A list of puns related to "Critical Criminology (journal)"
Sudenly out of nowhere, my uni started talking refering to critical criminology when talking about crime, yet I see no diference whatsoever in content and that has me very confused, as if any sentence that has the term "critical criminology" could be switched for just "criminology" and still mean the same thing, google says it's criminology but challenging old views surrounding crime, but that sounds just like a social science modernizing itself like any single social science that exists does if you ask me, as if the term "critical criminology" was kind of useless, if not, what am I missing?
Hey all!
I applied to (and have been accepted into) the Brock Critical Crim program; I was looking for some opinions or reviews of the program, classes, etc.
What should I expect that may differ from normal degrees? Does Law Plus mesh well with the program? Is there anyone on this thread that is in the program that I can talk to in the future.
Thanks so much. Looking forward to starting in the fall.
This free course, Introduction to critical criminology, provides a brief introduction to critical criminological thinking. It defines the ways in which critical criminologists take a 'critical stance' on the fundamental concepts, practices and institutions associated with crime and criminal justice systems.

I see a lot of people writing bullet journals and posting it online, most of them being female.
My psychologist recently got me a bullet journal to keep track of everything because I have five diagnoses, but I haven't used it yet since it's (from what I've seen) only girls and women who use them.
I'm a very creative person. I draw, I write books, I play music, I cook, and I bake. Basically anything that involves some kind of creative element.
I thought getting a bullet journal would be a fun, creative idea, but I now feel that it's wrong of me for being "too effeminate" or "girly".
Is it too girly to write and decorate a journal like that? I don't want to be categorised as some girly guy (not that there's anything wrong with it, I am somewhat effeminate already).
Thank you for the comment beforehand.
Lot of parental advice suggest you do this to find out everything your so or daughter is doing, but to me, the potential damage from the "trust" factor if the child finds out is just too great in my opinion.
This might not be something you understand but it was so important to me. I feel so violated.
The one line in the sand that I drew. I told her not to read it. That it had nothing to do with her or anyone else. It's only about me. My private thoughts, feelings and emotions. 1% of its contents refers to other people but solely in the context of how it affect me. Its nothing tk do with anyone else. It's only about me. Why did she have to fucking read it.
But she decides to read it anyway so FUCK HER.
She's 25 years old for fuck sake she should no better.
The relationship is over. There are many things I could forgive. Many things i could forget. This isn't one of them.
I seriously struggle with things some times and the journal helps. I never intended to read it. I don't intended for others to read it. I keep it because it helps me deal with issues that I'm having. It's an eclectic mix of random things. To others it's worthless and meaningless. But to me it holds so much value. To me it's so important.
I can't believe she violated my privacy like that.
I can't begin to describe how much this has hurt me. How angry I feel.
Now I'm scared to document things. What if someone else in the future reads it?
Fuck her for taking my coping mechanism away form me.
Update: I just wanted to say thanks for all of the support. I didn't realise how many others used a journal. I'm going to try to keep writing because it does really help me. It going to be hard for a while but I'm not going to let her take it away from me. I'm also getting a small safe. I have a few valuables that I should store in one so I'm going to get one big enough to store my journal in when I'm not using it. Hopefully one day I'll meet some that I can trust not to read it without my permission.
Also as this Is a common question my journal was in a nightstand in my bedroom. She had to go looking for it. She read it because she wanted to know what I'd written about her even though I've explicitly told her in the past I don't wright about other people. She's never mentioned in my journal. I left her in the living room of my flat to use the toilet. Quite literally left her for less than 5 minutes. Not that it matters now because the relationship is over and there is no way I'd take her back. As I said reading my journal without permission is one of the few things I can't forgive.
β¦because I can fill it in
(probably not original but I thought about it soβ¦sorry about the English)
Edit: I am going to read every single comment and at least acknowledge each one. Thank you for sharing. Keep it coming. Also, I keep thinking back to the smug faces of those mothers and it makes me so mad. Just saying.
Edit Edit: Trust me, Iβm reading it all. Every one of you gets a reply. Thanks for sharing. I will share too. Tomorrow evening Iβll reply.
Edit Edit Edit: WOW! Thanks for all your responses. Like I promised Iβll be going through every one of them tonight.
Edit Edit Edit Edit: I shoveled a boat load of snow for grandma today so letβs reschedule for tomorrow night. Iβm reading everythingggggggggggg. Youβre all getting replies. Iβm shocked at all the ex-husbands snooping in their ex-wivesβ diaries. What did they expect? Ridiculous. Itβs awesome to see that so many of you can really trust your family and lovers not to pry. I canβt!
Edit Edit Edit Edit Edit: I responded to a bunch just now but Iβll be back again tomorrow. So if I didnβt reply to today I will definitely be back for you soon. Everyone that replied to my original question gets a reply! Thanks for sharing. Maybe Iβll make another post with progress on things I learn about cryptography and implement in my journalβ¦until tomorrow!
Edit Edit Edit Edit Edit Edit: Iβm back again as promised. Late classes so Iβll be responding for just a bit. Iβll be back again Thursday. It looks like having a decoy journal is a winning strategy for a lot of you. You sneaky, sneaky little devils :)
Edit Edit Edit Edit Edit Edit Edit: okay, I came back one day late (sorry) and responded to everyone that left a comment on my original post! I read everything! Thank you everyone for sharing your stories. You gave me lots to think about. Threads like this are why the internet and Reddit are so awesome to me. Cheers!
I've seen some questions about Josh's head shaving / pond digging event that I had mentioned in my podcast. Here are some journal excerpts from February 2006 where I talk about what had happened. I was 16 years old at the time.
My goal isn't to embarrass or condemn anyone for using adult porn. That is part of the reason I didn't share this initially. I don't see consensual adult porn or phone sex as the same thing as CSAM or molestation. This entry shows patterns of behavior that should be very familiar by this point, including a growing recklessness / remorselessness, which should have been a massive red flag. He shouldn't have been anywhere near TV cameras, much less pushed to get married (the "solution" the church was prescribing for his "lust problems").
I mention the pond digging "rehab" from a year prior. In another portion of my Feb 5 entry, I mention that the Duggars had just received a DVD copy of a new TV episode (I referred to it as their "second special", not sure if it was actually their second or not). On that same day, I noted that Josh acted as if nothing had happened, only a few days after he was busted for racking up 20+ hours of phone sex calls (according to my journal).
I don't know the exact timeline of when he met and started to court Anna. I believe it was the same year.
(And yes, I did email Christian Book Distributors about the "Sexy Girls" book. My activism did not result in the offending book being removed from circulation...)

ETA: I forgot to introduce myself. I'm not Justin Duggar (ha). I attended church with the Duggars from 2004-2006, and was a fairly close friend of Josh and the family. I did an AMA on this sub and subsequently recorded a short podcast about my growing up experiences with my wife Julia.
Entry for Feb 1, 2006 (Part 1)
Admittedly I've been fussy with AACN in regards to their incessant publishing of research articles on improving nurse resiliency during the covid pandemic while never seeking accountability for corporate and systemic etiologies of burnout. But this recent editorial suggesting to women aged 35-55 who are experiencing depersonalization, fatigue, and emotional exhaustion that they might be experiencing menopause or perimenopause and not burnout seems extremely tone deaf for the state of the profession.

I am so overwhelmingly sick of this whole Californian commercialized mental wellness trend of manifesting or visualizing or gratitude journaling or whatever the fuck itβs called. There are about one billion YouTube videos and podcasts out there selling the same βstart your morning routine at the crack ass of dawn to be extra successfulβ-bullshit content. Nothing anyone says is original anymore. Hot water with lemon does nothing. There is no such thing as βmanifestingβ things into existence. Just stop it. Please.
Edit: Please stop messaging me to argue about this
