A list of puns related to "Colonial colleges"
S2 COLLIES ONLY: Shard 2 needs an organization committed to educating new players and bringing some discipline to the anarchy that is S2 collie lifestyle. I will develop a curriculum to work students through the basic building blocks of a well rounded player. starting from scrap ops, manufacturing, logi, base building and finally combat. any other Olevel players interested in being "instructors"
Colonial Community College- Clan tag (CCC)
Just as the title says, Iβm a 2nd year student at one of the nine colonial colleges on the east coast and Iβve had no shortage of strange and paranormal things happen to me while Iβve been going to school here.
With the colleges being as old as they are, youβd expect some creaks and groans at night, right? Empty forgotten buildings, dusty tunnels beneath the school, secret entrances to almost every building on campus, etc. All normal, right? Hell if I know, I didnβt look at any other colleges, it seems my family has a strange connection to this one.
So, as a first year, I didnβt know much about the collegeβs history, despite the fact that Iβm a history major and love everything about it. All I knew is that it was a great school that my family had been going to for generations, and I wasnβt going to be the one to break the tradition.
βSo, you think youβre prepared to move in?β My dad asked me, moments after I applied to the college.
βThey havenβt even seen my application yet, dad. We have no idea if Iβm getting in.β I replied, still looking at my submission.
He chuckled and said, βOh, youβll get in, trust me, we always do.β
I looked at him, both confused and slightly weirded out and said, βWell, alright, I hope youβre right.β
He then patted me on the shoulder and stepped out of my room, briskly walking down the hall to servants quarters to tell them to start preparing my favorite meal. (Yeah, my family has money, but weβre not like bitchy, stuck up assholes.)
I went started to log out of the browser when I got an email notification, being someone whoβs very OCD about opening all their emails, I opened it.
βDear (My name),
Congratulations! You have been accepted into (The college name). Weβre looking forward to your arrival on (move in date).
Sincerely,
(The collegeβs office of admissions)β
My dad walked back in moments after I finished reading the email, βSo, were you accepted?β He asked.
I turned to him, half glaring, half confused and said, βYeahβ¦ But the letter is really short.. And isnβt this process supposed to take weeks?β
He laughed again and said, βOh not for us, son, not for us.β and with a wink and a smile, off he went to his study.
I didnβt really understand what that meant until I arrived on campus a few months later and found that I was the only student moving in that day. I also wasnβt moving into a dorm, I was moving into an old, but quite large, brick and mortar house about a quarter mile away from the main campus build
... keep reading on reddit β‘I am currently working on a design for personal arms and I would very much appreciate any guidance or critique. While going through some older copies of the American College of Heraldry journals, I came across an entry in one of the journals (need to check my notes/pictures on the exact issue) that outlined a design element for those who could prove paternal lineage to an ancestor in the American colonies prior to the Revolutionary War.
From my notes, the excerpt reads:
"Fellows having in their proven paternal lineage an ancestor who resided within the American Colonies prior to 4 July 1776 are eligible to petition the College for leave to bear upon their coat of arms the colonial badge. Leave may e so petitioned at the time of grant or thereafter. The accuracy of the lineage must be authenticated by a qualified professional genealogist or by a recognized genealogical or patriotic society.
The badge consists of a crown of a tincture compatible with the arms. The badge is located in chief sinister above the bendlet, its base being parallel to the bendlet. When the arms bearing a colonial badge are transmitted through [...]"
The rest of the quote outlines the cycle of cadency and illustrates the division of the bendlet according to generation.
My question is: Has anyone ever heard of this outside of the journal, or seen any examples?
I thought the design element was unique and I would like to incorporate it into the design, especially since I am planning to submit arms to the American College. I do have the genealogical paperwork completed from a professional genealogist and copies of DAR as additional evidence.
Thank you in advance for any help and I appreciate you taking a look at the design.
I have no understanding of Latin but I am extremely interested in education, is there anyone willing to translate the theses at the end of this article?
His mother was a queen or princess when she was still in Africa and was very beautiful. The boy was weighed before and after bowel movements. I don't know the time period but it was before slavery was outlawed in the US and was in the US or possibly Great Britain. In think the college shuts down at one point and the boy no longer has the structured life he did before.
Book was written not too long ago, mid to late 2000's-2010's
