A list of puns related to "Foxconn suicides"
I have looked up the steady wage/purchasing power increase and the private sector not really being private. I also saw that unions have stakes in all major industries.
But how much of the other side of the story of wage slavery and labour exploitation is true. How strong are labor laws compared to say the EU or india or the US.?
Could someone help me out with good resources/academic papers on this.
Thanks สโฟส
the shit that got me back when, when I learned about the recycling cities, and foxconn. learning about how little empathy people had, that workers had to have nets installed to stop committing suicide, and how little empathy some had regarding it, how it was funny, how technically, the suicide rate was lower for the people at foxconn then it was for the general population. so i was like ah shit, shit bad, me choose side. but then, it was determined by [blah] that this was the best way to "value life.
Is this BS propaganda? If so, can you recommend some good reading on this?
Edit:I found this from wikipedia:
> "ABC News[31] and The Economist[32] both have done some simple comparisonโ although the number of workplace suicides at Foxconn is large in absolute terms, the suicide rate is actually lower when compared to the overall suicide rate of China[33] or the United States.[34] According to a 2011 Centre for Disease Control and Prevention report, the country has a high suicide rate with approximately 22.23 deaths per 100,000 persons.[35] In 2010, the worst year for workplace suicides at Foxconn with a total of 14 deaths, its employee count was a reported 930,000 people"
Kind of reminds me of these memes: https://github.com/Jaksuhn/essays/blob/master/In%20North%20Korea.md
My favorite: >โOn My Deathbedโ
>I want to take another look at the ocean, behold the vastness of tears from half a lifetime
>I want to climb another mountain, try to call back the soul that Iโve lost
>I want to touch the sky, feel that blueness so light
>But I canโt do any of this, so Iโm leaving this world
>Everyone whoโs heard of me
>Shouldnโt be surprised at my leaving
>Even less should you sigh or grieve
>I was fine when I came, and fine when I left.
