A list of puns related to "European Hygienic Engineering and Design Group"
Hello!. To reiterate, we are a group of Engineering student at Rolla Technical Institute doing a design project to mitigate the risk of trailer sway and jackknifing. We are currently collecting data as preparation for the design portion of the project.
I know this sounds douchey, and that's the problem. I don't want to be "that guy" in our group. I've had a ton of project and design experience outside of class and none of the others have had much if any. Yesterday we had a meeting where we shared each of our individual design tasks for the week and they were all done poorly. The quality of work was what you'd expect from a freshman. Like, making a cylinder in SolidWorks does not count as shaft design. I could give more examples but that's not the point.
How do I navigate this situation? I wouldn't mind teaching them a thing or too, but I'm considerably younger than everyone else on the team and I'm not sure anyone would be receptive to learning from a baby face know-it-all like me. I want the end product to be something I'm proud of, and I also want the group to work in harmony. How do I approach this situation and what actions do I take to make the best of this?
TL;DR: Last week was British Science Week! We are here to answer any questions any of you have to do with science or technology and how they affect your life. There are no silly questions - ask us anything and we will try to give an easy-to-understand answer and, wherever possible, provide some further sources to enable you to do your own research/reading.
Our goal is simply to advance everyone's understanding of science, engineering and technology and to help people be better informed about the issues likely to affect them and their families.
More info / Longer read: CSES is a registered charity in the UK, founded in 1920. We're a volunteer group of over 250 members and our key strength is our diversity and interdisciplinary expertise. Our members come from a variety of educational, social and economic backgrounds, from industry and academia and a multitude of age groups, representing groups from the millennials all the way to the Silent Generation (our oldest member being 97)!
There has been growing dis-information globally in the last 20 years. Today's global interconnectedness, while being hugely beneficial for making information easily accessible to everyone, has made it ever more difficult to determine 'truth' and who to trust. As an independent charity, not affiliated or biased to any particular group, but with broad knowledge we are here to answer any questions you may have and to hopefully point you to further reading!
Our goal is simply to answer as many of your questions as we can - but we aren't able to give advice on things - sorry! We will also be clear where what we are saying is the experience-based opinion of someone in our team.
CSES will draw from its large pool of volunteers to answer your questions, however the people standing by to answer comments are:
I just got my bs in mech engineering from uni in florida. I also got an hvac internship there. I moved back to california which is my home state. I'm in search for an engineering role in solar but I'm beginning to wonder if I have to be willing to move to another state where the opportunities are more prevalent? Any input on this matter would be greatly appreciated.
Hello! We are engineering students at Rolla Technical Institute doing a project on trailer sway and jackknifing. We know that farmers usually have to pull trailers, so as part of the data collection preparations, we decided to post our survey here. If you have to pull a trailer regularly, we'd be happy to hear from you!
