A list of puns related to "Do Not Call Register"
I get call after call trying to sell me things related to the State Government's green incentives (LED lights, solar panels, etc). Calls come from spoofed caller ID (if you return the call you get someone completely unrelated to the call centre).
My number has been on the DNC register for years (renewed whne needed) and I've made several complaints to ACMA without them having any impact. The ACMA haven't been able to identify the callers.
I've tried nice and nasty. Everything from politely asking them to stop calling, to telling the caller to drink bleach, to pretending to be a crazy preacher, and basically everything in between.
I'm open to playing along with the lead generation calls long enough to find the Australian business behind them if anyone has had any success with doing that. But does anything else work?
The website for the registry is https://www.donotcall.gov
To be clear, there are a lot of companies that are privy to this list and have found legal workarounds, but it still does cover a pretty substantial number of telemarketers
Also, there are alternative websites for Great Britain, Australia, and Canada.

I have registered for the do not call registry years ago. I get multiple calls per day from dodgy telemarketers.
Is there any point to the registry? Can I do anything to cut down on the calls?

>Telemarketers have 31 days from the date you register to stop contacting you.
Because the number block is new for Fizz, I bet none of the numbers are on the list right now. I recommend people to register so that telemarketers don't spam your number.
If you are tired of robo callers and annoying telemarketers, register your numbers at donotcall.gov.
I am getting spammed by SMS so because I'm on the donotcall register, I asked ACMA.
According to ACMA:
Examples of unwanted communications that fall outside the scope of the Do Not Call rules include:
Miss Deadline.

It's totally free
If you did a lot of holiday shopping, there's a good chance more retailers than ever have your phone number. Before it gets out to telemarketers, now's a great time to register for the Do Not Call list if you haven't already done so. :)

It's really annoying but before the lobby loads it's fine and after we get kicked because I couldn't choose a god it's fine.
Email just arrived from Choice.
My view is also that Opt-Out should be the default position.
> Have you ever sat down for dinner, only to be rudely interrupted by a telemarketing call?
> These unwanted calls can be a major nuisance for many consumers. The introduction of the Do Not Call registry in 2007 gave us welcome relief, allowing Australians to opt out of receiving telemarketing calls.
> Two-thirds of Australian households and almost four million mobile numbers have since signed up to opt out of nuisance calls.
> Now you can help improve the system.
> The government wants to know your views on the Do Not Call registration process - currently, your registration lapses after eight years. Other options proposed include reducing the registration period to three years, removing the time limit so you stay registered, and removing the requirement to register altogether.
> CHOICE's position is that Australians should be shielded from nuisance calls by default, so there should be no need to register. We think the huge number of people who've taken the effort to register shows the majority don't want nuisance calls, and those who do can opt in.
> I encourage you to contact the Department of Communications with your views.
> To make a submission, contact DNC.consultation@communications.gov.au and tell them which approach to registration you prefer and why. Submissions close 31 January 2014.
> For more information, visit the Department of Communication's website.

That title probably sounds like word vomit, I was having trouble making my question concise enough for a title.
Basically, in my early 20s, I would have men call or text me or even send me handwritten letters from trips to tell me they miss me and canβt wait to see me or just anything to show their excitement to date me and their desire to see me.
It made me feel happy and loved and I would reread those texts or replay the phone call in my head afterwards because they made me feel so warm.
In my late 20s I noticed these types of affectionate βjust thinking about you/miss youβ messages and calls stopped. In my early 30s, I feel like the men I met have a complete aversion to having any feelings of missing their partner or really any level of connectedness.
Iβm currently breaking up with my partner partially because of this. I feel emotionally starved. But thinking about dating has me feeling down as well. Do men just stop becoming affectionate and expressive over their love as they get older, or have I just been having bad luck?
Edit: thanks everyone for all the responses! There was some great thoughts and feedback. Some responses to FAQ:
yes, Iβve communicated these desires. Iβm big on explicit communication and not leaving your partner guessing. Iβve been told that they (compliments/cute texts and gestures) are too cheesy
yes, I reciprocate these actions! I love making the people in my life feel specialβ¦ friends, family, coworkers, and romantic partners. Iβve shown my love through cute texts and letters, doordashing snacks on a busy and stressful work day, picking up items that they might need (ex has an itchy beard so I did some research and bought him a nice beard shampoo and oil set that he loved and repurchased frequently), making dinner, planning dates, etc.
