A list of puns related to "Covers (Placebo album)"
I know that the manager of Placebo had said that there will possibly be a single in September, and if so, on what day do you think it could be released?
And if it wasn't released this month, when do you think there might be a new single along with the announcement of the new album?
Apparently in May 2022 Placebo will be at a festival, so I think the album should be released before then.
Hi fellow Placebo lovers! In this thread we are gathering all the latest info on their latest album.
A HISTORIC MOMENT: PLACEBO ARE EXTREMELY HAPPY TO ANNOUNCE THAT ALBUM 8 WILL BE RELEASED BY @sorecordings, HOME TO @bandofskullsofficial, @entershikari & @deafhavana. NOW, WHAT WAS THAT ABOUT BLOOD SACRIFICE??......

Note: This is based on my own opinion. You don't like my ranking? Make your own. Also, I won't be going through all of the extra time by listening to the hidden tracks, so don't expect me to rank HK Farewell or Black Market Blood. I'll rank those in a separate list.
There are also no collaborations, so First Day by Timo Mass or Carbon Kid by Alpinestars won't feature since Placebo (or rather, Brian) only feature in those songs. Also note that I haven't listened to some of these that much, so they'll seem quite new to me. This will be updated whenever new material releases, such as the new single Try Better Next Time and when Never Let Me Go releases.
Placebo - 1996
Nancy Boy - One of the first songs I heard from the band
Bruise Pristine - I love the guitar on this track. And the track in general...
36 Degrees - I love the more fast-paced songs on this album.
Teenage Angst - One of the only videos where we see Robert Schultzberg...
Come Home - Sounds like '96 Placebo for sure. Not bad of a song.
I Know - Kinda sounds like a Skunk Anansie song... also, I think Brian's voice seems to be a little dry at some parts...
Hang On To Your IQ - I thought Brian said 'plastic anus'... nope, its 'venus,' not 'anus'.
Bionic - I only remember this from Brian moaning...
Swallow - It's just... speaking? I.. uh... I.. I can't even tell what it's saying anyways...
Lady Of The Flowers - Excuse me, I need to apologise... Ok..?
Without You I'm Nothing - 1998
My Sweet Prince - No, Brian. YOU'RE the one!
Pure Morning - This is my favourite album, and this is one of the first I heard from it.
Without You I'm Nothing - I've always preferred this version to the one with Bowie in it, feel free to care or try to prove me wrong.
Every You Every Me - I think this was the first song I listened to by the band...
Brick Shithouse - Meet the Brick Shithouse Yes, hello. This is AllMyUsernamesAreBad speaking, oh, right... LAY HIM DOWN-
You Don't Care About Us - The song is my rage.
Allergic (To Thoughts of Mother Earth) - I have no idea what 'expert levitation forward' is but I guess it's polished to the nth degree? Also, HEE.
Scared Of Girls - This song has a place inside my head.
Ask For Answers - I kinda like the slow pace of this one, Brian's voice really suits this.
The Crawl - I wanna lay down while listening to this...
Summer's Gone - I like how it's a blend between singing and
So, I just recently got into HiFi gear and stuff, and I'm working through albums I know and love in a whole new light. I can hear a distinct difference between pandora/youtube streaming, and Apple Music/Spotify and Tidal streaming, with Apple Music coming in a close second to Tidal, I guess their compression is a bit less lossy than Spotify. For someone with shit hearing hereditarily, I feel like I'm really hearing what music is supposed to sound like for the first time, instead of being a muddy collection of sounds.
I also believe I can hear a difference between Master and HiFi. HiFi is crystal clear, but Master just seems fuller, to have more sound stage, and more dimension and texture to the sounds. It's like the icing on the cake.
I get so excited when I find an album I love in Master Quality, but I wonder if that little M by the title is causing me to have a placebo like effect when I listen. I've switched back and forth between hifi and master, and to me, there is a difference. Curious about your thoughts on a potential placebo effect here.
Also, what are your favorite Master quality albums on Tidal right now?
This is my list that have blown me away:
Alt-J : Relaxer
Alt-J: An Awesome Wave
Alt-J: This is All Yours
Of Monsters and Men: Beneath the Skin
OAR: XX
Lorde: Pure Heroine (Not a huge Lorde fan usually, but the production here is great.)
Death Cab: Codes and Keys
I listened to A Perfect Circle's new Album yesterday and can't get over how much ["So Long and Thanks for all the Fish"] (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9TQ4nKWi0lQ&index=) sounds like a song by the band Placebo.
As a drummer the songs sound particularly similar to me. Similar build and both have the grove with an accent on the AND of 2 and on beat 4.
What really started me thinking about this was I feel in both songs the singers say "Hip Hip Hooray" in nearly the same way with a violin accompanying it heard in the part of the song which begins at about 3:00.
I have gone though a number of Placebo songs and none seem to fit the bill. I will be the first to admit I am not biggest Placebo fan so it is likely the song I am thinking of (if it exists) is at least mildly popular within Placebo's discography.
Hopefully someone with a better memory for Palcebo's music can help me out with this one.

Sooooooooooooooooooo stoked for this. These guys are fucking awesome and have a truly groundbreaking, fresh take on this type of music. If you haven't heard their old stuff, get on it!
"Placebo" is the the title track off the upcoming debut record.
I have a really hard time giving new bands a chance. I end up finding music is some weird, by chance way but most of the time when I find a band or album I love its because I just happened upon it by chance. I really wish I could find new music that has a lead singer with a unique voice and a band that has interesting arrangements. I like the way those artists above can give you a mental image with their lyrics, but still have a ear worm feel to them. If that makes any sense. Any suggestions would be great!!
Just to clarify, I'm not really into Irish traditional music so try to keep suggestions of stuff like The Pogues at a minimum, I'm looking for music with similar riff and basslines as well as powerful choruses.
Hi I'm gas1312 I'm an italian videogames music composer, a sound designer but mainly a chiptune and 8 bit lover. Now i'm working on my new LSDJ chiptune album but I'd like to present my first work called PLACEBO, an irony against dipendences It's made with a solo gameboy color running lsdj you can listen to it here: https://gas1312.bandcamp.com/album/placebo
As a big fan of Placebo for a few years, I've mulled over the idea of ranking them here once or twice, but I finally want to do it today. So, here are how I'd rank their albums personally:
#1.) Self-Titled (1996) - This is definitely the album that got me hooked. All of my favorite Placebo songs are here, especially Come Home, which was the first song by the band that really grabbed my attention and made me realize Placebo was something special.
#2.) Without You I'm Nothing (1998) - What most people would call their #1 favorite Placebo album. I adore this album, mostly because of Allergic (To Thoughts of Mother Earth) which is one of my favorite songs by the band. It's another album that got me hooked on the band.
#3.) Sleeping With Ghosts (2003) - While some people find the recurring relationship themes annoying, I actually find them quite endearing and interesting. In fact, Sleeping With Ghosts holds some sentimental value to me because it helped me get over my first breakup. I shit you not.
#4.) Black Market Music (2000) - For a lack of a better word, this is somewhat of a generic Placebo album. That doesn't mean it's bad, though, it just means that all the good things the band is known for are channeled into this album to create a pretty great record that I love quite a bit. It was the third album by the band that I listened to.
#5.) Battle For The Sun (2009) - This album was subject to way too much hate during its release, and even though it's not their best album of the second half of the 2000's, it's still pretty good. Sometimes it's forgettable, but there are definitely high points.
#6.) Meds (2006) - This album is the only one by Placebo that I don't "like", but I don't dislike Meds either. It just doesn't meet my standards--it feels way too unorganized, I guess? It's hard to pinpoint down, but I'm just not a fan of this one.
#7.) Loud Like Love (2013) - The only Placebo album I actually dislike. Lyrics can be downright bad, it isn't as creative as previous efforts (even Meds beats Loud Like Love in that department), and it feels like the band is running low on gas at this point. I think they'll get better eventually, but Loud Like Love isn't really helping at the moment.
How would you rate their albums?
