For reference, I am a 5’3 woman who’s relatively small.

The state offered me a job and the program where you go through the training to get certification. I would be working at a mens prison.

I wasn’t nervous at all throughout the application process but a friend told me that I should be terrified, so now I’m having second doubts.

Can this job be the right job for a smaller woman? I was basically told that only men should work these positions. Basic sexism aside, is there some truth to this knowing this is an all mens prison?

I have always wanted to work within the CJ system. Any advice, tips or thoughts on this I’d appreciate. What should I expect for the training program?
