some anger). Is it just me that has seen this? It seems like some people need to grow up and not take things THIS seriously.
Hi. I've been catching up with a lot of consoles recently and now I'm on to the VITA.I'm from the UK so there are fair number of games I can't get access as they aren't available on the UK/Europeon PSN Store (e.g. Megaman Legends, Cronocross etc.) but I will list any mentioned that aren't available to me anyway.
For myself and others who are looking, could I have some suggestions preferably for VITA only titles? (though feel free to mention if a VITA title has a PSP game chronologically related to it.)

Not because "Hurr hurr, game bad" because our NPC allies are such, absolute buffoons, such dimwits such absolute tools that, even with the Jailer being an insufferable asshat he's still smarter than these morons I'm dealing with.
Now for some context, been gone for a few months, FF14 is great don't care if you don't like it the story telling is Tolkien levels compared to this shit (I'll explain below.).
I'm like "Hey, lets push through some of this new content, see how it's going" Not only do I encounter some of the worst Quality Control. Like the Stonewright having her amulet stolen and both her and the dreadlord that stole it were both wearing out. Or the fact I have Kael'thas following me on the quest while also being still chained up in Vanthir headquaters.
But this quest has us seeking out Nathrazim, Dreadlords that have infiltrated the Vanthir. It has me looking around at NPC's that are disguised... So we can officially call this an incursion. The hook is that the Stonewrights amulet has been stolen and we're chasing the bad guy, simple, easy... The VERY first thing I do when I talk to Renathal is go "Okay, we're dealing with Dreadlords, so we should check the guards, guarding Remornia and Denathrius the guy who created them, right.... Right?
Nope we chase random Dreadlord around the area trying to get the amulet back. WE corner them but they've handed the amulet off to Mal'Ganis... So now we're going to go check the guards at Remornia right? That's obviously what they're here for, to rescue their sire right? It's A DREADLORD INCURSION!
Nope, we corner Mal'ganis and and faceroll him and then the BIG TWIST EVERYONE SAW COMING. "Ha ha, you're so stupid our plan was to get Denathrius!" Cutscene plays and I'm sitting there, staring, jaw dropped... I cannot believe it I can't believe this level of 4head 56D chess the enemy is playing with us. That they were so subtle as to hide the fact they were after their sire from my NPC allies, after the quest starts TALKING WITH RENATHAL IN FRONT OF REMORNIA!
That's it #Teamjailor, there's no way I can hope to win with absolute mongo's like these as our allies, time to cut my losses and join the winning side.
Keep in mind we have the freaking Maldraxxi spy master with us and not one of these NPC's could figure out, the dreadlords were here to pick up their dad from soccer practice.
TL:DR This is the worst writing I've ever seen, no one checks the guards guarding Denathrius DURING A DREADLORD INCURSION

HI, I am here to guide you through how to get the highest AD in TFT (with a couple of rules to make it achievable in an average game). You can look anywhere and find any meta build and play whats considered (βgoodβ), but how about we turn this around.
Firstly we need to lay out a rule set or else we will be relying on hitting galio 3 every game *486AD* (2nd highest is sion with 324β¦ #riotgamedesign). Here is our rules that this series will be going by:
FIRSTLY:
Every unit that costs more than 3 will be considered non-3 stareble. To make it realistic to play in an average game.
SECOUNDLY:
A maximum of 8 items components will be chosen as a part of the build (anything more would make it unrealistic to obtain).
THIRDLY:
The maximized stat will be counted at the beginning of rounds (including activation of items, so zekes, chalice and the like). So no trundle gets to use his ability infinitely to hit a theoretical infinite AD.
4th RULE:
I have never experienced 2 of the exact same augments (so not different tiers of the same one). So no duplicate augments.
LASTLY (and quite frankly not an actual rule)
we will be prioritizing stuff we can force over RNG like augments. (getting an item can be a bit more forced compared to hopping for mortdog to bless us with a specific augment).
With the rules set we now just need to figure out what options we have to increase AD (cause there is a surprising amount of combinations with "28 traits", 45^(3) itemization options and 56 units with a total of 57 UNIQUE abilities... yeah with this amount of stuff there would naturally be a couple of options. I have categorized our options as follows:
Unit stats
Stat affecting abillities
synergies
items
AND BS RNG!, also know as augments (they are as hit or miss as they come).
So now lets go through our options in each of these until we find our most efficient combination. The first step would be to figure out what units have the highest base stats I have taken my self the liberty to make the list of the top 10 highest AD untis + a category I call uniques:
Choβgath 3:324AD Uniques: Tahm Kench
Illaoi 3:277AD Trundel
Samira 3:275AD Jhin
Shaco 3:275AD
Galio 2:270AD
Gangplank 3:243AD
Sion 2:234aD
Vi 3:227AD
Zac 3:227AD
Trundle 3:227AD
Yone 2:144AD
Before we thouch this list we actually have to pay
... keep reading on reddit β‘Him: I'm sad today.
Me: Why?
Him: Because it's sadderday!
Discount.
(My daughter just came up with that and is quite proud).
Hey! All of my prices are OBO, so feel free to make an offer, especially if you're interested in multiple games.
Shipping: Shipping'll depend on the weight of everything you're interested in, but on average it'll be between $3.50 and $7 (Holiday postage increase). Shipping isn't included in the prices below unless explicitly stated as "$price shipped." I'm happy to ship internationally, in which case shipping costs would be determined on a case by case basis. Iβll ship out anything purchased today by no later than tomorrow.
I may have accidentally forgotten to denote some CIB games missing manuals and to denote some red label games as being red label, but if you express interest Iβll check and take pictures and let you know.
