A list of puns related to "Discovery Channel (Canadian TV channel)"
I remember watching this when I was younger in the late 2000s, maybe even early 2010s, most likely on Discovery Channel because I don't remember other channels that did that kind of science stuff. From what I recall, it was a TV special about the impact of global warming shown in different stages, from level 1 to level 5 or maybe 7. I vividly remember a scene from one of the higher levels, maybe the last stage, in which a city that looked like NYC got completely flooded. The scene was kind of extreme, like a tsunami going through the tall buildings as a result of the extreme global warming that we could soon face. I've always wanted to rewatch this because I found it incredibly interesting, so I would really appreciate some help!
EDIT: NatGeo could also be an option! But I've always had Discovery Channel in mind. Also Animal Planet and The History Channel, but those are less likely.
I noticed in the credits of Discovery Channel that the hosts get different titles in various shows. In some shows they are called "talent" while in other shows they are called "host," and still in other shows they are called "presenter." It seems like they all do the same thing
I remember when the shows on these channels used to be fun and entertaining as well as informative. Now it's just crap scripted documentaries.
Wondering which shows you enjoyed that are your favourites from that era
Like 4 contestants get dropped off in 4 different locations around the world for a week and then they switch spots with each other until all 4 have survived at all locations. I can't find it anywhere.
As from the title idk much about the broadcasting rights of the show but the show was about the fitness and strength tests among various men and women.
It was probably sponsored by adidas or reebok or some of that fitness apparel and equipment brands. It had its name along the name of something Spartan related.
Around four men and four women were competing against each other along various strength and conditioning exercises and runs and tests. Those who won were allowed into the castle of sparta and there were eliminations with the one staying inside the castle at the end wins. There were castle challenges where people inside the castle competed with people who lost and were forced to stay in camps.
It was a very good show.
I remember only one game from that show, A tyre from a truck was attached to ropes from four sides forming a plus like shape with the ropes. At the end of each rope were men pulling it in a tug of war with a mud pit in the middle. The tyre was thus pulled from all directions. All four men pulled on the rope and tyre and the weak would get pulled along with the tyre into the mud pit and get disqualified. Thus the next three would pull against each other and so on and so forth.
I have forgotten any other details but this is what I remember about the show.
Growing up these chancels were my favorite. A place to learn about the world, science, history and nature. Now the majority of it all is reality tv crap. None of the stuff there is educational just drivel. Why is history channel even a thing anymore? Change the station name because nearly every show has little to do with any history. Swamp people? Pawn Stars? What does either show have to do with history???
Sigh, I use to watch these channels when I got home from school because I was fascinated by the world around me. I actually paid a fee just to access the history channel vaults of old documentaries they used to have. There use to be a time when these channels would feed the mind knowledge, now all they do is feed the mind junk food...sigh again..
I remember watching an alien show on the Discovery Channel? At least on of those βscienceβ based channels. Might have been the History Channel or NatGeo maybe? Anyways the premis of the show was like a βwhat if Aliens came to Earth?β it was a whole fake senario and everything. I remember distinctly that the alien ship was the size of Texas and orbited the Earth. Later generations of humans had alien dna or something? something like that I really want to watch it again.
Hello! We are filming a new Discovery Channel show in Yucca Arizona, featuring a Native American woman, and looking for Native Americans with experience leading PowWow's or other traditional ceramonies who would be interested in being featured on the show! Please feel free to ask questions about the show or recommend someone who might be interested! Thank you
It was one guy presenting it. He was American and I distinctly remember one episode where he sat in a room with loads of flies as they devoured all the food in the room with him. He also says in that episode βlife without flies would be strange indeedβ.
Iβm fairly certain he also allowed a leach to attach to his leg once, there was also a cicada episode and thatβs all i remember.
I remember watching this show as a kid and I really want to find it and rewatch it.
Just my personal experience
Hi,
Would like to request Shudder Discovery+ and Dark Matter TV streaming channels to be added, please. Apologies if Discovery+ is already added as I am too lazy to check. LOL.
I know you can get Shudder through Amazon but I prefer the actual Shudder.
Thanks
It had a Jazz-like intro, I remember the upbeat saxophone playing while the intro credits were rolling.
To promote CBS All Accessβs change to Paramount+ tomorrow, March 4th, all the Paramount+ exclusive Trek series will be airing on YouTubeβs official Star Trek channel throughout the day. (edited, corrected).
They also launched a Paramount+ Picks channel on Pluto TV that will promote the service on an ongoing basis, and will include samplings from their original shows, including the various Star Trek series.
This 30-minute-ish show has a female narrator and two British guys as hosts. The two typically visit manufacturing plants and investigate wacky science stuff like exploding airplane tires, and more.
Then thereβs this segment where one of the hosts, named Johnny(?), cuts things like bowling balls in half with an angle grinder. After he finishes, he says βmore grinder action next timeβ, or something along those lines.
I think the end credits of the show has the two hosts mucking about as well, and I also distinctly remember the intro/outro music they used to be quite catchy.
I would like to get the discovery channels for my kids and I am curious if it is possible to stream them on the apple tv.
