A list of puns related to "Final Approach (visual novel)"
EDIT 10/12/21: wow! Thank you to whoever gave me the silver. I'm glad this post has had such good feedback. I'm planning a couple more lists in this overall topic of Role-Reversal in games, but if this post is too daunting for a lot of you, let me know and I'll come up with an abridged version. Also, I forgot one key romance to put in this post so I'm taking advantage of this edit to put it in there. It'll be under the "Choices: Stories You Play" section, above the final entry in that section
Hi everyone!
So a while back, like a few months back, I responded to a post asking about what other kinds of content should be on the sub. My response was that I was planning a mega-list of all female love interests with at least a mild amount of Role-Reversal dynamics in all the mobile and videogames I've played for anyone who wanted a good guide for living those out in that type of fiction medium. The comment got some upvotes and some positive feedback, so I went to work trying to finish up some stories on one of the apps so I could get started.
It took way too long, and I apologize deeply for that, but I finally have finished my last run of female LI story-app games for the time being so I'm ready to make the post. Diverting from my original plan, I realized trying to dig up and remember from all the videogames I played would make this post way too daunting. So I opted instead to divide up posts and focus this one entirely on the genre of Interactive Story apps, aka Visual Novels. These apps function like a icon/prompt comic book with speech bubbles at the bottom where you can make choices not just on story-related choices but also who you romance. The only major drawback people can agree on is cost of diamonds for key choices. Fortunately you can experiment with other unrelated stories on each app to diamond-mine/diamond-farm in prep for the stories you really wanna spend on if you don't want to make the Google Play/App Store purchases for more diamonds. Most of the stories I listed I feel are very good and are enhanced by the Role-Reversal female LIs that I highlight, while the rest of the stories are at least decent in quality with some grammar flaws and literary issues.
I will be grouping each bracket by app and by each LI I'll say which story they're from in parentheses and I'll grade their Role-Reversal dynamics from mild to medium to Heavy, which, while the grades themselves should be self-explanatory, I'll explain my justification (also in parentheses)

Well, today I wanted to write something related to one of the fields of study that I am most passionate about: Psychology.
Psychology as a concept refers to the "science that studies the mental processes, sensations, perceptions and behavior of human beings in relation to the physical and social environment that surrounds them".
In this sense, we can understand that when we refer to something as a psychological work, what we mean is that it makes a huge emphasis on the psychology of the characters to develop a story.
To give an example, depression has been highly utilized in this medium. The most common would be as the result or consequence of a traumatic event in the past, but there are other occasions in which such depression may simply be the result of exposure to certain situations that can generate enormous pressure on the character. Depression from a psychological approach, refers to a "mental illness or disorder characterized by profound sadness, mood decline, low self-esteem, loss of interest in everything and decreased psychic functions".
One of the most famous and recognized cases about depression might be as seen in Subahibi. The scenario itself places a huge emphasis on "living happily," and that is because much of the structure of the story is based on the idea of psychology and the huge impact that the environment in which we interact can have on an individual's mental health.
Bullying becomes one of the triggers that will give rise to much of the plot at first, and is that a particular character is so cornered by her classmates, she ends up reaching her limit and developing a a mental disorder (>!Psychosis!<).
You don't have to do much to take away a person's smile
There are many other similar cases in Subahibi, but my intention with this post is to avoid spoilers.
In both Subahibi and Tsui no Sora (Another SCA-Di work), the power relationships that can develop in certain groups are a major conditioning factor in the ro

It doesn't have an overarching action plot like in the PC version, instead delving deeper into the characters themselves, with Rookie helping them resolve their personal inner conflicts.
This format is much more similar to the Spirit Blossom novel we got last year, and the tone/character writing overall is infinitely better than the PC version. It almost seems as if WR being a smaller game forced Riot to approach the visual novel with much more care, focusing on quality over quantity. Some might say that this smaller-scale format wouldn't have worked with the League version of the story, and this is not necessarily untrue, but I don't see how simply making characters better written and multi-dimensional is something only WR could have possibly pulled off. Like I said, it's about quality, not quantity.
So in WR, the characters have following arcs:
Lucian is unsure of Rookie's capabilities at first, but gradually warms up to them. He elaborates on his background as an "unconventional" Sentinel, and seems genuinely excited to finally see their culture with his own eyes. Of course, the source of his inner conflict is still Senna and his desire to protect her, but instead of lashing out on Rookie for no reason, Lucian simply hides his feelings and pretends that everything is fine, trying to be a "tough guy" and a role model of sorts for Rookie. By the end of his story, he decides to trust Rookie and opens up a little about his fears. Lucian gets comforted by Rookie and while his fears don't go away, he does feel a little better.
Senna's blunt and a little cold towards Rookie initially, but never outright hostile. Her source of inner conflict has to do with a fascinating piece of worldbuilding, an ancient archive of magic tapestries that depict fallen Sentinels. With the help of Rooke she finds her own tapestry, confirming she actually died at one point, but it's different from all the others (because it glows in a spooky way I guess), and Senna fears that she might eventually lose her humanity. She asks Rookie to hide the tapestry and never tell Lucian, Vayne or anyone else about this. By the end she also warms up to the player a bit, thanking them and noticing how good it feels to have a neutral party to talk to.
Riven is portrayed as a serious, noble warrior haunted by he
I only discovered it in October of 2020, but I quickly fell in love with the premise and the characters. I admittedly only went through the Hanako route, but I didn't feel the need to see through the other routes because I was satisfied with my time.
Although I understand the title can sound a bit misleading (Or clickbait-ish if people assume I just didn't know that the series was classified as a VN even from way back) but hear me out.
The Ace Attorney series has always been regarded as a visual novel by classification, but as per what I've personally experienced across the last 8 entries (Including the two Investigation titles) before TGAA, the series has always felt more like a puzzle game rather than a visual novel to me. It was only some time from the Investigations era onwards where the games really started to have a more prominent overriding story arc for each game as a whole but even then, I wouldn't have really classified them as visual novels. This is largely because each case still felt pretty split from one another, though the future formula of having cases being to build upon one another was starting to take hold which was very different from its predecessors. (To clarify, I know in AA1, AA3 and AJ, there is something of an overall narrative, but truth to be told, they're more of a flavor/spice sprinkled throughout the games until you reach the very final case. They are not that prominent that they actually drive the underlying narrative of each and every case.)
Then you have TGAA, which for me has transcended from the realm of video games to visual novels. Being somebody who has played quite a number of mystery Japanese visual novels myself, I get the same feeling playing TGAA as I do to many J-VNs. There is just so much more fleshed out as an overall story across all cases spanning two seperate games. There is much more world building cleverly incorporated both through the investigation sections and trial sections that alot of it remains relevant throughout both games. A lot of the dialogue options/discussions don't necessarily involve the immediate problem/case at hand but instead expands upon the characters and world as a whole. In fact in Chronicles, the game actually gives you the option to just skip all gameplay and to experience the game in full story mode which means that you can actually read it as a kinetic novel all by itself if you so choose to. Overall, TGAA's story feels way more complete but also as a downside, requires a lot more investment from the player compared to its predecessors, a very similar feature to 30+ hour long visual novels.
My personal opinion is that I really like where Shu Takumi has gone with TGAA and I'm hoping he'll be taking the series in this more

This is not meant to be a thread where I complain about my life: I'm just curious to know how many play VNs for the reason written in the title.
I have been immersed in this genre of videogames for 1 year and, if at first I convinced myself that I was playing VNs only for the beautiful plots, in a second moment I realized I was playing VNs because I have been alone like a dog for a long time.
The possibility of escaping and imagining things that do not happen in my life manages to cheer up a little, even if it is a bitter happiness.
Attention, I am perfectly aware of the fact that all this is virtual and I commit myself in reality so that the situation can improve; however whatever the circumstances, the reason why I play VNs is that I do not have an active social life.
What do the people of r/visualnovels say?
We have bunch of MTL website for Light novel & Web novel
Why we don't have one for Visual Novel?.. So.. I made one.. :D

VNMTL is for people who's fine with reading unedited MTL. If you guys ever read LN & WN from a site like LNMTL, you'll understand what kind of headache you'll find when reading them. Reading 30 hours of MTL might hurt your head a bit, but you'll get used to it.. umm maybe..
I used to use tools like Textractor, Translator aggregator, & chiitrans or Sugoi to play Japanese VN. While it's useful, I don't like the experience of having to keep opening these tools before playing my JP VN. I also love playing my VN in my mobile using exagear & kirikoid2, but I obviously can't open these tools inside android.
So I decided to MTL everything and patch the game myself and I love it so far.
After playing bunch of game I personally MTLed, it's gonna be a waste to delete it, so I think sharing it to everyone will be nice.
After we have DeepL & Sugoi Translator Offline, Machine Translation is not as horrible as back then. I mainly use Sugoi and I personally think Sugoi Translator is better than DeepL for Eroge VN right now, altho sugoi burns my laptop hot >_>.
Overall, the translation inside the site will be anything but good translation, you'll find some bug in some VN and if you hate unedited MTL, then just don't download the patch and you can wait for better fan translation or official translation. (If it will ever exist)
I'll update the site for atleast one VN/week, I might give some list VN that I can MTL and have poll each week to see what people want to MTL. Yes, for free..
Edit : After consulting to bunch of people and see community feedback, I decided to remove request option completely. I'll try to create poll system which people can vote which VN they want to MTL at that week, I will also create post on how to extract script, translate, and patch the game on your own just to piss off elitist, so you can expect bunch of tutorial in the future!
MTL is the future solution of language barrier~
VNMTL will only provide patch only and you need to buy the game on your own.
Happy new year! Happy playing!
Update1: VNMTL first VN Poll is here ๐ท , You need to be registered to the site if you want to vote. You can @ in discord i

I have two:
First, the scene in White Album 2: Introductory Chapter where >!Haruki finally gives in to his feelings toward Kazusa, and they consummate their relationship on the same night. No other VN scene approaches this oneโs intensity and perfect evocation of tragic, star-crossed lust.!<
The second is actually from Hakuchuumu no Aojashin Case 1, when >!Rin and Arishima visit the Landmark Tower observation deck together and remark on how they feel looking at the expanse of houses. Their mutual recognition that while some might see that expanse and marvel at humanityโs richness, they both look and feel nothing but alienation is to me the moment that their relationship passes the point of no return. In a world that has wholly rejected them both, they have only each other.!<
What are your own unforgettable VN scenes?
Edit:
I have to add Hakuchuumu no Aojashin Case 0, >!specifically the scene where Kaito learns that the love of his life, Yonagi, will eventually succumb to early-onset dementia. Her pointing out to him that she will never be able to give him children, and him embracing her nonetheless, is one of the most heartbreaking scenes in fiction, let alone visual novels. The piano track of โInto Greyโ here absolutely kills.!<
This was a comment I made for a post more than a week ago asking about the history of fvns and I spent an hour making it, so might as well make a fun little post out of it with some edits and tweaks. So uh read it if you're interested, and note that English is my second language,
Morenatsu started development in 2003, due to multiple issues they canceled development in mid-2015 leaving 3 routes unfinished.
Lagoon Lounge was the second oldest fvn I'm aware of, released on June 21, 2012, it had 2 sequels and was remade for steam in 2018, not much to say about the game besides its questionable (and probably illegal) sexual content (but Morenatsu also had some very contentious stuff in it so I guess times were different). The creator later went on to make Knight College.
Blackgate's first demo was released in August of 2014 by Bane and grew to be one of the most successful furry vns at the time until the creator got greedy, charging double on their Patreon for less content each month until people stop supporting it. The game right now is still getting updates with a fraction of the Patreon it used to have.
Echo released its first demo in August of 2015, it was a psychological horror visual novel and grew to be very successful even to this day with its final update in April of this year, during the early days of the game the Echo team was even planning a small cameo/collab with Bane the creator of Blackgate because of the similarities of their game but due to Blackgate turning out the way that it did, the collab never happened. The Echo Project later down the line made Adastra (becoming very popular in the furry community because hot buff wolf bf), The Smoke Room, and various games in the Echo universe.
Repeat initial release was in early to mid-2015, shirokoi is currently taking a hiatus from the game and is developing Temptation Ballad. Repeat is probably gonna get some art overhaul after its hiatus.
Extracurricular activities was created in March of 2015 with its first demo released in September of the same year, written by DyneWolf and art by CursedMarket, the artist was later changed to CaptainGerBear. There are currently 3 route that are finished (I think Idk where to check) with 2 remaining and another route for a character is being added due to popular demands.
With the success of these games, a lot of people were inspired to make their own furry visual novel like Tennis Ace (in 2017? Fun fact: Basket ,the creator of Tennis Ace, made a comment in

I'm still blown away that we have a trailer, let alone a game to download. Iโm incredibly grateful and thankful to the talented people who made production of this game possible. And to you, to this community, to whoever is reading this.
This community connected me to the people that made this possible, and I'm grateful. That's the primary emotion right now, you know? Calm and hopeful Gratefulness. All of the other emotions leading up to release are still in my mind; the stress of working on it, meeting deadlines, nights editing, endless reviewing, it was a lot. A lot of work.
But regardless of all of that...today I can be proud! This is actually happening! :D YAY!
Thanks for everything guys! From my the bottom of my heart, thank you.
The project is a visual novel posted in chunks and uploaded online (sounds odd but I really think this may become a viable market) with a continuous plot and developing cast. This means that as time progresses the cast can be updated with new sprites and new characters can be added.
So an artist who's willing to work on the same thing for a while would be best. I intend to pay per sprite and CG so this would continue to pay for a while as the story went on. So someone with a free schedule would be great.
It's also worth mentioning that I want to show some violence in this, there won't be much but the more okay with it you are the better. Things like characters having bruises or bloodied noses and the like.
Also since this will be posted online this will be recieving ad revenue and such and I wouldn't mind working out a deal to give a percentage of the revenue. Of course I'm not planning on a ton of popularity or even any popularity (especially starting out) but just in case I'd be happy to give a good portion of the earnings to the artist as well as the payments per sprite.
As for the actual payment per sprite, I understand that about 50$ USD per sprite is about the going rate and I'd be happy to pay that amount but I'm open to negotiation.

Visual novels have always been hit or miss for me. While I do believe video games are the best medium for story telling. A good story doesnโt mean much if Iโm not having fun. However when it comes to visual novels there isnโt a lot of gameplay so its up to the writing, the characters, and the art to keep me engage. So itโs relieving that Va-11 Hall-A crafts a unique world with some eccentric, but memorable characters. The year is 207X (yeah thatโs how itโs written). The future is a bleak dystopia where the rich, corrupt, and criminal organizations reign supreme. The White Knights enforce the rules from the regime and very few people dare to revolt. This would normally be the part where I explain how the main character rises up and turn the status quo up on its headโฆ but this is not one of those stories. No folks, in this cyberpunk tale we strap on the bartender uniform of Jill Stingray. A twenty seven year old just trying to get by in life and pay her $10,000 rent by the end of the month. With her boss Dana and co-worker Gillian, theyโll mix drinks and change lives. There isnโt one big story revolving around Va11halla (what Iโll be referring it to.) instead itโs about the people who stumble their way into the bar. Youโll meet someโฆ interesting characters like Mr. Donovan, an asshole editor, but makes up for his crude personality with his sense of humor. Taylor, a living brain in a jar. Streaming-Chan, a young woman who streams her life 24/7 who is ungodly irritating.
Not everyone is a weirdo though. You still have your friends that drop in from time to time, like the android sex worker Dorothy (who looks like sheโs 13 and yes it is uncomfortable when sheโs sharing her sex stories) and Alma the hacker, your current best friend with a lackadaisical attitude, but has serious family issues brewing up. Youโll even make new friends like the naive, but earnest White Knight named Sei and her co-worker/best friend Stella. If you serve customers a secret drink on specific days you might see a couple of cameos from another cyberpunk indie game.
Like any good bartender youโll listen to their problems and offers advice (even if half of the time its all for naught). Sometimes, just sometimes, theyโll take it to heart and they do attempt to make some changes in their lives. Other than theirโฆ eccentric personalities, itโs their designs that standout. Maybe itโs just compliments from the overall pixelated 2D art style. Considering that this is a visual novel, it dam

We have an idea for a visual novel. But we couldn't decide which tool/engine to use. We know C# language (for Unity) and we used to Electron for another projects. We didn't use RenPy.

Hello, how do I fix the glitching of the sides in the visual novel when the camera shakes? This only happens in fullscreen mode, I'm on a 1050ti. Screenshot: https://i.imgur.com/d81dXhp.png
Thanks.
I can only get myself to read a VN for 10 minutes, maybe 30 at max of a visual novel in a day (though visual novels with gameplay elements are sometimes an exception). This is really bad when you consider the length of the classics. It can take a really long time for me to finish a visual novel after purchasing it. I'm still on the fucking Ciel route of Tsukihime for fucks sake and it's been months since I started it. And yes, I fast forwarded the shared scenes from Arc's route. Barely helped at all.
How can I spend more time on visual novels at once so I can finish them faster? How do you guys do it?
I read Novels often so reading is not an issue, but i want to experience something that makes the best use of the 'Visual' aspect as well.
Hey Guys!
I have made a few posts on this subreddit before, but today I just wanted to share something that I have been spending the past couple of months on, and need to know if it's something that I should continue making and developing.
I have been making this game called Aki High, where this boy moves to Tokyo and goes to a High School where he meets girls, it's a very typical visual novel trope that I have always found interesting, and now that I know a lot about python I have finally been able to start making my own.
I wish to publish this game one day, however, I wanted to know if that's something that people would still today find interesting. Due to the fact that it's been done a thousand times.
Thanks for reading!
Basically I am reading 2 visual novels right now. But I have been really addicted to visual novels these past few weeks since I got into them and found so many ones I also want to play. Issue is, it takes so long to get to the next one in your list to play.
How do you deal with this ? Do you play 4 or more at the same time?
