A list of puns related to "Kill Devil Hills"
Does anyone have a forklift they would be willing to rent out at noon on dec 1st??? Desperate times call for desperate measures!
My debut novel recounts the Wright Brothers' quest for flight from the perspective of the Greek Muse (Polyhymnia) who nurtured their efforts.
Grab a ticket to this flight of fancy -- it's a fun, fast ride, I promise!

Greeting, fellow students of Aviation!
I have a new novel out -- The Muse of Kill Devil Hills: A Historical Fantasy
Having long been a follower and admirer of the Wright Brothers, I was always astounded by the fact that these two bicycle builders from Dayton were able to best Langley in the quest for controlled, powered flight. The most I examined the story, the more unlikely it seemed. So I decided to re-write the history (a tad) and give Wilbur a muse. A Greek Muse. Polyhymnia, to be precise.
Anyway, I would love to hear this group's reaction to the result. I mention it now because I've put the e-book on Kindle Countdown this week (Oct. 14-20) for $1.99 (less than the price of Two-Buck Chuck nowadays):

If this still seems like blatant self-promotion, send me a PM and I'll be happy to e-mail a PDF. I'm far more interested in your opinion than your two bucks!
So, if you weren't sufficiently outraged by Hazelgrove's "Wright Brothers, Wrong Story," give my Muse a try... it's a fun flight of fancy, I promise.
Thanks a million,
Mary
(In case anyone cares about my qualifications... 30 years as a HF Aerospace researcher at NASA Ames, AND I personally crashed the original Flyer flight simulator!)
Hi everyone!
I worked this summer as lifeguard in Kill Devil Hills and am currently a Junior at Columbia University. For one of my classes, I am looking to design and create a website/ app that would help patrons of Kill Devil Hills select their beach access for the day!
I am looking for people to interview and walk me through how they select their beach access for the day. Specifically I am looking for Kill Devil Hills patrons that fall into one of the following groups:
β’Tourists who do have been to Kill Devil Hills beaches, but do not know the accesses well
β’Tourists that visit regularly and know each access well
β’Tourists with children
β’Locals
β’Locals with children
β’Handicap
If you fit any of these groups and would be willing to do a quick interview walking me through your routine picking accesses, please reply below! Please include which group you fall into.
I appreciate any help and feedback to create something helpful for KDH beach patrons!
Thank you!
Emily
If you are a diver, the OBX is known as the Graveyard of the Atlantic. Bring your gear and check out the Triangle wrecks. We had such a fun time and the water was very clear. It is a shore dive so you can swim out to the wreck.
Hi everyone! Heading to KDH tomorrow and hoping to get a few good lunch & dinner recommendations! Ideally would like a few casual dinner spots with cocktails and a view of the ocean and one nicer dinner spot if possible. Thanks so much!
Hi OBX! Headed to Kill Devil Hills next weekend for our first trip with our rescue dog. Are there any dog friendly patios in Kill Devil Hills? Tia!
In particular the following tracks:
Kill Devil Hills - Changing the Weather: https://youtu.be/lZve-9gjGTQ
Clinkerfield - Bonnie Come Save My Soul: https://youtu.be/r544OiMqVns
Kill Devil Hills - I Wonder If She's Thinking of Me: https://youtu.be/OFlHmmlaMUY
Even a some guitar scales or modes would be massively appreciated
Cheers!
Hello, everyone!
I am an Exchange Visitor (Summer Work & Travel participant) planning to spend the upcoming Summer 2021 in Kill Devil Hills. We're 4 guys planning to stay together. We are finding it hard to find a house (actually a room) to rent for three months.
I know this may not be the right subreddit for posting this. However, the 'OBX' subreddit is not that active, and some of the landlords who rent their houses out in Outer Banks to visitors may actually be living in the cities.
I contacted lots of landlords on Facebook, and all of them said that they are full for the Summer 2021. Other rental options on the Internet are not long-term (three moths).
Since locals know the place better than visitors, I would like to know if any of you, or someone you know, have something to offer. One room would still be fine (with two bunk beds) since we'll spending most of the time outside working or visiting places.
We are smart and intelligent students from Uzbekistan majoring in Computer Science. We promise no parties or pets. We'll working at McDonald's in KDH.
We can't apply for a visa (we can't apply currently for any type of visa because all visa services are suspended at all U.S. Embassies) without our housing arranged per the requirements of our J1 visa sponsor Intrax.
We're also fine to share the house with the house owner! That would be really fun since we're from completely different parts of the world! We can learn a lot about our each other's cultures!
Please, let me know if you can help.
