A list of puns related to "Eon Products"
Hi, I am currently planning to lean on Technical Dive and also my old Vyper is half broken. (Took water will try to get it repaired) I think this will be a good time to invest in a new computer with a big screen. My initial searched resulted in Eon Core (600β¬) but lots of people on Reddit and on forums suggested the Shearwater Perdix(845β¬, AI 945β¬). The difference is much bigger in the EU than in the USA. Also, the screen and display look much better then Shearwater. I am not planning to dive deeper than 80 meters also not sure if I am going to push in more hard-core tec dives.
PS. If there are also other product please recommend. A wireless pressure gauge is an interesting option but cost around 200β¬. Maybe also some thought about that as well.
Edit: I will evaluate my decision to go tec dive. Thanks again for all the help!
These days we all expect Bond actors to change every decade or so, and there's often speculation over who'll take up the role next. This also happens with Batman, Joker, Spiderman, and other recurring roles. But at the time it must have been a shock to the system when Connery stepped down and, instead of ending the series, Eon replaced him with another actor. I'm just wondering how this was received at the time.
Any of the classic 60s or 70s James Bond movies
In my opinion it is definitely Moonraker but maybe because the special effects havenβt aged that well but it leaned a little too heavily on special effects
Since I finished the entire Highlander movie series earlier this Jan, naturally reading up on Connor's actor.
When Roger Moore left his reign as 007, Pierce Brosnan was the immediate choice as replacement as James Bondfollowed undoubtedly by Timothy Dalton as the sure runner-up. However both actors were tied up in other projects and so a 2 years went by without a new Bond movie to follow up. During that period, multiple actors were considered to take up the role including Mel Gibson, Neil Dickson and more.
Among the candidates was Christopher Lambert. However he was disqualified because of his sorta pan-European non-English accent and he could not imitate a convincing British accent.
Assuming he was able to learn to pull a genuine British accent off during filming, how do you think Lambert would have done as 007? I know another big issue is that Lambert was blind and in fact he pulled of plenty of his stunts and fight scenes without any glasses or contact lenses but a lot of care was and rehearsal was taken. They had to craft scenes to avoid normal parkour or even militaryeqsque movements and its obvious in the Highlander movies how much camera footage was cut and edited around to accomodate Lambert's eye handicaps.
I think this would have resulted in Timothy Dalton's movies esp The Living Daylights into a very different breed. I don't even think License To Kill would have been made but a totally different sequel since so much of that movie revolved around Timothy Dalton doing very dangerous stuff including actually running away from a real gas think that exploded (yes the scene in the movie was a real explosion and real equipment being used-Dalton was legitimately running for the hell out of life completely terrified).
So I'm very quite curious how a Lambert take on Bond would have been. Lambert has very tough hills to reach because Dalton is such a fan favorite among the hardcore Bond community (even beating Craig in the eyes of the most diehards). But it be cool to see what Eon Productions would have done to accommodate a blind man in the role of James Bond!
I will add if he can get rid of the vague French-Swiss mixed in with other non-English accent out, the guy can easily do the non-action scenes. Afterall he won a Cesar, France's own Academy Awards, during his run of French films for his role in Subway.
The James Bond property is public domain in most parts of the world so I was wondering if they had permission for this game or not
If so what did you think? Should I give it a watch? The reception to it seems to be pretty negative.
This is not based on any hear-say; it is purely wishful thinking and finger crossing on my end.
The time between Spectre and Craig's announcement that he was returning for one more Bond, NTTD, was unbearable at times. The speculation and junk posts made it difficult to find quality Bond posts and civil discussions. You have to think at some point some of that reached Barbara and Michael G. Wilson. If NTTD is released in November, I think EON lets the film run its course and once it is out of theaters I think they quickly announce Craig's successor.
Just for kicks and giggles, I will also add that I hope it is either Tom Hardy or Dan Stevens, and that Christopher Nolan directs one of them in their first Bond film. But that is just me.
I also hope that we only see a two year gap between Bond films.
Boy I hope I am right! Cheers!
Hi everyone. I was the guy that deduced and popularized what has recently become known as the βRoman master plan theoryβ on this subreddit, a theory that Ty and Daniel recently confirmed is correct. In the Alt-Shift X podcast where they confirmed it, they said that they felt they werenβt being subtle, and yet a ton of people seem to have completely missed this central part of the plot of Leviathan Falls. I think a major part of why I understood what the authors were going for is because I understood The Dreamer chapters in the book, and therefore understood the alien biology that they were trying to explain. A biology that is so alien that I think it actually challenges a lot of what we consider as βlifeβ in the first place.
So, I thought that I would make a thorough post on the evolution and history of the Gatebuilders, so that other fans can understand their nature and the overall alien plot line of the Expanse. My background is in biology and neurology, so I think I might be decently suited to make a post like this. I wonβt go into detail about their βmaster planβ - there are multiple recent threads on that. Instead, this will delve into their biology and evolutionary history. I will refer to them as the Gatebuilders throughout this post because that is the name we seem to have collectively decided on as a fan base, but by the end of this post, youβll see why I think that instead of calling them βGatebuildersβ, we should instead call their species βLeviathansβ - a name that I think suits them far better, both based on their origin and because they did far more than just build the gates, which probably wasn't even initially deliberate in the first place.
This will be long. VERY long. I apologize for the length, but there was a lot to discuss here. Thereβs a tl,dr below.
I will also say, for clarification, that I repeatedly refer to them as βGatebuildersβ. But as Elvi points out, the plurality is a misnomer. The word βhive mindβ is meaningless - all there is, is mind. Just as you and I are not a βhive mindβ of the billions of neurons that contribute to our consciousness, so too were they not a βhive mindβ of the myriad nodes that contributed to theirs. They were a mind, and therefore βGatebuilderβ or βLeviathanβ, singular, would be a more accurate term. But because that is almost grating to our human perception, Iβll continue to refer to them in the plural.
Most of this information is contained within The Dreamer chapters and Elviβs followup, expl
... keep reading on reddit β‘Iβve been binge-reading all the news articles about what the hell EON is going to do now, and nkw it seems that John Hodge has left the production as well, likely a death-knell to his original script for BOND25.
Babs and Mickey G. need to screw their heads on straight and stop courting prestige directors. The taste that they got with the success of Mendesβ SKYFALL has absolutely corrupted the business sense thatβs kept the OO7 series on top for over 50 years.
These films have worked just fine as a producerβs medium. The βworkman directorβ approach that Broccoli/Saltzman stuck with has worked for over half a century, and what have we seen within the last seven years, post-SKYFALL? More delays and production scuttlebutt than the series has ever experienced; the issue is that now, the producers are trying to appease prestige directors that have no problem walking away, or digging in their heels.
Broccoli and Saltzman knew the series was bigger than itβs creative team. The business approach adhered to by the original producers has ultimately proven true; James Bond is bigger than any man or woman attached the series.
With the state of Bond25, I hope we donβt get a delay, although I know itβs likely and best for this production. The Purvis and Wade script waiting in the wings might very well be a blessing in disguise, but Iβm already getting chilling reminders of SPECTREβs muddy production, such as setpieces already built that needed to be adapted into updated scripts, etc.
This series has gone off the rails, production-wise, since Wilson and Broccoli got a taste of prestige with SKYFALL. Itβs my hope that with Danny Boyle nuking this production so late in the game, itβll be the final reminder that what made these films work was never auteurs, it was the family business approach that kept the creative hierarchy in check.
