A list of puns related to "Concrete and Gold"
I wasnt as big of a fan of Concrete & Gold as I wanted to be, but on top of that, I cannot stand the title track to the point where I really don't know if their is a worse Foos song. Thoughts?
C&G has been around for a while now. I'm curious to know what your favorite songs/moments are now that you've been able to sit with it for a while.
Arrows is probably my favorite song to come out of the album. I just absolutely love the drum track and the pain Dave puts in the vocal performance. My buddy's is The Line. The lyrical structure and tone hits him hard. After having a convo with him about it I wanted to hear more from others!
For me, I would say:
A year ago when it was released, I didnβt listen to it much as I just didnβt really like the sound of the album. Now it seems to be one of my favorite Foo albums. My favorite songs off of the tape are probably either Zero Hour or Sunday Rain. Anyone else feel the same way?
Not sure if this is intentional or not, but some lyrics in the new album are reminiscent of previous songs.
For example:
"Searching for a sign of life" in The Line is very similar to Learn to Fly
"On and on" pops up in Dirty Water and the title track, and while it might be a fairly common phrase it really reminds me of Aurora.
Did anyone else notice these or any others? Do you think they were intentional?
Preface: best is COMPLETELY objective and can mean a million different things. The definition of best I'm gonna use here is the most well known, catchiest, most successful, live show staples, "best" ex: Everlong, Best of You, The Pretender. ETC.
For me it's dirty water. There are some other good songs on the album, but man, when the guitars drop and you hear Rami's solo, it's a fucking trip.
Concrete, and Gold is a risky project. I mean, Dave is really experimenting, and that's nice. I just hate the songs so far. I really do appreciate, and admire the experimentation going on but to me, it's more pseudo experimental. We've already heard a lot of the shit on late 2000's Alt.Rock radio. There's also a sort of repetitiveness to it, both songs have that thumpy..errmm, Arena Rock-ish drumming. Maybe I'll like the album once it's released but until then, as I said, I admire the ideas just not the execution. They should keep it up though but try to grow with it, the Foo Fighters have always been good with adapting to new styles.
As of last night, the every song on the album has now been played live aside from T-Shirt, Happy Ever After, and the title track. Run, TSIAN, Dirty Water, La Dee Da and Sunday Rain have all become more or less regulars, The Line has got a couple of plays and Arrows and now Make it Right one each.
I'm just curious, what do people think the setlist will be like going forward in terms of new songs? Will the regulars remain regular? Will the as yet unplayed songs get a run out? Will they use any new songs as opener or closer?

I've been looking around, and I can't find any place to get high-definition FLAC or anything for the new album. The options through the main website for digital download are MP3 and "hi-res WAV" (44.1khz - WAV can only support 16-bit. So this is effectively the same format as the CD itself), nothing greater than that even though physical gets a vinyl release.
I feel like this is odd, given that Saint Cecilia was offered as a digital download and came as a 24-bit, 192khz bit- and sample-rate download (with an average bitrate of 5,153kbps for each song, whereas CD is 1,411 kbps and mp3 is 320kbps).
Has anything been said about a higher-definition digital download for this coming soon?

I just saw a post with people complaining the tips were too generic or too often posted so I thought I would try since I've climbed out of bronze and silver multiple times. Why did I drop back down? Because role queue wasn't a thing and I wanted to try different roles. I've gotten up to Diamond with Moira but I no longer play her because I'm tired of playing her, so, no tips concerning Moira unless you wanna specifically ask me.
