-20' - this will be a very hard match: Barça have a different approach to their B team and reinforce their squad with signings every season unlike our team which is basically only youth players + very few free singings, so they have the stronger and older team. But we are still unbeaten at home (2 wins, 1 draw), and a (sort of) Clásico hopefully will inspire peak Madridismo in all our players.
Today Jaume Jardí might play against the club he arrived from this summer, he starts from the bench though. Also, the brothers Óscar (Madrid, *2002) and Antonio Aranda (Barça, *2000) will face each other, both are in the starting XI.
Gila is back from injury, although with Ramón, Morante, Latasa, Park and Santos, 5 potential starters are still missing/just coming back from injury. Having Miguel and Blanco available is really good and will give us an important boost though.
1' - Kickoff, HALA MADRID
6' - first shooting opportunity for Barça B on the edge of the area but it goes wide
9' - first good chance for Castilla, Aranda cuts inside after a great dribbling, his shot is saved for a corner by Iñaki Peña
11' - Cross by Arribas, it just goes past both Andri and Dotor. Good minutes now
15' - ARANDA again... That could've been the goal, Arribas picks up a long ball on the counter, plays it to Dotor who passes it to Aranda. He once again dribbles nicely into the area, but only hits the side netting with his left foot
21' - Barça B passing the ball between their CBs could put you right to sleep if it wasn't a "Clásico"
22' - clear penalty after a Barça player blocks a cross with his arm far outstretched. Obviously the ref doesn't give it, same procedure as every week. A few seconds later, Arribas gets the ball by Peter and launches it way over the goal. Castilla the much more dangerous team so far
25' - chance for Barça B, Jutglà puts it wide from a bad angle though
30' - Peter is causing Barça defenders lots of problems, great game by him so far
38' - and another great chance, great interplay between Blanco, Peter and Arribas. Arribas gets the ball in the box, turns and shoots, but can't get his head down and the shot goes over the bar again
40' - madre mía Peter... Dribbles past his opponent into the box, tries to curl it into the top corner like Vini did against Levante, but the shot just misses. We'd really deserve the lead by now, not even taking the

Hey everyone! It’s about that time of year that people start looking to our B team to see what they are up to and if they can secure promotion. Things are particularly interesting in the third tier of Spanish football this year (Segunda B) because RFEF is restructuring the Spanish league system. In this post we’ll look at:
- The current format of the pyramid
- The new format to take over
- The format of the league this year
- What is all means for Barca B
I've included information that some of you will already know, but I think there's something new in this post for just about everyone. I very much enjoy studying stuff like this just to know the league structure, and it is often relevant for discussion of our B team. This post is fairly long, I'll put small tl;dr's after each section.
The Spanish Pyramid
La Liga
To start off, we'll be discussing the structure of the leagues in Spain. The current system sees La Liga on top with 20 clubs. This is where FC Barcelona plays. We are one of three clubs (the others being Athletic Bilbao and Real Madrid) to never be relegated from La Liga. All teams in the top flight qualify for the Copa del Rey. From La Liga, three teams are relegated to the Segunda División.
The Segunda División
The Segunda División is a 22 team league. This league has several teams we have seen in and out of La Liga over the past few years, and is generally viewed as a good step up in quality from the third division. Familiar teams include Mallorca, Leganés, Rayo Vallecano, Sporting Gijón, Girona, Málaga, Las Palmas and Espanyol (lol). The teams that finish first and second every year get guaranteed promotion to La Liga. The teams finishing from 3rd to 6th enter a tournament for the final promotion spot. Both the semifinals and the final of this small tournament are two-legged ties. The last 4 spots in the league relegate to the Segunda División B.
The Segunda División B
The Segunda División B is where Barca B currently reside in the pyramid. It is comprised of 4 groups, each of 20 teams for a total of 80 teams. This league is only semi-professional - not all players are required to have professional contracts.
4 teams receive promotion from this league. These teams are decided by a fairly complicated playoff of two-legged ties. The teams winning their groups enter a knockout bracket of 4, with the finalists sec

Hey Guys! Might be out of context, but I do not know where else I could ask this thing. I'm a huge basketball fan and I just wanted to see some FC Barcelona Bàsquet B games to scout the young prospects but I cannot find where to watch them. I'm from Europe but I do not live in Spain. 2' - GOAL! MUNIAIN! Nico Williams with a great run down the right side, into the area and find Munianin completely free to score a beautiful early goal.
6' - Athletic pressing hard and Barca are lucky that Nico Williams fails to hit the ball properly.
17' - Nico Williams through on the right again, sends the ball to Vesga who sends it straight on to Muniain who sends the ball way high from distance.
20' - GOLAZO!!! FERRAN!!! beautiful combination on the left side before Busquets finds Ferran who takes one step and sends the ball perfectly into the top corner!
32' - Ter Stegen keeping his cool against Nico Williams and gets his hand on the shot to block it.
41' - Several people go down during a corner from Athletic, Pique stays down after being kicked in the face and another player jumped into him hard.
44' - Pique back on after getting checked.
45' - Ter Stegen with a tremendous save off the line after a corner.
47' - Sancet goes down in the area and stays down. Looks like he hurt his knee.
52' - Iñaki Williams on for Sancet (1/5).
55' - Nice counter through Pedri, tries to send Ferran, but an Athletic defender gets his foot in. Was offside too.
61' - Frenkie on for Gavi (2/5).
61' - Fati on for Jutgla (3/5).
72' - Counter from Barca ends at Nico who knows he won't get away from his defenders and smartly draws a foul.
73' - Alves takes the free-kick, straight into the wall.

41' - GOOOOOOL!!! LUUK!!! Dembele sends a low ball into the centre, Courtois tries to clear it, but hits Luuk with the ball from who it bounces against the post and into the net.

54' - Dembele with a lot of chances already in the secondhalf, but can't get any shot on target.
68' - Rodrygo on for Asensio (1/5).
69' - Benzema off the post, lucky for Barca.
72' - GOAL! BENZEMA! Ter Stegen with amazing saves denying Benzema and a cross in, but Barca's defence does nothing to help out and Benzema can score.

83' - GOOOOOL!!! FATI!!!! Alba with a fantastic cross in and Fati had just enough space to win the header!
