A list of puns related to "Christopher McDonald"
Has anyone had this guy? His ratemyprofessor review is less than stellar, but I want to hear from actual people before I make my decision about swapping classes
I was watching Happy Gilmore today and it dawned on me that every scene McDonald is in makes me laugh. He walks that edge of being despicable but also endearing. He's the perfect foil to Sandler's over the top silliness that can tend to overwhelm a lot of his movies.
I feel like the movie wouldn't have worked nearly as well as it did if Shooter didn't hit so perfectly.
The EOD community suffered a devastating loss the other day and it's taken some time to process it. It seems on average that the EOD community loses 3-4 techs a year to suicide (if not more). Suicide is indiscriminate. If you're active duty or retired, Army or Navy, male or female, young or old. The sad reality is it can get anyone.
Chris's death was different than most of the ones the community has dealt with because he left this note on 3 or 4 different EOD Facebook groups, to include After the Long Walk (This is a reminder to NOT join that group if you are NOT an EOD tech. It is not a meme page, you can't learn about the school house, just stay away if don't wear a crab) a page specifically created to help EOD techs who are struggling with their demons. Despite an ambulance being dispatched 4 minutes after his post, Chris succumbed to his injury.
This again highlights the reality of the struggles that EOD techs will face the rest of their lives. I want those looking to be apart of this family to understand all sides of it, we aren't trying to toss a rug over this and keep it from the public. To be clear, the community is trying to do the exact opposite and bring awareness to the VA's failing mental health department. It's something that has desperately needed to be addressed for the last decade and so far no positive change has come.
I just watched Yesterdayβs Enterprise probably for the first time since it aired. What a remarkable piece of television that is. But Christopher McDonald in particular put in just a phenomenal acting performance as Castillo. Apparently he auditioned for Riker and came close. Itβs interesting to think how the character would have developed as played by McDonald. Maybe a bit more sensitive and less confident. Sort of ironic that he ended up coming on TNG as an alternate first officer from an alternate Enterprise. He certainly made the most of it.
