A list of puns related to "Ryan Guldemond"
I was reading his/their wikipedia article and found that it was recently edited (December 23rd) to switch he/him pronouns to they/them (without a source in the edit note). I searched around for more info on this but couldn't find anything. I did find an article from October 22 of this year that noted none of the bandmates identify as non-binary: https://www.rollingstone.com/pro/news/mother-mother-viral-tiktok-charts-1079256/.
Heβs the lead guitarist of Mother Mother.
Thereβs a good shot of it in this video at about 4:23 :

Lead singer & guitarist, Ryan Guldemond, of indie rock band, Mother Mother, joins us on this Virtual Series episode of The Adamantium Podcast. We discuss their new album, Inside, and how the pandemic forced them to create music differently, their latest single, βSick of the Silence,β and its meditative roots, as well as the amazing music video of fan submitted footage for βI Got Love.β We also talk about their recent TikTok driven popularity for their 2008 album, O My Heart, and how its allowed them to connect with new and younger fans, preparing to go back on the road, and Ryanβs love for photography.
I don't know why, I don't know how.
I made a post about a month ago of, well, what the title says, and a few weeks ago I went to edit it to fix a typo, and when I pressed save, everything was deleted. So yeah hopefully this time it works.
I had a bit of an introduction to what's gonna be on here but I'm not typing that again rn lol (I may add it later). Just know that I'm not including most of the bonus tracks because they're on Spotify where I live (Canada). Also I categorize by album but it's more like the time period surrounding it as well.

Back in late 2017, I was working in Edmonton with a production company on a corporate gig at the (formerly known as) Shaw Conference Centre. The hosts hired a Vancouver cover group called Famous Players to perform, which included Mike Young on keyboards. I introduced myself to him as one of the VIP attendees for the Grande Prairie show of the No Culture tour that year, but it got cooler when speaking to the guitarist of the group as well (can't recall his name).
This guitarist said he had been friends with Ryan since 2013? and that sometimes Ryan would send him demos that he'd throw together himself over a couple of hours. I was able to hear a clip that featured a distinct yodeling vocal track of Ryan's, and have recently came to find that it seems to be part of what became the vocals for "Weep." Kinda interesting to think of how long a musical idea can sit on the backburner before being utilized, considering this was a year before even Dance and Cry came out.
Just thought it'd be fun to share a personal story about this band we like (or how about getting the Ryan Guldemond cold shoulder in Penticton three years before? haha totally warranted, though)
Do your worst!
r/modestmouse for anyone interested in another great band imo.
Both have similar sound, after all both are indie rock bands.
Mom^2 reminds me a lot of modest mouse, especially modest mouse's first few albums, except that mother mother sounds a lot more polished.
Both have socially conscious lyrics (mother mother is though a bit more for the non binary and lgbtq and people who suffer from dysphoria, etc and modest mouse for the people who are fed up with consumerism, and pollution and the destruction of our planet, that doesn't mean that they don't have songs that aren't socially conscious but rather just speak about other subjects, example Hayloft or Modest Mouse's Little Motel or Ice Cream Party, imo one of the saddest songs out there, and relatable for a lot of us)
Ryan does remind me of Mouse's Isaac Brock in vocals, and Molly to some degree. Similar vocal delivery.

Thoughts? Anything i may have gotten wrong?
Edit: i forgot to say some differences though, like modest mouse being a bit more psychedelic.
For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.
I said "hey look, an escaPEA"
No one near me but it didn't half make me laugh for a good hour or so!
Edit: I can't believe how much this has blown up. Thank you everyone I've had a blast reading through the replies π

Dad jokes are supposed to be jokes you can tell a kid and they will understand it and find it funny.
This sub is mostly just NSFW puns now.
If it needs a NSFW tag it's not a dad joke. There should just be a NSFW puns subreddit for that.
Edit* I'm not replying any longer and turning off notifications but to all those that say "no one cares", there sure are a lot of you arguing about it. Maybe I'm wrong but you people don't need to be rude about it. If you really don't care, don't comment.
What did 0 say to 8 ?
" Nice Belt "
So What did 3 say to 8 ?
" Hey, you two stop making out "
When I got home, they were still there.

This morning, my 4 year old daughter.
Daughter: I'm hungry
Me: nerves building, smile widening
Me: Hi hungry, I'm dad.
She had no idea what was going on but I finally did it.
Thank you all for listening.
