A list of puns related to "Connect 4x4"
I'm trying to get some basic gear before going out.
I was going to get a smittybuilt receiver + shackle combo from amazon before I started reading up on soft shackles.
I saw some high rated rhino soft shackles and seemed like a no brainer. Here's my question though:
If I use the soft shackle directly into the receiver wont the more 90 angled edges create tear points easier than if I were to connect the soft shackle to the rounded metal shackle that comes with the receiver? If I connect to the metal shackle it'll defeat the purpose of the soft shackle though...
Am I over thinking this? Whats the go-to method to use with my ARB snatch strap?
EDIT: this will all be used with a ~5500lb toyota tacoma

I've linked a very rough drawing of a fence I need to make.
I only have 4x4 posts and 2x4s, going to use this like wire cloth/mesh as the "fencing". fence posts will be 4 ft. above ground and the entire length of the fence will be about 20ft. only going to be like 5 ft. at most between any 2 posts
the purposes of the fence is mainly to keep dogs in yard.
left drawing is an above view of how the fence needs to be laid out. the right drawing would be looking at the fence face from either the back or the front showing roughly how I plan on driving in a screw to attach the rail to post. and the bottom is the gate I plan to make out of 2x4s. the gate will be about 3 ft. wide. and like a little under 4 ft. tall. the 4 inch face of the 2x4s being used would be facing the fence posts, and the 2 inch sides would be facing forward and backward.
initially my plan was to just join the 2x4 rails with the 4inch side flat face up/down, 2 inch face forward and backward, so that the 2x4 is flush with the post (I'll need to make miter cuts for the 2 ends of the angled side) and then drill from the bottom of the 2x4 at an angle into the fence post, I'd drill pilot hole first. essentially like pocket holes but without using a jig to do it.
once the posts and rails and gate up were up I was just going to attach the wire mesh to the back of it and secure it by hammering staples, doing best I can to keep the tension tight
the more I think about it, attaching the rails that way doesn't seem great, but maybe doesn't matter for such short rails?
I'm trying to come up with the simplest solution to increase the support of the rails besides just 2 screws screwed in at an angle from below the 2x4 into the post. maybe like a little triangle make from 2x4 wedged into the corners where the 2x4s meet the posts to give it a bit more support?
I have miter saw, circular saw, reciprocating saw available.
this fence doesn't have to be a work of art but I also just looking for ways to make it look as good and be as sturdy as possible with what I have.
any suggestions on better ways to attach the rails to the posts than what I've come up with, keep in mind what I have in terms of saws and the overall layout of the fence.
Curious if anyone has figured out how to update or side load nav since it's available on later models.. couldn't find anything that fit the bill. Considering just upgrading head unit but really enjoy the stock features, just wish it had nav... but my phone is right there on magnetic holder with nav so spending hundreds for that doesn't make since. Have seen the model I have used on ebay about 500$ so maybe could get this swapped on the cheap if no upgrade avail
Hey everyone. Been trying to connect either my Samsung A30 or iPhone 11 to the miracast on the Hilux 2020 workmate. Iβve tried googling it but for the life of me I canβt seem to get it connected.
Anyone know how to connect it?
Hello! I am trying to add lateral support from the 4x4 posts (which support larger beams) to the 2x6 joists of the floor of a small structure.
The plans I have call for adding 45 degree 2x4s up from the 4x4 posts to the 2x6 joists for lateral support. The joists are aligned on center with the 4x4 posts. Photo of the cross-section here.
The problem is, I am not sure how to connect the 2x4 lateral supports to the 4x4 or 2x6 joists. I could put one lag screw in at the joist and one in at the post, but it seems like you would need two screws at each end to prevent it from rotating.
But you can't really get two large lag screws into that 1.5in width. I thought about attaching the support 2x4 to the side of the post and joists with nails, but because the joist is on center to the 4x4 post, if the support is attached to the side of the post, there is a 1.5in gap between the side of the support and the side of the joist.
Maybe there is some sort of special connector I should be using?
Your suggestions are very much appreciated.
Hi there, I am having issues with Ableton connecting to my Tascam 4x4. When I go to preferences and select the option in the dropdown for it, it says "Failed to open the audio device "US 2x2 & US 4x4 Mixing Driver."" (There are two options under preferences - "US 2x2 & US 4x4" and "US 2x2 & US 4x4 Mixing Driver" and I've tried them both)
I have tried restarting the computer, unplugging and plugging back in the usb port to the interface and unplugging and plugging back in the power supply for the interface, but nothing has worked. The driver dialogue box pops up every time and seems to be connected, and it has it as an option in ableton so I know it's there. Also the interface seems to be in working order, because the SIG light comes on when I pluck the guitar.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated, since I have nothing else to do under this quarantine haha. Thank you!
So its a 120 year old house and all the 4 by 4s are cut from the post and i want to connect them back to the post im just not sure what would be the best way to do this since theres a big gap between the post and 4 by 4s https://imgur.com/a/FoPVSDI
Wish Transit Connect came in AWD or 4x4. Any good alternatives in that vein?
I do a lot of weekend warrior / dirtbagging, and I sleep in the back with my girlfriend. We like to climb, do snow stuff, and surf.
My 4Runner just died, but it had done a great job for us. We've got a had big Thule box on top for storage and had pulled the back seats out for sleeping.
Leaning towards buying something brand new. I might just get another 4Runner. But I'm pretty open to anything - truck, minivan, subuaru, van..
Definitely appreciate any input. Thanks in advance!
In the picture below, you'll see a version of my new inflatable boat. This boat is convenient, because it can be deflated and transported inside of a car.
I've made a carpeted boat floor out of a half inch sheet of 4x8 plywood sheathing. For portability, I cut it in half to fit in the car, so I have two 4x4 sheets.
Having two sheets is a little more wobbly than I'd like, so I'd like to see if there is a way to build some sort of connecor that will allow me to connext the two pieces into one solid piece when on the boat, but still allow it to disconnect when I disassemble.
Please note, the picture shows a friend's version of the floor that has 3 pieces. Mine is identical to this pic, except it has only two 4' x 4' pieces.

I'm building my kids a sandbox and I'm using 4x4's in the inside corners with 2x12's around the outside and I'm wondering what is the best way to fasten them together. I'm planning on putting at least 2 fasteners into each 4x4 on each side (so 4 total into each 4x4) with one near the top and one near the bottom but I don't know whether or not I should drill through it and use bolts with washers or if lag screws would be better... or if I could even get away with smaller wood screws?
Price is a concern as so far I've only spent $30 and the hardware I was looking at could possibly double that cost...
thanks!
Edit: Here is an illustration of what I'm talking about, red is 4x4, yellow is 2x12, and blue is fastener:

that's it that's the question thanks byeeee
So, I recently purchased a Sewell HDMI Matrix (4x4). I want to connect my cable box and Apple TV to the matrix and have one output going to my receiver which is connected to one TV. Another output will be running to an HDMI to Cat5 connecter and run down to another TV. The cable box routed through the HDMI matrix works fine on both tv's. The Apple TV (most recent gen) does not work with anything. I have tried eliminating all middle men (Apple TV->HDMI matrix->TV) to makes things more simple and it still does not work. I'm thinking it may be a problem with EDID? I'm somewhat new to this stuff. I'm not getting only audio or video. I am getting neither and get a message as if there is no input. Can anyone help me with this? I'm getting a little frustrated and am thinking about returning the matrix since it won't work with the Apple TV, but I'm hoping there is a good solution out there. Thanks in advance.
Hi
I would like to understand properly the Mimo antenna. I do have an intel radio chip with 2 port antenna. So for external antenna 2x2 mimo have 2 n connector, it's quite direct connect.. But for a 4 n type connector antenna, do i just connect the 2 horizontal and skip the 2 vertical port ? The antenna, like many, do support 4x4 mimo, so how do i connect to a 2 port mimo radio.
thanks
Hey guys, I have a 2016 renegade latitude. I had put it into snow mode all day, as where I am in the west got hit pretty nicely from a storm. Upon turning my car on after getting groceries it displayed βservice 4wdβ intermittently and repeatedly chimed until finally staying on at startup for good. Iβm stumped and was wondering if anyone else experienced this?
