6 weeks ago, I tripped and fell over something, causing swelling and bruising to the top of my foot. Initial x rays showed nothing, and then more x rays were done 4 weeks later (attached). Due to nothing also showing on my MRI but still being in pain, my doctor thinks a bone spur is impinging a nerve.

I do have a bump that is right where he thinks the bone spur is, but I have a similar bump on the other foot (though smaller). I am nervous to just jump into surgery, and not having very clear definitive explanations on imaging it seems.

It would be over the dorsal 1st metatarsal-cuneiform joint and base of 1st interspace.

Id like to know how to prevent this injury, it makes walking or putting any weight on my feet extremely painful. I don't have any visual symptoms. No redness, or swelling apparent.

So I did the big no no and I googled the condition before I have had the chance to see the specialist this week and I have sufficiently scared the crap out of myself. Any helpful advice or information? I don’t have a whole lot of information regarding the extent of my case but will know more once I meet with the specialist. I have never used drugs, I don’t have more then one drink 4-5 times a year, I’ve never been on high or prolonged doses of steroids, and I don’t have any other issues that I read are contributing factors to avascular necrosis. I am allergic to NSAIDs (aspirin, naproxen sodium, ibuprofen, Celebrex etc) so I’ve been told my only treatment option is to wear a walking boot for 6 weeks and see if I have any improvement and then surgery if no improvement has been observed.
Any words of wisdom or calming advice will be very welcomed!!! Thank you!!!!

Hi, wondering if you could help me with some foot discomfort. Last night I started to feel some slight discomfort on my foot, on the regions of what today discovered to be the navicular or cuneiform bone, i cant really pin point it by looking at anatomy pics. What I can tell is that the pain is dull and located right in the middle of the length of the big toe to the heel axis, and slightly to the outside of my (right)foot, about 0.5 to 1 inch off the center of my 4" wide foot towards the outside of the foot. It has a radius of about 3/4 of an inch but concentrated in that area when pressure is not applied. There is a slight swelling but almost imperceivable, and no visible hematoma or change in color.

I have had similar sudden "morning after" pain on my ankles before, and it have taken a few days of immobilization to recover.

I can walk with some pain, and if I lift my feet towards my leg it allows me to lessen the pain as I put pressure on it by leaning on my heel.

My question is if this could be related to a form of dehydration after weekend of junk food and drinking even if its not extreme? Or could prolonged junk food diet, coffee, and lack of exercise could be causing this recurrent foot pains? Ive had them every 6 month or so for the last 3-4 years. Also I walk an uneven walkway everyday at home, would that be the real factor? me hurting my foot on a bad step every few months just by the chance of it happening? Even if I never notice the actual injury when it happens? Is that how these micro injuries happen? do they take them 2 days to "gestate" and pain to arrive? Did I answer my own medical question?

It’s a bright sunny afternoon and Imizael’s personal craft has landed, but its occupants are still nestled in around the still sleeping human, as while they’re enjoying the situation they have to face reality.

As the silence it distured by Miralana’s Omni-pad vibrating, she slowly extercates herself from the pile and retrieving it, the other three give her a questioning look as she whispers a curse “Oh Damn” now wearing a pissed off expression “we’ve got that meeting soon.”

Both Gly’nrie and Shal’endra are now fully awake with a look of panic as they realise that they’ll have to get back to London, as their volume increases, Imizael shushes them and hisses “You can use the Comm suite in the main room!,” Gly’nrie and Shal’endra slowly rose and the three were about to walkout into the main room until there's the sound of Imizael snapping her fingers to get their attention.

They turned as one and saw her pointing at the personal cleansing unit, and whispered “Get cleaned up first and you can use my clothes” this seemed to relieve the trio as they lumbered their way over and in turn whispered their ‘thanks’.

Some time later they emerged and raided her wardrobe and made their way out, as a technician waited for them to get set up.

I do sense a lot of blood flow to your limbs, and your pupils are still very dilated, but other than that you should be fine. How do you feel?”

“Sober. Clear. But not in a good way.” Sam replied as she felt her jaw slowly clench and unclench as she spoke. Or rather, the feeling of her mouth was back again. “Feels like some heat is traveling from my neck, where you injected the counteragent, to my head. My mouth is also dry and cotton-like. Very dry.”

“Here you go sweetie.” Whiskey said as she handed Sam a glass of water, which she immediately chugged.

“How much do you remember?” Vee asked as she turned back to the medical terminal and continued checking on things.

“Uh. A lot? Everything, I think. But it was very, uh, fluid.” Sam answered.

“Fun too, huh?” Aht asked.

“Uh, yeah, uh, sure.” Sam meekly replied as she tried to avoid eye contact with Whiskey. “And thanks, uh- for the water.”

“Oh, don’t worry about it.” Whiskey said as she gave Sam a comforting touch on her shoulder with another wink. “This isn’t the first time you’ve done this, and I know what you’re feeling right now. It’s very much appreciated.”

this is my nerdy post for other language nerds ;)
So I pored over Sumerian, Akkadian and cuneiform script for the last couple of days and now I will share what I discovered. Though I pored over languages long dead for hours on end - Behaviour team apparently did not. Shocking, I know! They took some words from Akkadian and Sumerian both but the rest is just gibberish made to sound cool. The same goes for cuneiform in the temple.

The only sentence to fully make sense is Plague's mori though they (probably, as you'll see) took words from both languages.

In her mori the Plague says:
Addānika dingir ašāpu mê
addānika (Akkadian) - attenstion please/listen/to heed
dingir (Sumerian) - lord/god
ašāpu (ak.) - to exorcise/to cleanse
mê (ak.) - water (also: the body of water)

but I think it sounds better when translated as:
Heed me, Lord, cleanse the waters
as it makes sense relating to her power and past as the priestess performing cleansing rituals in Babylon so it may refer to her prayers to the Sea Goat god there and cleansing of fountains in game both.

If we wanted to translate mori from Sumerian exclusively (as some discussed previously on reddit and on DBD forum) we could read it as:
Adda ni ka dingir asbu me
adda - dead body
ni - in
ka - mouth
dingir - lord
asbu - dark
me - behold
Behold the corpse in the mouth of the dark lord
But in my opinion this translation makes much less sense and is probably grammatically incorrect as Sumerian grammar is much more complicated than English grammar and I'm in no way knowledgeable enough about Sumerian or Akkadian - just love linguistics - so take my translations with a grain of salt.

As for cuneiform from the Temple of Purgation it reads:

The only glyph that is translatable with ease is the first one - an meaning heaven or lord/god.

I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.

Surgeon was pretty noncommittal on PT, but my calf has atrophied substantially. If anyone has any tips for returning, or had a remotely similar injury, love to hear about it.
