I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.

First, here is a look at the playspace and what an in-action game looks like.
Intent
There are a lot of great Star Wars dice and card games that have come and gone over the years, but recently none have scratched my specific "itch", or exactly what I wanted to see from a game. Legacy Battles is intended to be a more traditional type of card game that is a little bit more upfront and easy to pick up than some of the previous games... which leads me to:
Inspiration
Legacy Battles is influenced by a few popular older and newer games; specifically Magic, Yu-Gi-Oh, Gwent, and Hearthstone. You'll recognize some systems and themes from these games.
Aesthetic
When it came to designing the actual cards, I wanted something that felt and looked like a modern card game, but at the same time, honored and threw back specifically to the old Topps Star Wars trading cards from the '70s and '80s.
Hopefully, it translates well and you'll be able to see what I was going for. Here is a close up example of a Holographic Legend unit.
All of the character arts for the cards are official Lucasfilm images from various artists. I heavily edited and changed many of them but the awesome original works can be found on each artist's deviant art profiles, which I will link. Shoutout and thanks to Lucasfilm and the great artists: Kai Lim, Anthony Devine, R-Valle, Jake Murray, Anthony Foti, Thaldir, AlMaNeGrA, Manzanedo, Darren Tan, Lucas Durham, Michal Ivan, Allen Douglas, Jason Juta, and Leonid Kozienko.
I have created 7 decks/factions with two more (High Republic and New Republic) in the works.
You won't find endless possibilities for builds, every Faction has an identity and a curated system of combos and synergies with a little bit of wiggle room here and there.
