Probably my favorite moments in the whole series and it really lands because of that song. Which is also what plays right before Kenβs press conference. The soundtrack for this whole show is underrated.
Itβs an awesome show, based on the Murdoch family. Itβs like modern day Lannisterβs.
This is just my opinion and not a ranking. Here is what I believe to be the 8 times Succession has struck gold and given us a perfect episode front to back:
Which Side Are You On? - S1 Ep6
Tern Haven - S2 Ep5
DC - S2 Ep9
This Is Not For Tears - S2 Ep10
Mass In Time Of War - S3 Ep2
Retired Janitors Of Idaho - S3 Ep5
Chiantishire - S3 Ep8
All The Bells Say - S3 Ep9
One from Season One, 3 from Season 2, and 4 from Season 3.
There are some notable exceptions that almost made it including Austerlitz, Nobody Is Ever Missing, Safe Room, Hunting, and What It Takes.
However I feel pretty rock solid on my takes. I always know when Iβve just watched a 10/10 Succession episode. I donβt think thereβs a single bad one, and my lowest ratings would be 7/10 for the first 3 probably, but after that they sailed on to consistent glory. Forever my favourite show.
Edit: Is there a point in posting your opinions on here if theyβre just going to get downvoted to shit? Literally said this is my own take, but because I missed a couple that I didnβt love as much, Iβm getting downvoted. Weird to see this community become toxic
I have seen each episode at least three times, including last night's episode, and during my most recent watch through I have been compiling my rankings of each episode as follows:
Which episodes do I overrate and which episodes do I underrate?
For the record, I love this show and have enjoyed every single episode. I even really enjoy the ones that I have near the bottom like Prague, which is one of the funniest episodes of the series to me. Which episode is directly above the other can change with the day, but they hover in the same range that they are listed here.

From Hannibal Lecter in Manhunter to media magnate Logan Roy in HBOβs global smash-hit series Succession, Brian Cox is an actor of unparalleled distinction and versatility β but few know his extraordinary life storyβ¦
Join him for this exclusive live event, as he shares a rags-to-riches tale like no other, to celebrate the publication of his long-awaited memoir, Putting the Rabbit in the Hat.
In conversation with Hadley Freeman, Brian will talk about his incredible rise to stardom and answers his own question: βHow does a wee kid from Dundee get to be in films?β Cox will consider his rough and ready upbringing in Dundee, the death of his father aged eight, being brought up by his elder sisters in the aftermath of his motherβs nervous breakdowns and hospitalisation and joining the Dundee Repertory Theatre (where he frequently ended up sleeping).
You could say the rest is history. But that would overlook the enormous graft that has gone into making the man into the legend. In his words: βmy upbringing is so much a part of me itβs written through me like words through a stick of rock.β
