Are Irish governments on a Brewster's Millions style adventure to spend billions of euros on housing without actually building one house?
Because honestly that's the only explanation I can come up with for the last 10 years of housing policy. Between HAP, Help to Buy, buying 10% of developments for social housing (and market cost) and 20 year leases of apartments by council (at insane market costs), it really seems like they'll do anything to avoid building one goddamn house that they will own.

The Brewster Building- completed in 1893 as the Lincoln Park Palace- known for its’ iconic cast-iron and glass stairways and atrium. Served as Charlie Chaplin’s 1914-15 residence in Chicago and the filming location of the original Child’s Play.
Completed Brewster Douglas Housing Projects. Built 1935 -1955. At it's peak the projects housed up to 10'000 families. Partial demolition took place of the original buildings in 1994 and the rest of the projects were demolished in 2013 - 14. The Rec center (on the far right) still stands.
I once went to an open air Queen concert.
