A list of puns related to "ChuChu Rocket!"
Anyone know what the movie Peggy samples on Chuchu Rocket? Canβt seem to find it.
I know it was quite popular back then, but why is it everywhere?
I just hopped onto the Dreamcast train a few weeks ago in 2021. Mine wasn't working when I got it home. It needed a new power supply so I installed DreamPSU yesterday and finally fired it on. First of all, love the menu screen. I tried out two of the games I'd picked up: Sega Rally Championship 2 and ChuChu Rocket. My girlfriend and I had fun with both, but ChuChu Rocket was an absolute blast! Hectic but also rewarding of smart play without being unforgiving. They say Mario Party ruins friendships but it has nothing on this game. Really loved it.
Looking for some roms I found this one in particular, I did not find any other record of this game in the Sega Genesis version, probably an unofficial port

After spending this morning on flycast's Discord and asking flyinghead for assistance, I can confirm ChuChu Rocket is now playable online through Flycast! For an tl;dr about the whole story, there was an bug with the console ID generated by Flycast being always the same which caused the game to always ask for username and password even when haven't used it yet, but with that fixed, you can create an new user and play online!
Now the full story, You may have heard that flycast supports DreamcastLive servers out of the box, and that's pretty much true for several games, including ChuChu Rocket. However, I had an issue this morning about how I couldn't get past the Dialing screen. After deleting dc_flash.bin, dc_nvmem.bin and dc_flash_web.bin, I could get to the User screen, but it asked me for Username and Password, something that I hadn't done before because I was just testing.
On that moment, flyinghead investigated about that and found out that there was an generated console ID that was used for some online games including ChuChu Rocket, and that the emulator only generated the same console ID, causing that all other instances made the game think it was already registered. As of the commit a5171a1, just one commit behind the latest, this was fixed, so that when you delete dc_nvmem.bin, it should generate an fresh file BUT with an different console ID, and this should allow you to registrate and then actually access online!
And well, here are some screenshots, the first one being the registration screen (how it should look when you are actually registering an new account), the second one being on the server's lobby, and the other ones being ingame screenshots: https://imgur.com/a/iiTU66p
HUGE thanks to flyinghead for making this possible, for creating flycast, giving me support with this through the Discord and test playing this with me (as seen in the screenshots), as well as the staff behind the Dreamcast Live servers, which are used by flycast automatically to connect online (which is what got used to play).
Alright, so I bought a copy of ChuChu Rocket on eBay a little while ago. When I received it, the center piece in the jewel case was broken, and the disc was loose inside. When I went to go play it, the music was skipping a lot. I chalked it up to the disc being scratched in the case, so I sent it back to the guy who swapped out the disc for a new one.
This second disc was even worse. The Sonic Team logo screen was a garbled, blurry mess, and it was a miracle if the game even loaded after that. And if it ever detected a VMU on startup, it just wouldnβt load after the Sonic Team screen.
So okay, maybe I just got unlucky. Maybe I happened to get two defective discs from the same guy. Okay, fine. This time, I made sure to get a disc in the best possible condition. I found a factory-sealed copy, and I thought, βThereβs no WAY this could fail. Itβs an unopened, perfect condition copy.β
When it finally came in, I made absolutely sure that it was in perfect condition. Sure enough, it was sealed, no scratches, nothing. Absolutely nothing shouldβve gone wrong.
Iβve been trying for the past half hour to get this thing to work. Most of the time I canβt even get it to read the disc, and sometimes it just stops spinning the disc during the Sega screen. And after all that, IF I can load into the game, the music skips. Plus, Iβve already had it lock up during a loading screen
None of the other games I bought have this problem ,or ANY problems for that matter, itβs only ChuChu Rocket that just REFUSES to work on my console. I seriously donβt know what to do. Does anyone else know about how to solve problems like this?
stop milking sonic games sonic can dash into a underwater cave and drown. ChuChu Rocket! should be top priority for a sequel/remaster, probably on the switch or something idk
Havenβt seen it mentioned much, but ChuChu Rocket Universe! is a really great puzzle game. Anyone else enjoying it?
Hey, I've installed reicast on my Pi 3B to play ChuChu Rocket. I set my controller up and deleted the memory cards. But after starting chuchu rocket it loads a music track instead of loading the game. Have I missed something?
