Debtor collection period Puns

I only owe about 5,000usd, not including my car loan. Out of the the 5 grand is divided between 4 collectors or banks, which accounts are now closed and marked as delinquent, not payed as agreed. I know I can settle them all, and be marked as settled, but I heard that's not too great. Even if I pay them full it's still will be delinquencies on my account. Can I ask to settle and remove all negative marks they made, including not listing the account as settled?

Ive read some info saying yes, and some no, and some rather complicated, or rather I didn't understand. If the answer is yes or no, can you explain it like I'm 5.thank you.

I recieved a letter saying I owe a debt. I try to call to pay and they ask for my account number and debtor number. I have the account but they gave me no debtor number on the letter. Where am I supposed to find that??

Edit: I figured it out. Had to call and choose the review account information option. Even then, the number was said so fast I had to hang up and do the process over twice because there's no option to have them repeat it. Such a horrible system. Don't know why they didn't include it in the damn letter, or why you can't speak to a real person. Just glad this is over I guess. I'm keeping this post up in case some other poor soul has to deal with this agency.

I lived in a home on a land contract in 2016, lost a forfeiture hearing to the home owner on December 2016 and moved out of the house in March 2017. I owed a money judgment for the payments that I missed on the land contract. I declared bankruptcy, chapter 7, in April 2017. I listed the home owner and their forfeiture case/debt as part of it. The home owner appeared at the discharge hearing trying to argue for that debt to paid then claimed damage happened to some furniture and appliances. A discharge was granted in July 2017 that included the home owner and their original judgment. Now in July 2021 that home owner is suing me in small claims court for damage to the house, furniture and appliances - far more than originally claimed. We couldn't agree to any terms in mediation and the mediators were confused about any potential liability due to any potential liability for damage occurring before the discharge date along with the home owner being properly notified of the bankruptcy hearing and being present at that hearing.

Would I need to do more than present proof of the day that I left the home and a copy of the bankruptcy discharge at the upcoming hearing? Is this "new" debt that occurs within the discharge period for a notified debtor something that they would be able to collect on or have a chance of winning in small claims court?

Additional Info: There weren't any payouts/debts nor any surrendering of property that I was ordered to pay in my bankruptcy. Everything that I listed was discharged, there'd be no pool of money that the home owner could have potentially drew from then.

So, I had a medical bill of $280.80 that went to collections. I made an offer of $200 and they settled, I paid $200 plus a processing fee for my card of $5.95 on Dec. 10th. Fast forward to this week, the original debtor sent me a bill for $80.80. Is that legal?

Hello, (we live in Surrey, England)

1. We have sued our ex landlord for disrepair and won at the Small court claim. Sum is couple of thousands.

2. The address on the contract is a UK one. We think his brother lives in this address

3. We paid our rent through a real estate agency.

4. We dont know if he has a UK bank account - for all we know the agency might deposit the money of the rent in his brother UK bank account and the brother pass it to his brother (the landlord) who resides in Iran.

5. Is there a way to get a court order which will force the real estate agency to pass the money he gets from rent (he has multiply properties) directly to us/the court till the debt is being paid?

6. Is there a way to force the agency to disclose (to the court) to which account his money is going to, sent by them?

What is the best rout to take to get our money please?

Forgive me as I'm on mobile but I'll try to be as clear as possible. In 2014 I graduated with a BA in Education. I made payments as I should until I was unable to work due to pregnancy and preterm labor. I tried deferment but the loan had already gone into collections. When I contacted Student Aid they could never locate my loan. I asked if they could search by social security number and I was always scoffed at and said they couldn't look it up that way. My loan falls into capital garnishments of our taxes for the past few years and no one has ever been able to locate my loan.

Come this past Tuesday a creditor with Bass and Associates calls and it's my student loan they are looking to collect on. They read my name and it's spelled wrong, wrong enough to be an entirely different name. When I signed my paperwork for the loan (digitally) I spelled everything correct.

I feel cheated that the Department of Education and Bass and Associates have set on my loan that I was unable to locate and they would never help me find and it has incurred as much interest as it has.. where I should only have maybe $2k left I have $8,200.

Is there any legal ground here? I get free representation through my husbands company. But from the calls to Student Aid and the garnishments by the Department of Education I should be almost done paying it off. I only had $12k to begin with and they have taken $3k in taxes for the past 5 years.

Any help here would be great.

I have a collection agency on me right now. They have been calling me once / twice a day now. Is it getting annoying? Yes.

What will they do next? How do they go about collecting debt?

A collection agency called me in regards to a debt I had with Scotiabank back in 2014. When I switch my account to CIBC, Scotiabank charged me with the yearly $150 for their credit card. I'm quite sure I payed them off...but, unfortunately, cannot find my old receipts.

I got a call from a collection agency telling me that I owe them $1700 because of interests and costs of recovering and they are telling me that I can't ask scotiabank to pay them back. I have to go through the collection agency ONLY.

Is this right? I wouldn't mind paying scotiabank $150 since i fuckedup and didnt keep my receipts...but there is no way in fucking hell i'm paying $1700..
