A list of puns related to "Employment and Training Administration"
I know, I know. I'm spoiled piece of shit, that's what I feel like too. I feel like crying even as I write this because this is so wrong, why the hell can't I just work like a normal person and pay for my bills myself?
My entire childhood and growing up years were messed up. I developed a perfectionistic personality due to some of the stuff and basically developed a horrible inner critic that tortured me. Every time I would try to do something, the inner critic would bully me to the point where I would be suicidal. I'm unemployed and don't work because I'm afraid of it, I feel worthless, I feel like I'm not good enough, I feel afraid that the inner critic will crucify me. I want to work, make no mistake about that, I hate it so much that I'm financially dependent on my parents. I need therapy in order to overcome this and I am in therapy right now, I started therapy recently.
My family controls me with money and they use that as a threat every time. I don't ask them for anything but they do pay my medical bills. They have often threatened to stop paying. I also have another serious health issue where without a good education, even if I get a job, it'll be impossible for me to pay for those issues myself. This is why I really need to get my college degree. What I need more than anything is therapy. I don't have insurance, they don't believe in insurance and they didn't buy it when I was a kid, I became ill as a kid and now no insurance will cover me where I'm at because I already have a pre-existing conditions. That isn't even the issue though, the issue is that I should be working and paying my own bills.
I feel so helpless, so pathetic, so small right now. I'm in my mid 20s, I am capable of working, it's so wrong that I don't. I cannot even explain my reasons and my fears because even those sound pathetic. All I can say is that them threatening to stop paying for therapy is making me suicidal which is so freaking stupid too. There's a solution to my issue, right? just work! Simple. Except I am paralysed by the fear of working. I need therapy to overcome that. I know I don't deserve anyone's sympathy and I'm not asking for it, everyone works, even sick people work, so what right do I have to complain. It's my fault, I know. I'm feeling very low right so please don't attack me here, I know my situation is my fault.
Got the start up money today but two days before my worker sent it she talked about receipts for my business. Do I really have to send receipts? What if the total is say $300 do I have to give $200 back? Thanks in advance
It's been almost 2 years of numerous requests from Service Canada and my self through snail mail for the SS administration to send a copy of record of employment to Service Canada office from the office of Social Security.
I've called, sent forms and Service Canada has also requested with no response. They will only accept documents from office to office. I'm at my wits end.
Can anyone please assist me ?
Iβve known this is going to be an issue for the last few years when I was ready to leave my job, and I am getting close to that point. Definitely looking to apply for positions out of the city Iβm in but Iβve been working with the organization with for quite some time now.
Definitely could use tips on how to outline my work with this organization, and any thing else that could be helpful to my specific situation. For example, It seems very difficult to convey the extent of my position in just one page.
(Also Iβm very new here so this has been addressed before feel free to direct me in the right direction if you are able to.)
I am a PhD student, and work a few hours a week as a "demonstrator" (teaching assistant kind of thing) on a zero hours contract. All of us got an email today saying we have to attend a compulsory 2.5hour "performance review" which all university staff attend yearly. I have no problems attending the review, it seems like a standard thing with other jobs I've done before, but am I right in thinking we should be paid for the time spent doing this review? There was nothing mentioned in the email we were all sent.
Hey everyone! Iβm a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor for Paralyzed Veterans of America and my main responsibility is to help veterans with finding and maintaining employment. As a part of the Veterans Career Program, we also have weekly Veterans Career Live sessions where we have training sessions and employer networking events to help veterans improve their marketability and to find employment.
Our organization also has National Service Officers that we work with to assist with disability claims with the VA.
If you all have any questions about employment, training, or education opportunities, Iβd be happy to answer them!
Is it legal here in BC to expect your employers to do online training without getting paid?
I have been working at a fairly known fast food chain for a couple months now. I have done their online training before I actually started employment which was fine.
However now they added so much more online training for everyone and gave us all a deadline otherwise we would not be put on a schedule. Every other job before that had me do online training was when I was clocked in or even when I was doing them at home I was paid for the training.
I asked my manager if I was getting paid doing them at home (which would take hours) she just said no. Also it seem like they constantly seem to require more online training from the looks of it. Is it wrong for me to want to get payed?
Administered by the departmentβs Employment and Training Administration, the Trade Adjustment Assistance for Workers Program supports training, employment and case management services, job search and relocation allowances, and income support during training. In addition, the program provides a subsidy to workers, aged 50 or older, whose reemployment wages are lower than the wages earned in their prior trade-affected employment. This distribution follows an initial allocation of $240.8 million provided to states in January 2021.
Congress did not reauthorize the TAA program by its June 30 deadline. On July 1, the program reverted to its previous version, referred to as Reversion 2021. Without reauthorization, much of the TAA funding will end upon the program's termination on June 30, 2022.

TL:DR - Get that sweet government cheddar and help communities out at the same time?
My sister's job description was changed and they asked her to find another job. She refused and requested training to meet the new requirements. As a result they put her on a PIP and told her she had X amount of days to meet the requirements. On track to meet the requirements she was pulled in before deadline today and fired. She's only about 40 and grew up in the job and company.. Being tossed like trash.. Severance is a joke. What should she be getting and how should she negotiate?
