A list of puns related to "Drill bit sizes"
Hi, we've just moved into our new house and I'm looking to put up a mirror on our plasterboard. I purchased these wall anchors (https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B081DW33C9/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) and I'm planning to use the M5x52 wall anchor. However it doesn't say with the product what size drill bit I should use for the hole - I don't really want to be experimenting with different drill bits incase I ruin the plasterboard. Thanks.
I find that in bricks I make wider holes no matter how careful / slow I try.
Ps: Brand new concrete bit using the hammer setting.
My concrete fixing is 7.5mm in width.
I'm drilling into concrete block. Should the drill bit be the same size or slightly bigger?
I tried using the 1.5 mm bit that comes with the citadel drill, but that pretty much destroyed the gun barrel. I use 1.5 mm for normal bolters and when comparing them to the bolter pistol they appear to have the same size gun barrel. 1.5 mm is also what GW labels as bolter size. I had a perfect 1 mm hole in the barrel and was contemplating whether or not I should even go for the 1.5 mm. Obviously I shouldn't have, but that's a lesson learned. I just don't really get why it shredded the barrel.
Also are the small holes on the side of the barrel meant to be drilled out? I know they are on larger guns, but I can't find anything depicting a reiver's bolter pistol from that angle so I can't tell.
More often than not, the diameter on the front of the packaging will be the diameter of the screw, not the diameter of the expansion plug. For example, the front of the packaging will state 8mm, but the expansion plugs will require a 10mm drill bit.
Iβm telling you this because I could have saved myself a trip to the DIY store this week if I had been any less of an idiot. Another LPT is to buy a shedload of drill bits of all sizes right from the start of you can afford it.
