A list of puns related to "Bourne (film series)"
To be clear, my dad has no aversion to Matt Damon as an actor, and likes many of his movies, including other movies in the Bourne series. However, he believes The Bourne Legacy expertly continues the story by combining elements of the original three films while showing a "side story" that is in some ways superior to Bourne's storyline.
I don't agree with him, but it's a weird enough opinion that it made me curious to know if anyone else has random opinions from family members that seem off-base, but make you question what you think about a movie or series?
I watched die hard today and I was blown away it was too good . Are there any suspense action films like die hard ,Jason Bourne ?
I watched the Bourne Identity when it came out after being a huge fan of the books growing up.
I was hugely disappointed - the story lines are so loosely based on the books it actually angered me.
I tried explaining it to friends at the time but nobody else I spoke to had read the books.
Iβve still not seen anymore of the films and that also angers me because everyone says theyβre really good!
It seems Iβm quite angry about stuff!

First thing, I don't know how to tag anything so, sorry about that.
Ok, so I just read the first book lets not go into the other books because I haven't decided to read them or not. I can obviously see now that they are very different plots with very little similarities, and in a way I feel this is the first book where I feel the film is much better. How did you guys feel about the book, specially if you read it after watching the film.
My dad is home with us from the hospital after an accident and is couch ridden for a few weeks more. He has really enjoyed watching the Bourne film series and Oceans 11, 12, 13 over the last week but I am not sure what to watch with him next.
He likes action films and (good) book adaptations as well. Any recommendations welcome! Thanks in advance.
The Fargo tv series-haven't seen the original. I mean specifically ones where the protagonist(s) has moments like:
-anticipating what an opponent is going to do, and taking it into account-particularly in a gun fight (Bourne series, No Country)
-Having to discuss/defend their motivation to do what they do (Heat, No Country, Fargo)
-Deceiving people in a more long term way, e.g. maintaining multiple identities (Fargo, Bourne series)
-Working out what their opponents are up to/planning/have done-preferably through research and reconnaissance rather than just beating up whoever's around (Bourne, Fargo, Heat).
The films/series don't have to include all (or any!) of these things, but that should give a feel for what I mean.
β¦specifically because of the epic nature of the film. I went to see it in theatres twice, and both times I was blown away by the cinematography and sound because it translates so well on a big screen with surround sound and everything else that makes the experience truly cinematic.
After seeing the film on D+ yesterday, it just didnβt hit the same. The movie was still great and I thoroughly enjoyed it, but I found myself feeling a little let down during some scenes because they just didnβt feel thatβ¦ epic? Idk, thatβs the best way I can describe it. It just felt muted. The most disappointing part was Arishemβ¦ I went from feeling as small as Ajak when he pooped up in the theatres to feelingβ¦ meh, while watching it on TV.
A series would obviously have allowed more time to flesh out the characters, which appears to be peoplesβ main gripes with the film (that and pacing), but I think they did a pretty good job fleshing out these 10 characters in 2.5 hours. Maybe not all of them, but thatβs gonna happen when youβre essentially doing 10 origin stories.
TL;DR Eternals in the theatre π, Eternals on D+ π
So obviously this is extremely subjective, but are there any series or franchises you can think of where every entry is solid without any entries that you personally dismiss?
For example, many people will dismiss any Terminator entry after T2. Other people reject the Star Wars prequels or sequels. But is there any series you believe got every entry right and is legitimate?
Edit: Yes, I misspelled "canon." To clarify, I'm talking about film series that have the same official continuity, not a "thematic series." Also I'm only asking about films, if you think a film series is great but the TV spin-off or video game is bad, that's okay.
I know that this question was posted before but what genre or topic that series and movies here rarely tackle that you want to see?
For Example: A Filipino Cosmic Horror Film but from a religious perspective or a Sci-Fi Thriller Series about a Rich Girl Antagonist in a Telenovela becoming self aware and realizes that there's something wrong with the world she's living in.
Here's my list.
Glad Rags. Mid 90s kids series filmed near the Central Markets. Had the kid from E Street in it.
Sebastian and the Sparrow. 1988 movie directed by Scott Hicks. Starred a kid who was also a roller skater, but he wasn't from Skateline so he wasn't as cool as us.
The Space Demons, Sky Maze, Shinkei trilogy by Gillian Rubenstein.
Lemon Tree Passage - It's set in Byron Bay but I know it was filmed locally because I was an extra. The beach scenes are Horseshoe Bay but if they want to call it something else, fine.
Absolute gems that need no mention.. Here's Humphrey and Fat Cat, Curiosity Show, Bad Boy Bubby.
News Free Zone. 1985, ABC. This show was wierd, it was kind of like Not the 9 O'clock News and Kenny Everett Video Show. I watched an episode being filmed in the gym and pool at the Super Centre. It started legendarary comedian Grahame Bond (Aunty Jack).
Some 90s kids show about runaways filmed at the Islington Workshops which I can't remember the name of.
Most obvious example is fast & furious and there tons more but I just don't get why they have to out do the previous one while they can do something similar but different
The main reason for this post is that I hope they don't do it to John wick. Now all 3 I've enjoyed but the best thing about the movies are the realistic fight scenes. Yes they are over the top but still believable. But I have a fear they will just go down the enemies will shoot but nothing will touch the hero I really didn't understand the horse chase sequence as to why the bikers just didn't shoot the horse, or John wick from behind instead of going next to him
Also the scene (I forgot which part I think 2) where that violin playing Assassin shoots him in the body and not in the head. A trained assassin must know that he must be wearing a bullet proof suit
The Bourne series is a really good example of keeping the action the same but progressing the story line
I mean there are lots of those entertaiment medias with the worn "Russian bad guy clichΓ©" so I ask myself what were western entertaiment products with an at least ok potray of the Russian people, Russian history or fictional Russian characters etc.
Just stumbled upon Hollywood Reporter article.
Apparently WoD/VTMB is being made i to a cinematic universe by Oscar-nominated Arrival screenwriter Eric Heisserer. Heβll be working with writer Christine Boylan, whoβs worked on whos like The Punisher and Castle. The whole thing will be produced by Hivemind, which is behind shows like The Witcher and The Expanse.

How credible is this and is there more info?
(This is big on r/Ask but as they often are, the answers are all of an American flavour! Obviously some huge programmes cross the pond, but I'm interested in a more British response!)
Hey everybody. I wanted to make a comparison between the LotR films by Peter Jackson and the the Witcher streamed series.
I am a huge the Lord of the Rings fan. I've read the novel at least thrice (which is saying a lot, because I rarely ever re-read books at all), and most other books by Tolkien at least once.
The film adaptation by Jackson obviously makes a lot of changes to the original story. The biggest offender is the Two Towers, which is vastly different from the source material. Nonetheless, I still love these films. I consider the Fellowship and the Return of the King to be among the greatest films ever made, and the Two Towers, while I like it less because of the fact it's much less faithful to the novel, is also a very good film.
Now, the the Witcher series also introduces many changes compared to the source material. We've got characters that were never in the novel, we've got characters who are in the novel but feel like different people in the show, we've got people participating in events they didn't have the slightest connection to in the novel, and so on.
So, what's the difference? Why is the the Lord of the Rings adaptation still considered an excellent piece of cinema, despite all the changes to the source material, while the Witcher is a dumpster fire with all its "corrections" to Sapkowski's works?
First of all, there are some changes that are actually fairly good, all in all. As an example (yes, I am a nerd to remember such details), in the Mines of Moria, Frodo says, "It's as I feared" upon learning about Balin's death. In the film, that line was given to Gandalf. And I think it makes sense. I am not trying to say Tolkien was wrong by having Frodo say that, but in the film, Gandalf saying that line makes sense, as he's infinitely wiser and has a broader knowledge than Frodo. A little before that, Gandalf is very hesitant about entering the Mines, and only agrees to that after being left with no other choice. This is totally the opposite of the novel, where he is actually the one supporting Moria as their way through. Again, this makes sense.
In the the Witcher series, there's not a single scene where you can confidently say, "okay, that's reasonable. That's a good change. This improves the scene compared to if it was adapted word to word". Everything feels extremely forced. They are changing stuff for the sake of changing it.
Secondly, Jackson had a valid reason to omit or alter scenes. We're talking about a pr
... keep reading on reddit β‘Obviously, it would be far more challenging, as the books in ASOIAF are drastically longer and contain more characters, plot lines, etc. But regardless, would you want to see the series be turned into films, especially after how egregious the show became?
The guy just kills it everytime heβs on screen. Idk heβs just really good
