A list of puns related to "Dance and Cry"
In Ramona Shelburneβs new article, βAn all-access Michael Jordan documentary? How 'The Last Dance' was made possibleβ, she lays out the behind-the-scenes production that led to Michael Jordan finally saying yes to a documentary using footage filmed originally in 1998, the last year of The Bulls Championship Dynasty.
βCoincidentally,β the date came the morning of LeBron and the Cavs Championship Parade in 2016. The article talks to the producer, Mike Tollin, and the director, Jason Hehir, among others to get how it all went down. My favorite nugget was this part about how MJ reacted when he saw Tollin had done the Allen Iverson documentary:
"So there's Kareem [Abdul-Jabbar], there's Hank Aaron, there's 'Varsity Blues,' there's 'Coach Carter' and so forth," Tollin said. "He's actually looking at them all, and in the bottom right corner is 'Iverson.' He goes, 'You did that?'"
Tollin didn't answer. Jordan repeated the question.
Tollin wondered if this was going to work for or against him. Like the timing with the Cavaliers' championship parade that morning, it was impossible to know.
Tollin mumbled a cautious, "Yes."
Jordan took his glasses off, looked up and said, "I watched that thing three times. Made me cry. Love that little guy."
Then he walked around the desk, extended his hand and said, "Let's do it."

On to track three! "Get Up" was the first single released from Dance and Cry early in September. The idea for the song came to Ryan on a Costa Rican beach. Here's a Video of Ryan and Jasmine Talking about How the Song Came to Be.
The first piece of new music from the album we heard when it was released, "Get Up" begins with an ominous repetitive howl and chromatic guitar line that contrasts the uplifting and forward marching chorus that soon follows. A chorus that which speaks to themes of getting up, of your ass, and following your ambitions. Of course, as the prechoruses remind us, it's not always a simple task to rise above the things what we're stuck underneath.
Selected Lyrics:
"For such a lovely thing,
You sure are in your own way.
I'd love to give you wings,
But babe you've got to grow them."
After being around for over a month, how is everyone feeling about this tune? Did you enjoy the song? Do you think it works as the first single? What did you think about the music video? Add your thoughts below!
Below is my list of games that are up for trade. I have linked my personal game collection mainly so you know what not to offer. You can try and make an offer on anything in that list, but you'll probably have a bad time. I apologize in advance for my narrow wants so I may decline a lot of offers. I try to be fair though. Thanks for looking!
I have a big stack of Pokemon cards I'd like to get rid of. There's about 30 star and/or shiny cards in the stack.
I just got a PS3, so offer away!
Newly Added:
No matter how many times I watch, I canβt figure it out. A quick recap, Ben throws a gala for the Icelandic investment team. He and Cath have a little argument about her finding a poker chip from One Eyed Jacks in his stuff. They rejoin the party, music begins to play for some reason, and Leland starts crying uncontrollably. Ben implores Catherine to dance with Leland as a cover for his instability, and the ruse works, as everyone joins in. Then, cut to Audrey, who is now crying... this leads to her getting all nekkid in Coopβs bed, but thatβs a different story..
What gets her so sad??
Thank you
And I legit thought that would kill me but it didnβt, so I can tell that Iβm free of an one sided/kinda toxic relationship.
Thanks Taylor for describe exactly how I feel
I canβt wait for Sunday because I wanna see Amy vs Maura vs Curtis
I just realized how much I miss the 90s / early 2000s. Life wasnβt really better but it was simpler. Different. Everything had more value to it. Remember driving with someone listening to the radio and when your favorite song used to play turning up the volume and singing along? You just cherished that moment. Now you just open Spotify and itβs there. Same with trailers, sports replays, just everything. I donβt know why this song hit me so much. Itβs one of these songs that would play in the credits of rom coms. Itβs nothing too special. But it just woke something up in me. Does anyone else miss these simpler times?
