A list of puns related to "Bling Empire"
Just go watch it for yourself. The most cringy racist thing I've ever seen. I understand funny, but this was just trashy and plain hard to watch on so many levels. People who have never experienced culture, will have these first impressions about it.
As an Asian dude who was on here a lot few years ago, I can tell you that the best thing you can do to battle anti-Asianism is through achieving as much as possible, living up to your fullest potential, dress to the nines, get in the best shape of your life. Looking at successful Asians in media was definitely a help.
What are your thoughts on Christine Chiu joining RHOBH? Will she fit in? I wonder if Bravo has ever thought of casting her? She seems to have the fiery personality and βgrandβ lifestyle appropriate for the show. And sheβs also a friend/acquaintance of Kathy, Kyle, Crystal, Dorit and Sutton so the connection is there.
I know some of the current cast have confirmed their return next season but I wonder if Bravo will be adding some more ladies to the show next season? Or are they looking for replacements for potential non-returnees (ahem: Dorit)?
Their team was made up of Jason, Brett, Mary, Chrishell, Heather, and Amanza. They did not choose Maya, Christine, or Davina β do you think this was because they are no longer considered main characters in the upcoming seasons? I'd love to hear your thoughts on this.
I watched a few episodes and enjoyed it. It has
Also they show Asian food and talking about the different Asian cultures which is awesome.
What the hell were they thinking? She brings the lifestyle porn we all crave!
I'm cringing so hard watching this guy. It's more than that though... he is super concerning in the sense he acts like every single guy that just gets worse and worse until he loses it and then turns physically abusive. He doesn't even see it. Everyone is acting like he's just not good enough for Kelly, but it appears way more sinister than that. I'm only about halfway through the season, but I can't imagine this gets better.
Is anyone watching Bling Empire on Netflix? I forgot Christine was once a candidate for RHOBH! Thank god she didnβt get chosen cause sheβs annoying and pretentious as hell!
Are we watching, are we loving? Why has Anna not been cast on RHOBH? She is Russian Japanese LVP but with extra intimidation and lowered bullshit tolerance... quality content!

With the recent release of Bling Empire, there's been a lot of talk both good and bad. I think Kevin Kreider's presence on the show really helped, though, and anytime we can see more hot Asian men in media, it's always a good thing.
I interviewed Kevin Kreider for a brand new podcast, and we had a pretty long discussion around Asian masculinity.
β Is being seen as rich such a bad thing for Asians?
β Addressing the haters -- is Bling Empire really positive representation for Asians / Asian men?
β How Kevin feels Asian men are quickly advancing in representation, and general thoughts on how we can improve Asian male representation in the west (and our dating lives).
β What I thought about him getting rejected by Kelly on the show
β Why is there so much resistance to the advice of "start lifting"
β Whether he and Kim Lee are dating as of now
β How has dating life changed for him from High School all the way to now after Bling Empire fame

I'm very interested in hearing YOUR opinions on the matter, in depth, especially if you've actually seen the show.

Saw this from a FB page (Badass Asian Dudes) and thought this would be a great place for it. You kind of realize that Bling Empire is a "reality" show b/c Kevin definitely isn't as big of a doofus as he portrays
Enjoy!
Bling Empire is Netflix's latest foray into LA-based reality TV and naturally, I'm obsessed. It feels inevitable that the two show's worlds will collide eventually. I'm thinking a crossover episode, or some characters strolling into the other show because they're all part of the Netflix Cinematic Universe anyway.
None of this is real, but my need for it is very real. These are the questions I need answered the same way that I need oxygen.
Who else sees the crossover potential? Any chance to get Anna Shay on screen, I'm taking.
A week ago I posted here about a new show with crazy rich Asians in Los Angeles. The show is now out and slowly moving up the Netflix top 10, this time moving into the #4 spot. That's millions of viewers entering the world of the ultra rich Asians. With this, Hollywood has figured out that showing the 'crazy rich Asian' stereotype works to gain viewers, much like the 'kung fu artist' stereotype did in the past.
I've only seen the first two episodes, and it's all filled with stereotypes. The two Asian men main characters in the show are Kane, a flamboyant gay bestie type, and Kevin, the eye candy Asian guy. But Kevin doesn't seem to be successful dating, instead, the one non-Asian guy Andrew (light skinned Latino) is dating the Asian woman Kelly. Even with Kevin Kreider in it, Asian men are still being stereotyped as undesirable while Andrew is seen as being desirable. This is a show that is supposed to be about Asians. I haven't seen the other episodes so hopefully someone can tell me if it gets better.
There's all the stereotypical things, like being crazy rich narcissists, being obssesed with European designer brands, etc. It's hard for most people, including other Asians, to relate to them. Especially during a pandemic where people are living paycheck to paycheck and can't find jobs and the ex president blames it on the 'China virus'. This show upholds more stereotypes than it breaks.
I support movies like All My Life, Sound of Metal, Minari, Boogie, Shang Chi, The Green Knight, and others show Asians that doesn't play into stereotypes. I predict an uptick of anti-Asian hate crimes and robberies as a result of Bling Empire. In a world where stories about class struggle like Knives Out or Parasite are celebrated, Bling Empire feels out of touch, much like these crazy rich Asians.
I saw Bling Empire on Sofiaβs story and I have to say glad Iβm not the only one. I started watching it last night and even though I donβt like reality tv shows for the most part this one is surprisingly good even the drama lol. What do yβall think?
Update: I think we all agree that we LOVE Annaπ
Has anyone here watched Bling Empire on Netflix?
The relationship between Kelly and Andrew was soo horrendous to watch. I was happy they were filming at the therapist office, cause otherwise if there were no cameras I was concerned he would hurt her. Not letting her break up with him. Iβm happy that the therapist was actually legit and helped Kelly come up with an exit plan.
That said all the men on this show are LVM and the women know this and just excuse it. Even the main guy, Kevin, who is sooo cool and a model, is awful. He is soooo excited for Kelly to break up with Andrew. Not because Andrew is emotionally abusive but because he wants to hook up with her.
