Hey everyone. This post includes spoilers for the EOTE starter kit story and Long Arm of the Hutt.
I've started GMing the Edge of the Empire starter as my first ever serious try at GMimg a game system and I and my friends have been having a blast.
We have currently finished act 2 of Long Arm of The Hutt and will be heading into act 3 soon. The players are using the pre-gen characters and im already thinking about what's next for them after this module.
I would like to run a shorter campaign after this before we get into another full module. Since the players are currently running a stolen shop - the Kraft Fang - and have run afoul of the empire on their way out of Mos Shuuta, I'm thinking of a plot hook that has them trying to find a slicer who has the connections to help them change the transponder of their ship, this would also help to give them a sense of ownership over it.
To that end, I'm thinking of them running into an imperial patrol or maybe even bounty hunter colleagues of Trex on their way out of Ryloth. Perhaps the spaceport tipped each faction off.
If the Empire, the players are attacked by a smaller patrol ship sent out to investigate. If they lose the fight or don't get away they may be boarded and arrested and may have to escape! Perhaps the vessel continues its patrol past geonosis and gets into a skirmish with rebels sent to pick up Mu Nanb the rebel sullistatio from LAoTH which provides interference for an escape.
Anyway enough brain storming. My questions are: What ship would be an appropriate outer rim patrol ship that would give the players a run for their money, unlikely to be defeated one on one, and if captured, its feasible for them to mount an escape from. Perhaps half the crew hide in a smuggler compartment and bust them out etc and the ship is poorly crewed due to being so far out in the rim.
Im thinking either a Gozanti or a Raider covette. The Corvette only has 2 fighters so won't completely overwhelm the players but I'm unsure if they could escape of captured and might rely on some outside interference. A gozanti might be small enough to escape from but im unsure how it would capture the players ship.

This is more niche drama but if you guys ever want to read consistently funny comments, just go to YouTube and type in "Corvette vs" with the European car of your choice and the results are always amusing. The Chevy Corvette, an American vehicle, is able to smoke European cars in drag races while costing literally half as much. The new 2021 Corvette costs less than $60k for the base model and is able to beat cars that start at well over $100k.

The Corvette is a fucking beast, tbh. It's always been my favorite car and the value is insane. It really looks and feels like a $150k-$200k car for a fraction of the price. I plan to get one one day because I feel like the cost isn't that bad considering you're getting something so ludicrously cool.
