A list of puns related to "Cherry picking (basketball)"
Then I realized that they also APPLIED IT TO THEIR TEACHINGS, after attending so many of them cults Sports Fest in the US.
I was only going for the highest paying offers and at first it was working but my metrics went down so bad I stopped getting offers in my zone. Iβm talking 0 a day for days. It had me worried thinking I had to go back to dd(crumb$). Iβm thinking your metrics might be based off of the zone you work.? I now have to go to other zones to get consistent offers and it works plus my metrics went from 40% to 74% in 10 days. I still canβt get offers in the zone I live in tho but I can appreciate getting out of my βcomfortβ zone. Driving 20 miles away means I gotta stay working and not being able to just go home bc Iβm feeling lazy and just shut it down not wanting to get back out there. More discipline involved and it only makes me more moneyπ€
Title
Something occurred to me recently, and I wanted to run it by you guys to see if there's a flaw in my thinking.
I get a LOT of RCEs. As in, most cases have 3+ RCEs before the end.
And an RCE is generally substantially easier than a brand new non-final, even though I always work to substantially improve the search.
It occurred to me that in such an environment, that "cherry picking" (doing the easiest cases available out-of-order) is advantageous.
While cherry picking generally makes your future dockets harder (because the easy cases are gone), it also starts the process of those easy cases turning into RCEs sooner than if you had just done your docket in order.
It seems to me that on net, maximizing the RCE pipeline more than offsets the downsides of consistently dealing with a bad regular new every week.
What do you guys think?
Passed to devs gameplay suggestions this month:
What doesn't get passed to devs though:
I picked those two for comparison because they have polls and also I think they are still relevant (there are a suggestions that may be irrelevant/already implemented by devs on their own). You will find other suggestions that have general consensus that they should be passed to devs waiting for ages...
Go look through passed to devs notice board and you'll find more cherry picked stuff from time to time, especially for naval.
EDIT: In light of some criticisms I feel the need to add a disclaimer here. If I could go back in time, I would 100% write this in a significantly less hostile way. I think in the end I have achieved far more alienation than education, and I am less than proud of that. I won't delete this post since I think there's still good info in it, but I hope everyone reading it from this point forward can appreciate that it definitely is not worded in a desirable way. I apologize to anyone I have potentially offended and sincerely hope I have not been the catalyst for anyone abandoning Buddhism. Different people are at different places and I didn't appreciate that enough when initially writing this. Please refer to this comment by u/En_lighten for a much better example of how to handle this topic.
I've had some fun recently picking apart some articles with interesting takes on Buddhism. I link to the last two here and here. This time I figured I'd go through an article from the Secular Buddhist Association. Like many people I found out about this website through the Youtube channel "Doug's Dharma." His videos are very frequently recommended on searches about Buddhism. He opens many of his videos by introducing himself as the "study director at the Secular Buddhist Association." A little while back I got curious and looked up this organization's website. Going through the "Starting Out" tab there were quite a few questionable takes but today let's just consider this one. Just keep in mind that this article is on their list of beginner's materials. The article can be found here and is titled "Is Secular Buddhism Cherry Picking?"
(Oh, and as with any post that includes the words "secular" and "Buddhism" in the same sentence, please exercise caution when browsing the comments and civility when posting one. I won't be touching on ideas of cultural appropriation here because 1) I'm definitely not the person to be talking about that and 2) that's a lot more nuanced than the pedantic fact checking I prefer. I'm not saying that's not a conversation worth having, it's just not happeni
... keep reading on reddit β‘I know most people here focus on the ethics of veganism, but I think the nutritional side is still worth talking about since so many meat eaters act like they'd just die if they didn't have tons of animal protein... if you didn't know meat is bad for you, it's because you didn't want to know that. And in particular, almost everyone in the scientific community admits highly processed meat like bacon and sausages are god awful for you. I'm mostly just venting since I just had to explain to a few people, very slowly, that the existence of protein in bacon doesn't make it health promoting...

#THE FED IS DEAD
This is a follow up to my previous post, which can be found here.
This post is directed towards the apparent unfair enforcement of rules that I've seen from the Mods. This is not an attack towards them, nor am I inciting any hate towards them, this is just criticism that I wanted to point out.
A while back, I made a post called Skye's Choose your own adventure. Basically, users would comment ideas for the next part of the story and the top one would win. This post was removed because it broke the "No calls to action" rule. I think that's fair enough, my post clearly violated the rules and it was taken down. As such I am not asking for it to be reinstated. Other users have also made similar posts where they would ask users to give them skins to draw expressions for. These were also taken down, and similarly I believe that is fair takedown by the mods.
This however, does not excuse how certain posts are allowed to stay up and flourish. I won't be giving links to any of them, as I don't want anybody to harass the creators, but they can be found easily through a quick search. One such example of this is a post titled specifically asking users to band together to figure out what med mist smells like. (Again, please do not harass the creator of this post. I'm sure they're not a brick farmer and made this post innocently.) The no calls to action rules states very clearly that your post should not be used to incite a movement or rally the community behind a common goal, which I think based off the title of the post alone makes it a clear violation. That post has not been taken down, nor have any of the numerous posts similar to it been taken down.
Either the mods enforce their rules properly or they remove the rule, you can't ride the fence like this. At the very least, I think the mods should at least make a statement on why they choose which posts to remove and which ones to keep, and if they offer a good explanation as to why I'll gladly change my stance on the topic. I have plenty of respect for the mods, and I can get that decisions can go far beyond my understanding of the situation. At least as of right now though, I can't see how the rules are being enforced fairly in any way.
Show me one Christian who has chopped off their hand or plucked out their eye for sinning. Didnβt think so.
Why? Because they pick and choose whatβs literal and whatβs figurative. However, the language is pretty clear. Jesus literally expects you to do this. In no way does the language hint at being hyperbole. So why take this one teaching in the context of the sermon on the mount as figurative, but take every other verse literal? Itβs the same sermon.
