A list of puns related to "Cape Hatteras National Seashore"
I've seen local news on this topic but the different counties having different protocols confuse me, so I thought I would come here. I'm from Greensboro myself, and I've been wanting to visit the National Seashore sometime this week. Will I be barred from entering due to restrictions dealing with COVID-19?
Hey r/askscience!
I was planning a trip to the US and while I was perusing the map of the country I kept seeing these almost "blade-like" coastlines that seem to almost always be off the coast of the mainland. I especially noticed a lot on the East coast scanning from New York and South from there, a place called Kitty Hawk is probably the most obvious example I can think of. So my main question would be, why is it that there are so many of these long, thin coastlines around the country? Are they man-made to protect the natural coastline that is usually home to major cities? Or are they naturally occurring?
Many Thanks!
Has anyone camped here? Not the mom and pop places, but the federal govt ones. Or any suggestions where to camp just off the OBX?
My girlfriend wants to hit a beach this summer, and I would like to avoid the usual beach scene, so I was thinking the Outer Banks might be a good compromise. I know there are three campgrounds in the National Seashore. Anyone with experience there and/or advice about one that is better than the others, etc.?
